Talk Ten Tuesdays is continuing its reporting on the unprecedented changes occurring this decade in the world of healthcare coding.

Coders and health information management (HIM) professionals need to retool in order to meet new challenges brought about by artificial intelligence, as well as by social and political changes already underway. With profound healthcare upheaval taking place here and globally, we asked Ginna Evans, the new president and board chair of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), to share her 2020 agenda for the group, which represents more than 103,000 HIM specialists in the United States and around the world.

The live broadcast will also feature these other segments:

  • Special Report: Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC), a Medicare program becoming effective January 2021, is expected to be a huge undertaking for organizations reported by Susan Gatehouse, founder and CEO of Axea Solutions.

  • The Coding Report: Holly Louie, will report on the results of a recent national survey of coding accuracy.

  • Tuesday Focus: Lamon Willis, reports and gives guidance on steps coders can take to improve their job performance.
