This is Take twenty with Mattie and Kenzie Ziggler and I Heart Radio Podcast. So today's National Siblings Day, and it's only fitting to do an episode about loving each other. We. I think it's very appropriate. Obviously we're sister podcast. We if you didn't know we are sisters, just really, um we met. I think that's so funny that people ask sisters when they've met, but it is true, Like you, I met you at the You're like one years old. Sorry,
It's just a funny concept to me. Imagine just being like, yeah, imagine sorry, guys, imagine me walking up to you out of the womb and I shake your anima time. I'm Maddie, I'm your sister. Nice to me. You're so dumb anyway, Um, I hope there's some siblings watching, are listening so that we can relate our sibling stories. I don't know, and maybe you don't relate and you just want to know our relationship is I think to um for some people may not know this, but we have a lot of
other siblings. Actually, we have like half and step siblings. We have two half brothers, we have two two seven brothers, and three step sisters. Yep. Yeah, that's so how many is that? That is? Seven? Seven others? Seven others? But we are blood, full blood, we are sisters. But um, our half brothers are basically your brothers just because we grew up with them for a period of time and we still like are because we are the youngest, like Kansas the youngest, then it's me, and then all of
our other siblings are older than us. But um are one of our half brothers, Tyler, we don't really say half though he's our brother. Tyler. He came out to visit with his girlfriend, and we hadn't seen him in like so long, so besides I mean, we saw him at Christmas, but besides that, It's been like four years or three years since I've seen him. So it was so exciting that I got to um have him come
stay at my place. It was so fun, like I really enjoyed it and I had the best time, especially because you know, our most of our family lives in Pittsburgh, so every time we see them, it's in Pittsburgh. So it was so weird to see Tyler in l A. I mean, he came to l A when we were like eight years old, and you're like ten. But it was so weird bringing him here now because I was like, this is such a weird moment, but it felt really nice.
It must be so weird for our brothers to like talk to us now as like young adults, like we're all on a level where they're not just like oh there are little baby sisters, like we're all we can all have like normal conversations now and it's not you know what I'm saying, and like we work like it's just the dynamic has changed and stuff. That's true. I can't imagine how they feel probably just like whatever I mean. Also, are Kenzie and I are aunts now? Because my brother
has two kids. They just had their newest baby. They have two boys. How cute that they had two boys, and like Ryan grew up as him entirely so cute. He's like repeated what he grew up with as. But I think it's so cute and it's so weird that we're aunts, like I are brothers kids. It's always think that's so weird because like you think of an aunt as being like an older, like an older like but
fun and crazy, like we're literally our aunt. We're no I'm talking about like literally our aunt the crazy fun Yeah, exactly, but like it's so weird. Anyways, we're not talking about aunts, We're talking about siblings. It is a national aunt. Do people say aunt. I think it's up for debate. I think you can say whatever you want. Um. But yeah, Kenzie and I and I know we've talked about this. Um. I think kind of, like in the introduction of our
first episode, we've had quite the journey as siblings. Just I don't know, going from growing up together and working all the time and like fighting, which all siblings fight. If you don't fight with your siblings, then I'm confused, right, But like I we've had our ups and downs, but I feel like now we're at such an amazing like point in our relationship. Do you think so? Yeah? I mean now like we wear each other's clothes, Like I'm
literally wearing Maddie's. That was probably that was recent though, that was no like that, Like no, it was a few weeks ago when I borrowed your sweatpants and you're like, yeah, you can take them home, And I was like wait, what, Like this is weird. It's called growth because obviously every when you have a sister and you guys are like close to the same age and you can wear each other's cloth or the same size except for shoe size.
