This is Take twenty with Mattie and Kenzie Ziegler and I Heart Radio Podcast. Hey guys, welcome back. This is a really special and weird episode because, first of all, it's just gonna be me leading this episode, which is weird, but I also have my best friend here. This is Dylan Conrique. Hello, so weird. I know this is so weird. Um, but yeah, I thought it would be so cool to have you on just because we ramble so much and

like we're so weird together. Right. Um, So, first, I think we should talk about your new song because it's really I feel like it's really important to you and it's actually my favorite song you've done. So yes, so emotional. Do you want to talk about? Um? I wrote this song Birthday Cake two years ago my best friend Kaylee you know her. Um, she lost her mom I would say about sixteen. She was twelve years old. Um, she lost her mom and her mom's birthday ten days before

she passed. UM. And so I kind of like made this song for Kaylee to listen to and like have, so you know she ever needed it, she had it. Um, she told me to put it out. So then I was just like, um, really hesitant about it because it was so like emotional and specific to her story that I was nervous, and then I put it out and it kind of really helped everyone, I guess. Yeah, I

think it was. I think it was so cool looking at the other videos I was going through and there were so many people that were going through the same thing also, so I'm sure it also made Kaylie feel great. Yeah, she loved it. She was I think she was also proud that like it was helping other people going through the same thing as she, and also she kind of realized that she's not alone and that you know, a lot of people go through this course. Yeah, that song

is so special. Um, but let's get into some best friend questions because I feel like a lot of people I love our friendship, but they don't know how we met. They don't know like what we do together. Um, so how did we first meet? Okay, I want to say we first met. I have a picture of it. It was in seventeen. It was in um and I don't know what month or around the time it was, but

seen and we met at CityWalk. Oh you're right, Yeah, we met at city Walk through a friend and I went to dinner, right, I think so suh we went to and um, I don't think we ever went to Universal that day. I think we're just hanging out there. But that was a thing like for some reason, our whole friend group and like people outside of our friends would go to City Walk but not Universal, like literally would go and walk around and do absolutely nothing every time.

We would never go into Universal. Never. Never. But yeah, I now, I my first impression of you, I would have to think, because I thought you were really funny from the start. I mean we were literally on top of each other in a picture the first time you met. Um. But yeah, I just thought you were so so funny, and so I was like, yeah, she's definitely going to

be my friend. I was. I was nervous mainly because you know, I've only been there for two years, I believe, and um, you know, like I wasn't making a lot of friends. And then when like I met you, I was like, oh, this is really cool and I was like, don't mess it up there. You need some friends, and we just automatically clicked. Yeah. We were like we were hanging out a lot back then in and then we like topped hanging out for I would say about a year and then we like and then during quarantine was

like our time that we were like the closest. No, it was before that, well, no, it was before, but like in quarantine, we were spending every single day together because obviously you couldn't leave your house, So Dylan stayed at my house literally weeks, like it was weeks, and we would sit in my dark room with the blinds closed, the lights off, and we will be playing sims and roadblocks like that's still all we do. I think the

longest we played was probably twelve hours. Yeah, yeah, twelve hours. Sometimes my sister would join the mix, sometimes someone else do. It's like it was. It was hilarious. We never left that bed. We never went outside either. Why why would we only to make like TikTok videos when we were born. What is your favorite quality about me? Favorite quality? Putting you on the spot. That's a hard one. I'm done. Favorite quality. I think that you are such like a

you even you can admit it. You're a people pleaser, hud um, but you also go out of your way to make sure that everyone's okay around you, And you go out of your way to make sure that everyone feels the same exact love um that you give to everyone. So I think that's one of your best qualities I

think for you. I was about to ask you, what's I think you're just you make every situation not awkward, Like if we're out with people that we just met, you are you make it like so normal because a lot of you know how Dylan's personality is from just like what I post, But she seems shy when you first meet her. But she's crazy and she's hyper, and she's fun and like the most like straightforward person ever.

