Biz Sugar Member Gail Gardner on Her Gig

Welcome to Swing that gig. I am Martin Lindesko. Today I will do a short and sweet episode. I have said that a couple of times but we'll do it now as a part three you could say of this work as an online community manager for some people and for me it was to be a moderator of share site called share.bissugar.com and it also developed a separate site or page with this name called B Sugar and Mastermind Community. And in you will get a bit of background.

Noxo also could reflect on this how as I talked about the challenge is to keep this community running, to have people working with it and how you earn revenue from

it. And also you could have then gig workers as a freelancer to get paid for what you're doing in the work to as I called it positive way to grease the wheel, to moderate things stuff to check comments to look at the votes to get rid of spam, to have a nice create a nice atmosphere do the marketing with outbound or and inbound and links and whatnot. So in 2019 and 2020 I did a follow up and a new season you could say or a series of episodes on my first podcast Ego Netcast on Captivate I have it

here. I will include that in show notes with B Sugar Focus Spotlight on B Sugar members and here I will include in the show notes B Sugar member Gail Gardner of Grow Map. So grow when you grow something and then map to have an atlas or a thing that to navigate like a compass. And it's interesting with that name also I will come back to

that. So on July so it's July 29, 2019 I interviewed B Sugar member Gail Gardner of GrowMap and she went took care of the B Sugar mastermind and she was a community manager and she talks about the work there she did so

it's interesting to see. And if you do a search on Captivate FM on my podcast page there so it's Ego Netcast, Ego Netcast Captivate FM and search search box where you do a search for Biz Sugar B I Z Sugar like the sweet in one word biz Sugar and then you will come find around 5, 6 episodes where with conversations and interview and talks with Peace Sugar members. So there listen to Gail Gardner of GrowMap and

you will find her on Twitter X and other places. And it's funny we have been in touch in contact through LinkedIn and other places and she is an active member. Also on now the Twitter chats the Xspaces with Eileen Smith And Deborah Anderson that started Social Cafe. Hashtag Social Cafe. And it's interesting to hear Gail's take and how where she located and how she could manage when to be a community manager in a rural area in America and how to get connected

and so on. So I think that's an interesting thing to listen to. And I was thinking of opportunities for future.

A community for small business in Scandinavia

So right now I'm talking to Niklas Lohmann about a community that he has built on his platform Heartland and it's something called Gacelle and I will see if I find it on Wikipedia. The definition of gazelle. You have unicorns, you have startups and whatnot and this is a level of company that have developed over time. So you're growing as grow map you're really growing your company to another level. So then they call like a

cell. And I think it's coming from the animal often it's in Africa I think right in Savannah in desert and running very quick and jumping quickly this animal. So when it's taking this jump to the next level in their business and then it's why they are called Gazelle

business companies. So they have gazelles of Scandinavia in Scandinavian as it says community for entrepreneurs and business men, people and women in that charge or development their companies in this rapid and this speed as a gazelle in a fast moving pace around in Scandinavian countries. I think maybe Nordics but they could be there also Finland also and it's Sweden, Norway, Denmark. I think Finland is included also in a way. I ask Niklas about that joke. It's talking

about maps. Where. Where do you find the Scandinavian countries on the map? So with that said I will also include because that's also what's part of the history could say so share bizsugar.com that site page is not available. It's going directly now to Bis sugar and there you have also this about page and it's saying right now there will be the about page there. And in the past it was a list and a text about us as moderators and a presentation of us. But as the community and the share

site. Share.bishugar.com is not available anymore. That I've explained in the past due to Google thing and the competition there in order to be able to found on searches. It's not relevant anymore. But as I say it's a time capsule timestamp and what you could do learn from that and what you could do in the future. So that's why I want to put this on the record also as A statement that I really liked this work and I look forward to do similar one in the future. And now as I said with CasualSoft

Scandinavia is working on that. Gail Gardner had plenty of ideas about that. I know others like Sean Hessinger had that. And of course I mean Anita Campbell had that. And then the new person Leland that's taking over the site, the technical guy, very good at that develop that to still be available on the net with information and where he's coming with now lead Segway.

You could say joke about this machine called Segway the Gadget, but it's spelled different way to move into a new related area to have this sugar and small business trends information in one place. It started out as a blog and now it's an online publication now how to be

found because you still search for it. And Stefan Albrecht that have been a guest on Victed Porridged by Corinne Coach and Corinne Blodge is certified master certified coach by ICF and she had been having a podcast podcasting around

for five years now and 100 episodes. And I have been her sidekick co host and producing and publishing and some episodes of this podcast Important for real you could say in Swedish by Corin Koch and one of the guests, Stefan Albrecht he got intrigued and interested curious about what could you do with the podcast. And also how could you build a community both physically like a digital town hall, the place that you go to physically in a in a city, in a

town. And how could you have online tool a place to go similar to a digital town hall. But I like that description of the community. So we recently there today we talked about that how could you do that in Sweden for small business owners in people finding information about small business everything every aspect of

small business. So that's something to think about. And maybe you as a listener could come up with ideas, applications, business cases for having a community, an online community and having a digital town hall. And then think of me and others as freelancers and gig workers how we could assist them, be of help and helping out in working with this online in a flexible manner. So with that I will take a sip of tea here. Maybe that could be a community also to joke

and cheerio and talk to you soon again. Bye for now. It.
