Episode description

The global coronavirus pandemic is worsening quickly, and at a time when winter is bearing down, forcing more of us to remain inside. In fact, health experts are predicting that confirmed daily cases of COVID-19 will climb above 200,000 nationally. With soaring infection rates come more testing, as well as more hospitalizations and deaths.

A focus on COVID-19 testing will come into sharp relief as Talk Ten Tuesdays continues with the second portion of its three-part series on false-positive tests. During the next edition of the popular weekly Internet broadcast, Talk Ten Tuesdays co-host Erica Remer, MD will reintroduce Arnold Cohen, PhD, who has been doing groundbreaking work on COVID-19 false positives.

Dr. Cohen will report on the consequences of false positives for patients in long-term care facilities. Putting a human face on the testing dilemma will be Brian Kim, who will report on his real-life experience of false-positive testing results, and how it wreaked havoc on his family.

Also on top for the broadcast:

  • News Desk: Timothy Powell, compliance expert and ICD10monitor national correspondent, will anchor the Talk-Ten-Tuesdays News Desk.

  • The Coding Report: Laurie Johnson, senior healthcare consultant for Revenue Cycle Solutions, LLC, will report on ICD-10 coding relative to mental health issues and their physical manifestations.
