Podcast 013 – hectic

Après une longue pause, revoici une nouvelle édition du podcast SUR LE BEAT qui nous vient de la part d’hectic.

Active depuis le milieu de la décennie 1990 dans le milieu de la musique montréalais, elle fut d’abord connue dans les raves comme DJ jungle/DnB, pour ensuite passer à l’électro et au Techno.
Durant ces années, elle organise quelques soirées et partys pour ensuite aboutir à CISM, où elle animera l’émission Les Électronautes de 2003 à 2008. Ce passage à la radio lui permet d’ailleurs de faire connaissance avec de nombreux artistes internationaux. Elle mit fin à l’émission afin de déménager à Berlin pour pousser ses pratiques artistiques, qui incluent la peinture en plus de la musique.
En 2011 après l’écoute d’une session d’un artiste argentin, elle décide de fonder un label, sous le nom Metaphysik, qui fera la rencontre de genres, tout en brouillant leurs frontières.
La première parution, Solitude, sorti en avril dernier, est une pièce Electro/Techno de l’artiste Paka. Le second release sortira bientôt et sera de l’artiste argentin susmentionné…

After some off time, SUR LE BEAT podcast comes back in full effect with a mix from Berlin-based hectic.

Active since the mid-90s on the Montreal music scene, she was first known as a Jungle/DnB DJ before moving on to Electro and Techno sounds. During those years, she also organized music nights and parties, to finally find a home on CISM, where she hosted Les Électronautes from 2003 to 2008. Through that show, she was able to meet numerous international artists, and she put an end to in order to move to Berlin to further her artistic endeavours, which include painting as well as music.
In 2011, after listening to an argentinian artist’s session, she decided to create a music label which would be a conduit for the meeting and meddling of genres, under the name Metaphysik. It’s first release, Solitude, which came out last April, is an Electro/Techno piece by artist Paka. The second release should be out shortly and will feature the aforementioned Argentinian artist…
