This is Tape twenty with Mattie and Kenzie Ziggler and I Heart Radio Podcast. Marry Christmas, Kidding, Mary Chrysler, I don't know why. We know everyone hated me last year because of that. Really, Hi, by the way, sorry, here is almost Christmas and I am stoked. I'm so excited. You know that made me think of you're stoked? You know what that made me think of? Because when we were little and we used to instead of Felice Naida, we would always say fleas on your dog. I know

we did say that. Why did we do that? I don't know. I remember everyone was so mad at me last year because every time I saw someone or textits someone, I was like Mary Chrysler because it's a it's like a vine. Oh you know, she goes Mary Grimace, Mary Chrysler and everyone that. I'm so sorry. I hope you Merry Christmas everyone. Christmas is obviously our favorite holiday. It's something that we look forward to all year long, not even for the presents. It's for you kidding. It has

nothing to do with the presents. It's because we tell her mom every single year we don't want anything, and she's like, I'm not going to get you anything so much, so we need to get mom a present. I know what I'm getting her, I already know, but we'll do it from us. It's really cute. I can't say it right obviously. She listens to all of these like religiously.

She's our biggest fan. No, I have a really good idea, but um yeah, I just love the I just love the Christmas spirit, the Christmas music, the snow that we're going to see, well, oh a huge moment. I'm going skiing for the first time. I've never done a snow sport before and I am from the snow, so that's kind of interesting. But that will be so much fun. Also, like guys, it's it's insane how much my mom goes out for Christmas. In terms of decorating. We have five

Christmas trees that go up in our house. Yeah, we do have five, one one to basement three and then one in our room. So there's there's only only three this year because we're not putting them in our rooms this year. That's completely fine because but it's gonna be so exciting. We have like a lot going on. I'm literally bringing Eddie and his family to Pittsburgh and they've never seen snow which is crazy. Well, I think everyone

else has bad Eddie has. Eddie has not seen He's going to be so good at snowboarding or has to Coda done it before, so he's already good. But the code is coming, but not on Christmas two days after Christmas. But I'm going to teach you how to ski. I'm nervous. Do you think I'm going to be really bad? We're

gonna be so good at it. I just have to not have fear, you know, I'm not gonna Well, I don't think you can go on the huge No, I don't into but I think that you will pick it up so fast because you have such good balance, because I don't have that good a balance, and I was fine with it. Interesting, Um, the holidays can definitely be stressful. What do you like? What do you think that is?

Do you think it's pressure of like everyone being in the spirit or is it like presents or is it family like it's a lot A lot plays into holidays like it's a lot. I feel like it's just the stress of like getting everyone a present, like hoping you don't miss anyone to get him a present. Or just

I feel like that's basically it. I mean, Mom probably has so much stress on her for um, Christians almost said Halloween for Christmas because she has to do all the presidents, she has to decorate the whole house, you know what I mean, Like I cook. I feel like now though, we've gotten to a point where it's a little less stressful in terms of like we have all gotten to the stage where we really just want to be with each other and send time with each other.

We don't care about anything else but that just eat good food and just like play games around the fireplace and just do fun things like that. And so I feel like there's less pressure because when you're young, everyone's like, oh I want this doll or I want this toy or whatever, and none of that matters. So it's like exciting now that we can just be present with everyone. Yeah, I know, Mom, Mom goes out for Hallow for Halloween. What is my problem? Mom goes out? Literally was so

long ago. Also, guys, for anyone that was wondering, yes, I did go out on Halloween, I know that we forgot to talk about it. Okay, literally Christmas didn't even go out with me, So it doesn't matter. Well I did go out if you're wondering, so cheers. I don't know what else to say about that. Cheers. Yeah, like hooray, like I did it. Yeah, thank god. Um. Have you ever had any big arguments during Christmas? Any big arguments? Um? I don't think so. Maybe like when Mom was like, okay,

I got you guys these like clothes. Yeah, maybe fighting over the clothes because once we got to a certain point we were the same size, and then she was like, I don't know what you'll want, so you guys just choose through these. That was like a hard thing. Yeah. I don't think we've ever really fought over anything or if we were ungrateful for any posit, even if we didn't want something or if we didn't like it, we would just be like, thank you so much, Mom. Yeah,

you know, keep it the best memories. When Kenzie was around like six or seven, I think we had opened all of our Christmas presents that it was amazing, and then Kenzie started crying and my mom was like, why are you crying, honey? And she was like, because I asked for a baby under the tree and you didn't get me one. And my mom was like, like you got your dolls just like no, I wanted a real baby and I wanted another sibling. I know, I was I was so young. I was like five. I think

you were like six or seven. But it's just so funny that, like our minds when we're little, so innocent and pure, and you just really wanted a baby in the family, in the family, like you didn't want to be that. You didn't want to be the baby, you know. Yeah, but I'm so I love being the baby now. I think it's more fun cute you are a little baby also.

