The Hornets returned to the field in 2021 and had a typical Alabama State season, they finished 3-3. They did find their future at quarterback in Ryan Nettles and Ezra Gray had a huge game on TV against Jackson State. Their defense kept them in games but their lack of consistency on offense and special teams kept them from taking the next step. We will discuss their season here.
The Spring season has come and gone, and I wanted to provide a team by team recap of their individual seasons. First up is the Bulldogs of AAMU, their season was by far the most interesting of any team in the SWAC. Multiple cancellations and postponements of games led to them having nearly a month off, but they were able to endure the adversity and win the championship. We will breakdown their season here.

We have officially made it to the end of the Spring Season, this journey was interesting to say the least. But we had one last game to take care of and it was a good one. Before the season began there were 4 games on the schedule, by the time the season started there were 3 games. A few weeks later there were 2 games remaining on this weeks schedule, by the end of the week there was one game left. On Saturday less than half of that game was played. Our roller coaster ride of a season continues, after a week that saw 3 games postponed, we have another interesting week. We have Southern vs UAPB in a SWAC West battle. Jackson State vs Grambling in Coach Sanders SWAC debut. PVU vs Texas Southern in the Labor Day Classic in the Spring. And Alabama A&M vs MVSU....wait scratch that...AAMU vs South Carolina State?? We'll discuss all the action.
It's officially game week and we are here to cover it all. We are already minus two games due to Alcorn opting out (AAMU vs Alcorn) and due to the weather in Dallas (GSU vs PVU). But there's still lots of action to cover. And we will also cover the debut game of one Coach Sanders. Some come and join us on this SWAC journey.
Our tour around the SWAC wraps up with a stop in Pine Bluff to talk Golden Lion football. And would you look at that, we actually made it (unless something crazy happens) to a real life football game, Jackson State hosts Edward Waters College. We'll give as much of a preview as we can on the debut of Coach Deion Sanders. Also we will give a quick rundown of the Fall 2021 schedules.