Thank goodness. That's the worst. But that's the worst because my mom and my sister shared the same shoe size. And I'm literally like, she's actually a bigger foot than me. So but she fits in all your shoes for some reason. And I am just left with I can shop at the kids section and buy shoes, sure, but you do have the same size shoe as my makeup artist Tanya. You know this, No I don't. And she has the
best shoe collections if you are listening. But I guess that was really the only thing we really really thought about when we were younger was closed. I did think about, like, and I'm not trying to make you feel that, but there were times or like call you out, But there were some times although you're younger, you're you're just you were really good at manipulating the situation for sure. That's not yeah, that's fine. We would First of all, we'd
always bribe each other. She'd be like, like, we'd make like if you do this transactions, yeah, exactly. Kenzie Kensie taught me how to do that she's like, okay, you listen here, She's like, you go get me, you go get me a cookie. Almost saw your back minutes and then I'd come back and she'd be like sleeping. She's like she's tired. And then I remember, I don't even
know if you remember this. It was our first house we lived in, like when our parents were still together, and I remember you hit me, You smacked me, and then you ran to mom before I could and you said, Mom, Maddie hit me. Like that was the relationship. Like that was like the vibe we had when we were younger. It makes sense though, like we're a little we're only twenty months apart two so like we're so close, which is so weird. By the way, I feel so much
younger than Maddie. Really, I did not know that you felt that way. I tell everyone you're mentally like. I think the only thing that really pushed me to like I guess why you feel that. It's because I have lived on my own. I think that's probably. I feel like you've just always been like ahead of your time. That's nice, which is a really good thing. You're like, that's a compliment. No, it is a compliment. Like you, you're very mature, so are you though you and I
would say two maybe why maybe now? I don't know if you would feel that now as much are you do? Okay, that's weird. That's weird, so codd I talk about it all the time. That's so interesting. I mean, I do feel like older than my age, but I also, like I think too, it depends who you're surrounding yourself with situational for sure, totally, I think now more than ever. And also because you are the oldest obviously than you've
ever been. But it's like you now, maybe in the past you've surrounded yourself with friends that maybe we're more mature than you were, So you kind of have to like go to that. You have to meet that level so that you can have common ground and like interact like normally without having to feel like, oh my god. Right, you know, they're like, you know what I'm saying, you doing yourself down sometimes, and I think that's what you
had do for certain people. And now like you literally have a place of your own and you're like you've been with your boyfriend for a while, like you you're you work, like Hey, I'm like fine, I'm fine. I'm fine, everything's fine, everything's fine. No, but that's just like she's crying. I'm bawling my eyes out. No, it's no. We just always my friends and I always talked about it. We're just like Maddie feels older than her age, probably because I go to bed at maybe that's why. Maybe, or
like you wake up at like seven thirty. No, I don't wake up at seven thirty. I actually actually woke up earlier than you today because I called you like seven today. It's because you're moving. I just haven't. I have not slept, so I don't know how many hours. I don't know. There's just I don't know what right.
Um oh this is funny. Um. I feel like people already know this, but who um takes longer to like get ready, get their things sorted, like as like I want to like do something because I think a lot of people too, Like we look so different, like in terms of like our styles we have, I mean clearly we have similar like we it depends. It's it's weird because you have I think you are like the more edgier, cooler sister, and I'm just like, shut up, you were
like them today. I was hyping you up her whole closet. I'm just like, whoa, who's so funny? No, it's I think two were morphing now into like similar Like for a minute there we were. I was like very likely girly boho girl, and you were like like all all black, like very much that the chains and yeah, but like flames listen, some people can really pull it off, but I was not one of those girls. I found it in between. I finally found an in between where I can be like girly and edgy at the same time.
It works so good. And I think to like, you have a nose ring, like you're really cool, but you're really cool. Thanks, I don't have a nose ring. You don't need one. I don't want one. But I think, I guess for people, they must think we're so opposite, but we actually are very similar in a lot of ways. Like I would say, our characteristics are very different, but like our style and kind of like energy is similar. Think so like in terms of like getting ready and
like all of that. It's kind of morphed into the same thing, but in the past it was a lot different. I think you take longer to get ready though, if I'm taking my time. But did you see I showed you on TikTok I did the three minute makeup challenge? Yeah, and you killed it. I was able to do it. I think it just depends if I want to put thought into my even just getting ready and wanting to
post on Instagram. Like we're just like, oh, that's just such a hassle, Like, and we were just talking about it. We're like when we go and take pictures, we don't. We kind of like get we get ready, and then we're like, oh, should we go take pictures? And then we're like, we don't want to try too hard. Like it's always this thing where it's like I don't want to act like I'm trying, but I also want to
look good. So it's hard to take an insacript. So that's why I just avoid it until I'm with Maddie, because Maddie always makes my photos look good. And that's what's great about having a sibling. We're so useful to each other, right, No, but literally, also it's so nice to like, have you seen there's so many memes on
TikTok that are like my sister. They they post like the live photos, like the live photos of people, like what it sounds like in the background of your sister taking a photo of you, they're like sucking, Like turn your head to this way. It's so true that we're always going to look out for each other and we're always gonna be like, no, no no, that doesn't look good. Do it this way, like, because if we have each other's back and like, we can be as transparent as possible.
