¶ Swing That Gig
Welcome to Swing that Gig. I am Martin Lindeskog. It's a bit interesting how the settings here on my computer, my MacBook Air M2 is doing for sound in and out and I starting to like more and more of this flow here with all the two. But I could do everything in one place with going and do a new recording and then the
file it's saved. So all the two here in the dashboard I have the intro and outro music in place and then start editing and then doing the transcript chapters, generating the AI summary to text, adding the show notes and then publish doing in a smooth operation. So again I hope you like it so far and please give me your feedback,
input, suggestions, ideas and so on. And it could be for example with the sound and audio quality, the volume, my voice and what do you like and what do you think could improve and whatnot. So it is about swinging that gig and that gig could be in different ways to find a new full time job side hustle and part time online business, et cetera. So I will come back to that. I have in a programme here that I'm doing with job searching
and other activities. We talked about the CV and that's the Latin word there and resume you often say the journey and the description of your life, your activities. Also the so called personal letter when you add to when you search for a position or in a job or spun in a spontaneous way and ask if it's any openings there or creating that. I think creating a job opportunity that will fit your profile. And when I was searching around on different templates for doing resumes and CVs and then
thinking about LinkedIn. So I will do a series here now on LinkedIn and to update my LinkedIn profile to also adding a Swedish version. I'll come back to that also because you had to have one profile but you could have several languages. I think maybe it's only two, but you could have that and how to think how to be found then by headhunters, recruiters, HR people and networking opportunities.
And so and also I will talk about this hashtag open for work and around this circle that you have around your profile picture what that generate when you adding that hashtag in in A post on LinkedIn is something that I'm curious about and the whole process. So I'll talk about the tool that I started using to create this resume and this personal letter. Now I could use that also for LinkedIn because I've had a LinkedIn summary feature.
So I will come back to that and it's interesting to go to this events and activities thinking about that. I remember it from America, an HR book, you could say a booklet and file of things about your career and the journey
here. Excuse me, I will take a sip of tea. So in the meantime and I will do that little bit back and forth because it's also a project for doing everything on all the two and I have this affiliate link there and I've been in talking about how I could promote this service for other podcasters where potential podcasters, new podcasters, experienced podcaster that want to have a simple flow and use everything in
one place. I think you have lots of alternatives out there, but it's very what Alto is talking about much. It's saving time and I have too many podcasts and I will start more probably with the co host because you could have it for every idea, every topic and then of course it define an audience to find is it any market so to speak for this? Do you have time for it? What will it generate? In different ways. But I get very inspired by listening on during
the Fridays here the live stream. It's not a podcast episode yet, but it's a live stream. And with the new modern podcast app you could listen to the live. I've been thinking of that for some podcasts, for example, plug the day to have a thing like a resume to speak to update about my well being, my health journey, what's going on in life, a good life because that's the main thing in order to keep up with this you have to be in a balance.
You have to feeling good, improve your health and the mind mindfulness about all these things. So I've been thinking of that and I will come back to that soon and in the near future.
¶ Claiming the Ownership of My Podcast
So today I'm now on American time. So American left coast time, west coast time for yesterday, so to speak. But I will keep chugging on and working on this. So this is again short and sweet, but I'm good at babbling as you have seen so far, claiming ownership of your podcast. And the backstory is that in the RSS feed where you had the contact information Apple wanted to have that if something is happening with the feed, they wanted to contact the owner of the feed.
Could maybe be something that RSS feed is broken or some things in it that is disturbing or not working smoothly in order to get updates and so on. So but then it was people using that because it was open so you could scrap the information and then send emails about things. It was one I think One one incident for example it was a podcast hosting company that took collected the data and sent out marketing their own service from another podcast
host hosting company. It was something, I don't know if it was something happened on the market and then they took the so called advantage of it. But that could hit you back and that's why my future role what I'm thinking about is customer experience, customer service so called the business intelligence that you're in touch with your market, listening to your customers. So that's a happy place here in the
podosphere. Now I have to take another CPR of tea and that's also what I'm saying thinking about to do this early in the morning to get it out in the door how to get started fresh in the morning. But you'll see I am a night owl person, night person, night watchman so but anyhow I have now managed to claim the ownership of this podcast. Thanks Sam Setti helping me with this. And this is pretty new host all the tools. So it could be some things that they are not having thought about.
It could be with Truevance fm it could be myself doing something that it shouldn't or something missing. But now I have claims. I have a badge on truefence FM but it's claimed. And with that you could get this wallet going so you could send satoshis receiving satoshi's bits of bitcoin. I will in the near future top up my wallet wallet with fiat currency. So I will get satoshis.
And you could often do it pretty, you know, good and decent and small amount for your budget like $10 or something like that per time and then you get around 10,000 less. Now Bitcoin is increasing in price or maybe the fiat currency is decreasing in value going to the bottom with dollars. Think about that. What's happening? Was it 1971 when I left the gold standard? Think about that. The real so called value of the US dollar nowadays compared to when it was backed by gold.
So then now Sam has an idea how you could promote yourself in a non intrusive way. For example overcast that I talked about. They have a premium thing that you could having ads related in a podcast so the listener will see it and then they could click and find your podcast. And I'm not so much for in a way downloads. Plenty of people listen but it could be fun to reach out to new audiences and spreading again the good word word of mouth marketing.
So I will test this new feature that you could have an ad you can say or it's more like your podcast artwork is showing up in different ways when the user of the service truefence FM is logging into the system or on on the app. Also to find in a so called carousel what's depending on your settings you could see where it's from from a country, from a category and also new and noteworthy.
You can say this Apple podcast feature that they had it was lots of talk about that some years ago that you should be new and noteworthy and be found there and it was a bit of gamification. It was a algorithm but it was hand curated and it was hard who will be there and when it could be like we spike and what happened after you have been there for some time. So I think in organic growth over time to be found word of mouth marketing. But it could be also that you want to promote certain episode.
It could be that you wanted to test it. So I will do that on this so called carousel and having it for you could have it for I think it was was it a week, a month and 90 days. So it it will be that the small podcasters and with limited budgets also could have a space. Not only that the big players will take take over so to speak and book the whole calendar or add calendar. So I'm happy with that and talk more about different features of all the two and on truevance fm.