And that's why I think we get along so well, because we're both so weird and like we we blast music and just like dance in my room for hours, hours, and we'd be like, wait did we just dance for like right? Why do you think we get along so well? Though? Honestly, I think we're both just weird and like we both have the same interests and the same things, you know, with playing video games and stuff, so we just automatically

click on that level. But also, like I'm very honest and like when we go out with like friend groups that we like have not met, like I purposely make things awkward. Oh, that's that's what it is. You don't not make it awkward, but you like try to make it so then everyone can kind of like chill out a little bit. But also like you're like the mom of the group, you know, Yeah, like the mom of

the group, and everyone loves that. Yeah. I think we get along so well because obviously, like we said, we share the same interest, Like I feel like we have the same music case. We play video games constantly, which is like none of my other friends do. So it's pretty fun. And I don't know, like we we can just hang out and do absolutely nothing and we really want to and it's like the best time ever of us just sitting in Dylan's room or in my room. We don't have to go out or like you know,

like make plans to have fun. We just like automatically have it right, And she's the only person I really hang out with, So it's pretty nice. Imagine I just needed you imagine this is how I found out, Like I actually wish I could hang out with someone else, but you're not my only only option I have. Um, what do you think our favorite activity is to do together? That's like I want to say, it's pretty easy to say,

I would say video games. Yeah, we still to this day will like no matter what, even if we're not with each other, we'll face on each other and play video game. You know. It's so weird. Or something we've been doing recently. There's this place called the Rage Room, and you go and just break stuff with like a bat, a bat and a sledgehammer and like a crowbar, and you can like break a TV, you can break a car.

And when we're both like when one of us is in a sad mood or if one of us is like going through something, we just go out and get our anger out. Yeah, we just go and smash and blast music, and we film it all. We film it all, and it's like the best thing ever. It's so funny watching it back because you can see us like thinking in our heads, so you can see it's like having conversations with each other with bats in our hands, and we're just like we almost hit each other every time.

It's like really bad. It's so funny. What do you think one of our embarrassing moments or stories together? I feel like I can think of so many, but I just don't know what they are. I can't really think about embarrassing moments. Wait, well we're always embarrassing ourselves. Okay. One, okay, one that we don't tell a lot of people is we watched Barbie movies. Um, you didn't have to tell that. I just had to because it's so embarrassing. Okay. They're

really really good at guys. Like I don't know why I never liked them when I was little, but for some reason, like I kind of like them. And why, I know, why do we like them? I don't know. I think I don't even know. I can't even explain it. Just try it out. Just try it out. They're like on a sleep so good. Yeah, like they're interesting. Yeah. It was a joke at first, and then we were like, oh, we actually like, yeah, do you think it's important to have each other's approval on a guy? I mean yeah,

yeah for sure. Um, I think we've both you know, like learned, you know, we've learned through the past and stuff. Um, but we've also learned like not to give like so much input on a relationship because I think we both learned, like we both have to learn on our own, you know, but also still be there for each other when we

need each other. Oh, There's been times where I'm like, Dylan, you're an idiot, And there's been times where I'm like, literally, tell the boy, don't tell Dylan's boy, you're an idiot, because I Dylan's on one person that I'm like so other than like my sister, Like I'm so protective over her, and I'm like, if someone's gonna mess with her, I'm going to mess with them. And Dylan would do the same thing for me. She seems small but pretty mighty.

She's mighty, She's mighty. Um. Yeah, I think it's really important to have like input. I don't approval. I think that's like the wrong word. But I would say, like, you know, input and like if they ask for your opinion, you know, give your honest opinion about them, but also don't get in the way of it, because you want that person to learn and grow from that situation. Of course, I think like my past relationships, no one was really

honest with me. You were, but just because they were just like she seems really happy, Like I was like no, and Dylan was like no, And but she's always right, That's the thing. So you have to remember I'm always right. I'm always right. Yeah, I think we've both done that. Yeah, all right, I we should do some rapid fire questions. Okay, wait, I'm nervous. Is it it like questions about you that I have to answer? Because I'm gonna be honest, I don't really know your favorite color. I don't think you

ever told me you definitely know my favorite color. We're gonna say these questions and then you'll answer mine, and I'll answer yours favorite candy yours or mine? Wait, you answer mine? It's my favorite candy, favorite candy. I don't know. I don't ever see you eat candy. Oh wait? Yeah, yeah, you don't like chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, just chocolate. I don't know. Give me a hint, give me a hint there, really yes, not like twigs or anything. I feel like you would

like snickers. Do you might be wrong about that? What twigs? Yeah? Okay, yeah, I knew you're you're some sort of chocolate fan. Okay, favorite TV show right now, favorite TV show right now for you? For you? Uh no, no, I'm disappointed. Well, we won't get into it. What Listen. The reason why is because season one is so good. I'm not saying any spoilers, but season one was so good. It was so season two is like a setup episode for season three.

Like it literally does not make sense. But I don't want to talk about it because I'm going to go get heated because it's my favorite show. It's not my favorite show that season one's my favorite show. Okay, Um, I know you're watching a show with Takota right now, but you've never told me. You're just like, hey, you want to watch a show right now? He's like, yeah, but like, I don't know what show it is. It's called The First forty eight. I have never seen that.

