Hello, hello. Hello, and welcome back to the progressive, rock podcast and opener. That's what you said. He at the beginning when you remove clothes. Yeah. Okay. Hello, hello. Hello. Welcome to the super WrestleMania podcast and terrible. Good. That's what the chat jpt cuz I'm with fun. Yeah. Okay, there were real one this time. Okay. Hello. Hello. Hello and welcome to the super chuckle Mania podcast. We're here with all the hullabaloo for episode 101. Today we have with us player.

I have all my notes for Son, of the times Super Deluxe Edition track one. Ready to go, toe jam. I can outdo that I've got all my notes for the unreleased Diamonds and Pearls, special edition track, one, ready to go and Captain. I don't think we're doing any of that crap, and I guess I'm Rob S. Fading in fading in for a supertracker Mania. Did you know, we're at approximately 100 percent for episode 100? We are functioning at 100%.

That is something that's been. It's been a while approximately Ralph. How are you? Good, hello. Hello, it's easy. It is so it is really just so bizarre to even hear your voice. Well, if you listen to the obsessed by music podcast, it wouldn t bizarre. Do because you When I shout at the thing you don't answer back to me. Yeah. You will? I'm not? Yeah, I haven't. Yes, I need to be more active online. Adding yes. Oh yeah, it's see.

The thing is you do put episodes out but then you don't say it. Like if you're not subscribed to it and you don't put anything on Twitter or anything people don't know. Yes. There were some technical difficulties recently. Without happening a little bit, a little bit worried of your life. Yeah, a little bit too often but it's there. Goes back on track. Everything's ready to go. And hopefully these Twitter, you know, the automatic Twitter

notifications will go out. All you're going to have like automatic host, not automatic. Because I'll still you getting a Blue Tick. No, I'm not doing that, I'm not doing that. But I think yeah, there will be regular posts going out. So yeah, on Twitter and Instagram. Hopefully see how he goes. Wait, that's why rubs on this show to promote his own show. That's right. Yeah. See, it's all, it's all about cross-promotion, that's what we

eat. That's well that was when you emailed me. Captain. That was the brief. That's the first thing. You said, was like I'm gonna promote the crap out of Obsessed by music. Yep. Yep. And he said, yeah. Well, that's exactly what your email said. Come on the show because I think it would be a great opportunity for you to promote OBM. So anyone that hasn't heard it. So I'm here to tens of people slightly Straits. Was that the last episode that, that I know, that's something

that's him. Yeah, that's something that came out about the Dire, Straits one came out. I don't know, five or six weeks ago now, depending on when this goes out. Okay, yeah, but two captains earlier Point. Captain, what do you? What's your, what's the name on this show? Is super, super, super chuckle Mania. Know, what's your name? Oh yeah, I'm just main thing. I'm just me. Yeah, let's cancel. Its Captain. We changed. Our this is for Jason, over the show by the our stupid names are

still available. Users of the same. Okay. So yes, as Captain said earlier. The Tweet thing isn't working out so well. So when that when the, when the Dire Straits episode was released weeks back, that was, I has been a lot going on, but I didn't realize that that wasn't really happening. Probably should have. And and so now I know it's, it's a thing. So, anyway, so it was quite a long story. Frank, it was buffering now,

wasn't it wasn't buffering? It was that it was actually Switched Off. The little tick was switched off. So it didn't automatically, you know, announce anything to Twitter but I've sorted all that out. Now in the latest episode is, Something about something entirely different but yeah I blame Ilan I'm sure he went in and turned it off himself, that's kinds of claims. He's got nothing else better to do than just fiddle around with things. Uh, Twitter. Yeah, what's this do?

Let's just click this oh, oh no, everything just died. Anyway. Anyway, is this? Just as this started, by the way, like, is this, okay? Okay, now it's your show. I'm uh, I'm just guessing What we do is Introduction, which is just us just rambling what we're doing right now. Then we talked about like, well, I heard the toe jam one and a couple of others. Oh, there you go. So you're not a regular listener that he'd been to the mall this afternoon.

I listened to a few. Your is your stats might have see, just the stats increase. Oh yeah. That would have jumped. I did today. T. There you go. Yeah, so toejam, how are you? I'm good. Good been running around. Yes, very busy work. I'm going to say happy but yes, I think your birthday. Did you party? Like it was 1999. I partied like it was 1963 and Johnny Cash tribute show. Is that what you did? You're working? Yeah, working cheese. Yeah.