You know, it was so much fun when we were younger, as when it came to the holidays at our dance studio, we would do like Secret Santa, and that was so much fun, and we'd play like when a dance studio we played White Elephant, and we would also do um Christmas games like crazy, and we'd all come to dance dressed up in like full Christmas outfits and it was so much fun. That was always like the best time

at dance, the best days ever. But it was so funny because every time we do Secret Santa, no one would keep the secret and we'd all know who we are getting gifts for exactly I would Maddie and I would always go out for our gifts for Secret Santa. Do you think that for Secret Santa there should always be a budget, because I think so. I think so

for sure. I mean we always did a budget, you know when we were young, especially that when we're young, like, oh, it's not normal for like kids to be like, yeah, spend whatever you want, um, But I just feel like it should just be more fun. Like we would get like little makeup palettes and we would get like just hair brushes and beauty sponges and like perfume like that.

It's such like an easy gift because White Elephant, it's like you get whatever you get, Like you can't really so it's like hard to do it for guys and girls. I remember that was a struggle one year getting a unisex gift. This is so much fun. Christmas is just the best time of the year. Also, Christmas music, like justin Christmas album is a top tier is elite. Honestly, it's so funny because like, realistically to the people who basically run Christmas in terms of artists are Michael Boublet

and Mariah Carey. But like we grew up with. Also Justin Bieber as like the head of Christmas, like literally his album was every thing to us. And also Ariana Grande has some good Christmas songs. Okay, wait, I haven't decided. I don't have much time, but I really want to put a Christmas tree up in my apartment because it's my first Christmas. God can I come? But of course I don't think I should get a real tree though, because I'm not going to be home for Christmas. Well,

Boost will also probably eat it. He would not eat a tree if he when you leave, he only tears up like toilet paper, wrapping paper like stuff like that. Oh my god. Speaking of well, I need to get you a gift or should we just settle and knocketting each other gift? I think I thought of what I was going to get you, even though I I know what I'm going to get. Mom, I know what I'm you know what you're going to get? Mom? Oh wait no, sorry, no,

we're doing this together. We have to chat on the side. Okay, I'm going to ask you some questions. This is an interview. Mackenzie. What's your favorite holiday movie? You're gonna make me pick I think ELF. I was just we were just watching ELF two nights ago. Is now watching it. It's so funny because I remember when I was younger, I didn't laugh as much. Really well, now you laugh in a different way. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like it was, it was more like comedy. But now I laugh at

it because it's so cute. And I love when he walks into the World's Best coffee places and he's like, congratulations, World's best cup of coffee and then he goes hi. I just think it's so funny because he's so awkward. Reminds me we need to stop talking about boots. But he actually, wait, why that's so awkward? No, but actually that movie reminds me of like us, like how our hum is. Also, when he's like sitting in the bathroom, watch he's singing and it just starts like he says,

it's so good. Elpha is such a great movie. Okay, next question, Okay, okay, fine, why why are you interviewing? This is our podcast trying something? What is your favorite holiday song? I love baby It's Cooled Outside. That's a great song. But I also like Mistletoe by Justin Bieber. That's a great song. What about what's the good Michael blue Blay song? See, all I'm thinking about it is all I want for, Like that's stuck in my head. It's great. Or what about Santa? Damn me? If you

what's your favorite holiday treat? There's holiday treats like you give. What's your favorite dessert during the holidays? Some pie, like apple pie, pumpkin pie, something, cherry pie pie, just something good? I guess applecot pie. I don't know. I'm just naming things. What's your favorite holiday treat? Um? Well, all the cookies are obviously delicious. Oh I forgot that's like a thing. Yeah, probably the cookie, but we have treats all year round,

so it doesn't really apply. I just I totally blank because, like you know, also, we just had apple pie the other day, and I'm like, is that like a Christmas thing or like, well, I think it's a holiday thing, but we kind of just do it year round. Got it? Pie is so delicious? I used to hate it. So why what are your holiday plants this year? Maddie? I don't know. We're doing the same thing, you weirdo. We're

literally okay, so we're going to Pittsburgh. We're going to this place called Seven Springs, which is basically like a snow lodge cabin, like you stay in these little cabins and then you go like skiing and snowboarding. And we used to actually compete up at Seven Springs. It's so and we used to have like competitions there, which is so weird. But now we're going to just relax and go like do some snow sports, which will be a first for me but not for you. And they have

like an arcade, they have like a bowling alley. This is going to be so much fun. And then we also are bringing our dogs. Well just undecided on Boots yet because they actually don't let dogs that big on a plane, which he's not even that big, but we have to figure that one out. But yeah, that'll be never seen snow before. Can you imagine Boots and Ivy running in slow mo in the snow? Oh my god, Well I can't imagine Boots liking snow because he doesn't

like sand and snow is cold. Ivy's going to break out, I think, does Malabo like the snow. And we just have so many fun things too. We should also go some even though I'm not so bad at it, but we should go ice skating at like the rink that we always go to, and we should also I need to take you to the Goodwill in Pittsburgh that is my favorite good one, so good. I know that was really random, but also like we have so many things that we need to do. Like also, it's our first time,