People might think I'm weird. It's a it's a prime show. Oh. I was about to say, it's like a love it's a crime show, and it's basically like showing how cops do their job. Oh like documentaries. I know you documentaries a lot. I love docu but yeah, it's kind of like that. But now I want to be, like, I want to be a forensic scientist or something. We should get those unsolvedness trade boxes. Dude, A hundred, your favorite TV show right now is Shameless. It kind of was like,

you know, I'm in the middle of it. I can't really watch it. Why, Um, mainly because there's just a story behind it. But it is my favorite show, Like, I love that show a lot. What's my favorite color? Favorite color? Um? Do you wear it a lot? I would say you would say, well, like not more than Do we have the favorite more than black and white? Yeah? I think? Yeah? Yeah, Okay, I was getting here are you no? We're in here, Dylan, You're right, okay. Favorite

favorite emoji to use, favorite emoji to use? Um, you use the this one, the one that the tongue out with the eyes going crazy only emoji I use that is really I hate emojis. I think you use the crying yeah emoi the most. I use that one a lot, mainly, which I don't know. I think it's really funny when people use that emoji for actually crying. No, I use it for like I'm literally crying laughing, but you know, unless I'm really crying. And I might use three of those.

Favorite nickname for you, Kenzie Boobo my favorite. I don't think you could say your favorite nickname. I don't think you can. Okay, Well I call her Dill. Yeah, it's a about it. Yeah, Um what else do I call you? Um? Phil pickle? That's sometimes I weirdly call you like if I'm like serious, I'll say and then you're like, um, don't ever say that. She's the only one that can call me that, literally, the only one. Um, well, what's what's my celebrity crush? You want me to say it?

I mean, yeah, Justin Bieber? Mm hmm yeah. And oh my gosh, there's an an. Yes, there's an and you know who it is? Oh Asap Rocky. Yes, yes, Okay, why did I blank on that? That should have been the first. Okay, I'm yours. Just Tom Holland, Yeah, Tom Holland and who else? Justin Bieber? Yeah, you're right. Listen, Dylan and I were supposed to go to the Justin Bieber concert last week, I thinks, and we were about

to be falling in the audience crying. We were obviously going to see Eddie, my sister's boyfriend, but obviously we were crying for Justin Bieber. And it got canceled because of COVID. So but with which July, Oh we're gonna go to never mind? Never mind? I was about to say so, and I are like, if we have to drive somewhere to go, we will, we will. Um, what's my favorite clothing store? Clothing store? I don't think you you just thrift a lot. That's true, you thrift a lot.

There's one. There's one on that main street. I don't want to say the street. You're like, you know, give it out. No, Um, you took me to. Oh yeah, it's a cool one. It's called super thrift Store. It's really cool. Yeah, I didn't get the title of it. Your favorite store is, dude, I honestly don't know, because it's not urban outfitters. No, it's starts with an a ritz ritz. I think that's how you're saying. I don't. I don't really know. Yeah, yeah, told me that I

love that place. We I don't want word together. We just kind of are in sweatpants the whole time, but we don't really look at that stuff. Um. Your favorite artist? Who's your favorite artist? Who? Do you know? You listen to like everything? I really do. I listen to countries. Sometimes I listen to rap. That's only when my brother's friends are in the car, mainly because I want to feel cool, you know, I just want to like blend in. Um. But I listened to country and I also I've been

listening to lenin a lot. Oh, you're right, we yea so much. Yeah, but that's like she's a fan favorite. Yeah for sure. Who's my favorite artist? Your favorite artist? Um, you were literally about to see him. I don't know his a, but you were about to see him in concert and then you missed it. Yeah. Yeah, I was waiting at the Hollywood Bowl and I literally heard his last song. But he was an opener, so like it was easy to miss. But it's fine. Um, what's our

favorite comfort food? Like, what do we eat together? Crepes? Crepes, crapes and pasta pasta? We have been having a lot of pasta. Um, Like what do we order when we're at your house? We ordered a chick fili? Yeah, what do we order? Or we just eat like popcorn or chips or something. Yeah, but I would say mainly we've been like every time at your house, we probably order crepes almost or in and out, in and out when it's like late you go. Um, what's your favorite movie?

I mean, what's my favorite movie? Because I need to answer your favorite movie? Um, probably the Barbie movie with the Dolphins. You know, that's my favorite Barbie movie for sure. But um, I but my my favorite movie is ten things I Hate about you? Oh you know that I do. You've told me that your favorite movie is probably I don't even know if Incredibles or something.