Like with some friends you never know, you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. But like with you, I'm like, I have to we have to be as honest as possible. I always I always tell you, like, I'm always honest about everything totally, So are you You didn't before? What do you mean? Like, I feel like you're now really honest. Like when I would wear my grung job, that's you'd be like, yeah, you look cute and she doesn't like it. I can't really like you know, but now I yeah,
I get that. Um who do you think is the first to apologize? Yeah? I think, well you're more stubborn m because I'm most of the time right, But god, okay, no, I mean no, we start having a full blown argument, but and just don't talk to each other. But that's
how our fights go. If we're if we're fighting over Maddie didn't bring my shirt back to my house yesterday, and then we don't talk to each other for a few days, and then Maddie comes over and like folds it and then gives it to me and like cleans it and she watches it and folds it and brings it over and then she's like, I'm sorry here, and I'm like or I'm just like so, like you know, you're still not talking to me, and they're like, I mean it's fine, Like you're just like over it. You
just don't give it energy. And I'm just like, are you okay? I'm like, I'm sorry. I don't know, like even sometimes it's not my fault and I'm like, I'm sorry. Well, that's just how Maddie is. Maddie's we're both people pleasers, but I'm an extreme. But she's like, if she's right, she's still going to say sorry, and if you know what I mean, Like, if I'm right, I'm also going to as right now where I I really and I think we both are. We don't really have many like friends.
Remember that sounds so sad, but like it's true, it's fine, Like you go through phases, it's fine, we're fine, we're fine. We literally are lonely. But it's like no, but like you're like you and Eddie are my best friends, like actually, which is like, oh my god, that sounds suppressing, but um um, listen, Lily, it's better that way. Okay, that's fine, I love I love it. Um. But yeah, so when you're mad at me, I'm like, I have no one else talk to you. I'm crying. Oh mom, I'm like
so good, so awkward. She's like, when it come over, we can get Chinese food and watch a Homemark movie. Like she's always actually, she's always like Maddy's sad, talked to her. That's always what happens. Or she'll vice versa. Kenzie's upset, you need to call her. I'm like, we're yeah, okay, but listen, like it's better to have like a few people. You don't just have me and Eddie. You have all
of your other friends like Tanya's. I have like four friends that are solid friends, and then I have like quote unquote friends that like you see out and you're friendly and yeah, of course, yeah, obviously but it's not like I would hang out with these people every day exactly. I would rather just hang out with the same story people every day than like it's a bunch of Yeah,
it's fine, but that's why. Also like too, with siblings, it's so nice because I know this is like cheesy, but it's like everyone's like when you have a sibling, you've a built in best friend. But it's like it's true. Yeah, that's true. I don't think we would be Like, do you think we would be friends if we weren't sisters. I don't think so. I that is such a good question. I don't don't know. I feel like you'd think I'm weird,
you would think you do you think I'm weird? Her and her friends have this whole discussion about We talked about it every day, so you know, I I think maybe we wouldn't be best friends, but I think we'd be friend quainsince like we'd maybe go out together, we'd have mutual friends. Yeah, that's true. I think we'd be friends. I really do. Like you know how you and your friends always have the discussion like if mom was their age, they would be friends with her, Like I I really
think we'd be friends. That is true. We are both weird. Yeah, but like we we have similar and yeah, we have similar interests. I would hope we were friends. Were still we're friends. Were trying to convince ourselves we would be friends. Yeah we're Yeah, we're friends for sure. Yeah, definitely best friends. Um, okay, describe me in three words as a sister, like as a sister, or like just you as a friend, if we were friends, you as a person, or you as a sister, me as a sister. Okay, well, like, I
mean that is the same. I'm a person, you know, I'm saying, Like if I was describing my friend, I'd be like, oh, you're cool, You're funny, But is it like you're messy You're describe Describe me just as a sister, Yeah, okay, you're a very clean sister or sister. Her skin is always looking clean, her hair is always looking nice. My hair is so crazy, I need to we both have great hair. Um, don't tell people that it's fine. Um, you're very funny. Thanks. I think you you make everyone laugh,
which is really really thanks funny. I'm delusional at this point, and I think you're very reliable. Also, really depends depends because sometimes like she'll forget or something. But if I'm like, hey, I need you to help me do this, and you're like okay and you come over, Yeah, that's true. I'm not very reliable. No, that's not true. You do. If I ask you to help me with something, you do for sure. But I'm saying like it just may just like make you a peanut and jelly in order for
you to do it, right. I yeah, but yeah, I think you're a very very reliable sister, Thank you, and just reliable in general. Thanks, that's so nice. But like you're cool, you have cool outfits. Thanks do you you're going to a makeup it's just turning inn um. I would say that you are extremely stylish, like you're just cool,
you're like an eight girl. Second, you are which most people people would actually know, you are very very kind hearted, Thank you, Like you're very you're you're actually so nice, like and you're so nice to your friends. Thank you. And the lastly, which dictate, which is like the opposite, is you're very strong minded and like confident in that way, like you're very good at like I don't know, like you stand up for yourself so my words were crap
compared to me. I mean, but that's really sweet. Thank you. That's but in conclusion, I'm so lucky. We are so lucky to have each being siblings. Having a sister is like the best gift ever because at the end of the day, friends come and go, but sisters will always stay and they're stuck with them forever. I mean, we could emancipate each other. Can you do that as a sister. I don't think so. We're still why would we do that? My best friend? Your mind too. Happy National Sibling Day,