like well, no, Dakota's ben to Pittsburgh. This is the first time Eddie's going there, and he has to meet like my brothers and like our some of our friends and family, and also just like we should just show them around Pittsburgh a little bit more. I don't know, Yeah, I think it'll be I think the holidays with like your significant other or like your friends is like the most fun thing. I don't spend Christmas with Eddie last year. Um no, so this is your first Christmas together that

we've spent. Like the months are like the weeks right before and then right after, but we were together on Christmas, so this will be really fun. I feel like it's going to be kind of an overwhelming feeling for him, just because our Christmas, our family, just Christmas so big, and like it's going to be a lot of energy. But I think he's ready to just dive in, Like

he seems really excited. So it's gonna be great. I think it's so cool for us to all come together and relax and just not work and don't have to think about work and just like live our best lives in Pittsburgh around the nature and all the snow. It's going to be beautiful. And they were also spending New Years there, so who is Oh are you not? I don't know. I'm decided. Okay, well maybe you should tell me that before, so then I don't go by myself

for New Year's. I'm just standing there by myself, like

watching the ball drop. It's so funny though, because like New Year's is such a thing where it's like you don't really have that much fun when you're not illegal, like when you're not twenty one, because people go out, but like we just like sit home in a base in our basement and watch the TV and watch the ball drop, and then we're like, okay, can I exactly it's not as fun, but I feel like it'd be more fun to be in New York when that is okay, let's go to New York. It's literally from say, that's

that's our plan. We could take the train, the meg the or we could take the megabus. Yeah, the megabus. We should go see the Rockets perform. We always did. My god, wait, what are we doing? Why don't we plan? Let's do it, We'll do it today. Maybe we're going to forget guys. Um, do you think you're good at buying gifts for like your friends or significant others because I think I'm such a good gift giver or family. Yeah,

I would say I'm pretty good. But I also have recently been trying to find more personal and like meaningful gifts rather than just being like I A bout you, this personry about you, this necklace? Like I'm trying to find things that are more like personal what about you? Well, sorry my hair. Well you're just creative in that way, like you can make things, you can right things. I'm I'm not creative in any way. Like that's not true. Well no, no, like I just you know what I'm

talking about, totally in the art department, our department. So I kind of like, Okay, I'm just gonna have to buy them a present and that's it. Totally. Remember one year for Christmas, when I like. My gift to you was I like redid your room, I like painted you like the paintings that go above your bed, and I got you like new decorations for your room. Yeah, that was so cute. What did I get you? I don't remember.

Probably nothing. It's it's really hard getting each other gifts when also we're we already like have beyond what we even need, you know, like we're so grateful for that that we have so many amazing like things already that. Yeah, I just don't expect a gift from you what I expect to get from you either. Also, like when you're younger, it's like your mom buys a gift and then you say it's from you. Yeah, or do you still do that? Um? No, When did I get you last year? Nothing? Right, I

don't remember. No. I got your shoes. I got your shoes. I got you Jordan's didn't I maybe I think you don't even remember. That's the time just goes behind. I definitely got your shoes, because remember I sent you a picture of the shoes and I was like, hey, what size? But what are you? I think I got a different Oh, you got me a blue, black and white pair, and you were like, Kenzie, I was going to get those, and I was like, yeah, but I have to figure

out what I'm getting. We shouldn't make a snowman this year. What it was so random? Oh my gosh, you don't want it is so funny this this pool Brent like with the floaties. Probably no, it's like blow up things. They sent me sleds, blow up sleds for us to use. Could we use them in our neighborhood? Yes, Mom shipped them home. That's so exciting. So basically, if for reference, like in our neighborhood, we we live on like there's big hills and when it's snowy, you just go sledding,

and like your neighborhood and it's one hill. The one hill is so good. And sometimes we'll use like cardboard, like we don't even use just like a sled. We'll just use the cardboard and slide down. Remember, okay, we have a golf cart in Pittsburgh. And remember when you got she decided it was a good idea to drive the golf cart up a massive hill of our neighbor's house and definitely got stuck. Oh yeah, I know. The battery died and Greg had to like go up and

shovel around it and try and get it down. It was. It was crazy. Well because we use the golf cart to carry a huge mini pool, like a mini pool to to slide down, so we had to bring it up the hill and then we got stuck on the hill, so we were like, okay, what do we do? That was That was a wilder experience. But We're gonna have so many good memories. I'm so excited and Christmas is just the best time ever, the best feeling. I'm so excited. I just wanted to happen like right now. Okay, well,

everyone to have a beautiful Christmas. I hope everyone has a happy holiday and happy new Year. And this is so exciting. I'm excited for the new year to me too, sending love. We always end the so weird, I know. Well, Merry Christmas and happy Hanukah. True it is to Thanks so much for taking twenty with us. If you had fun, please give us five stars.
