Episode description

After the Commanders 37-20 Christmas Eve loss to the San Francisco, Logan Paulsen and Craig Hoffman take a look at the film to break down the loss. Logan and Craig start out by looking over the Washington’s offense in the 37-20 loss. Logan points out that the Commanders knew how the 49ers were going to play defense and the lack of changing the scheme was baffling. Craig says that there were issues with the Commanders following their own beneficial playstyle. Next, the guys take a look at the Commanders quarterbacking and at Heinicke’s performance. Logan says that he has to take back what he said in the postgame pod about Heinicke having a solid first quarter because he missed so many opportunities. Logan countered that while there were issues, he made amazing highlight reel plays. Also, the guys cover the red zone offense. Logan and Craig both agree that while this was a more efficient red zone offense, it was lacking in creativity. Finally, the guys take a look at the defense who while playing decently for the first half, fell apart in the second half against Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers. Both Logan and Craig emphasize how Kam Curl’s injury effects the defense. Also the guys point out that San Fran was calling wild stuff that seemed to have spooked Jack Del Rio.