That was a good show though. I was telling Captain yesterday. It's like, it's a sea of grey hair the audience. Yeah, it's like yeah, no. It's good though. That was actually good last night. I was in a switch which is like probably Johnny Cash territory. There is that there is Johnny Cash territory in Australia. Yeah, so they loved it. It's good. Okay. That's good. Yeah. And Jab. A good birthday. Yeah, we just had like a big family breakfast thing. Did you have coffee?

Brunch, very physical way coffee. So then, I think we'll just go straight to what's good this week. Well, I think, the first thing I can say is there's, there's a few extra people on the show today for. It is magical super chuckle Mania Santana, re Extravaganza episode 100 or 400 G members that's it. Yeah, all here. That's what's good Silence from everyone else. I mean, I do. Yeah, I'm learning how this

whole thing works. You can edit all my waking, so way, it's an episode 100, we're still learning. So bring listeners up to speed since the end of each and black to, now, how you been what's been up to? Oh, wow. That's a big question. I'll keep it short and so I guess life work life work. Rinse, and repeat, right? Like, it's just, yeah. We're groundhogs been. Yeah, exactly. Grab it like that. A bit like Groundhog Day.

Everything's Well, I'm well, you know, all the important people are well from my end so that's good but you know, like I don't need to say this on to you guys done this show or anywhere else and it's been an absolutely crazy few years, right? Like all years later, the whole Humanity, as a group, as a collective is gone through some crazy times.

But yeah in the middle of that I can't complain in comparison to some of the craziness and hecticness that's going on especially around the world, right? Yeah. I'm always I couldn't I couldn't possibly Anything's terrible in mind. Like things are going, things are going pretty well with the show. It's back online. And I mean, it was never offline, but there was a short period of time there where things slow down a little bit. But for 2023, I'm back baby. He announces Shameless plug and

promotion. But yeah. So obsessed by music, My Side Show is back on Deck. Hey, and technically, that's not the sideshow anymore, that's the show. That's the main causes, right? That's right. Yes. Yes that maybe start at all. Look at a sideshow.

Yeah that yeah. I was going to say side project but it's becoming the obsessed part is really starting to ring true because I think I've put out what five episodes in the last five weeks and the idea is fingers crossed, if I can keep that going, which is, which is tough, you guys know how I mean. I'm how you guys keep its irregular, but it's not an easy thing to do as little musil. It's Metamucil for us. That's how we keep a regular. Yeah. So yeah. So we'll but the plans there.

Actually, the latest episode that is literally just come out for anyone, that will be listening to this. By the time this show goes out, is that an interview with person by the name of Michael framer? I don't know if any of you guys Captain play, if you guys have heard of him but Michael from is one of the most well-known and respected people in the world of audio Hi-Fi and in particular vinyl records like he's the analog Guy online if you Google his name he's the guy and he's

been around for decades now. And is kind of like the Evangelist for the for the vinyl format. So that, that was a great interview that I had with him recently and that's going out. Well, it has just come out, I should say. So, yeah, okay, go here's my question. Here's my question. You didn't, you didn't squeeze his whole interview down to fit in your little 7 or 8-minute format didn't know. That's not that's not an interview. That's like how you going? Well yeah, it's great to see

you. Yeah, yeah. Thanks for coming. That would have been more like a passing remark. No, no. No this Is it goes for about an hour? Oh, there you go. So is this, is the, is this the longest episode so far? This is the longest Episode by fire. Yeah. Well, because he's stuff that I do is monologues for the most part. Although no. Wait a second. There's been a couple of other

people's. Yeah. Yeah and I think, I think the last I spoke to Michael O'Neill from solar preneur hour and a beginner audio file. That's his other podcasts and that way over over an hour. So yeah it'll be a few more of those hopefully coming up. So here's the thing right I've started to do in the last I don't No, it may be six months, this is what I do and it's from its from something, you said a hundred years ago, you listen to the album, right? And you turn off the lights at

nighttime in the dark. The candles with the headphones, I don't go as far as the candles I'm in the dark and I listen to albums. That's what I do now and that's because of you, with you said it. Wow, I'm stunned. And I'm I don't know how to I've probably I'm probably and I think I've had 100 albums yet in the last six months, but I couldn't be far. Of I don't listen to every night but at least probably twice a week, two or three. Why?

I mean, aside from the, appreciate the finger-pointing my way but like what trigger did something trigger it? Do like did you or did you just one day? Decide it. Was that and years ago, I didn't go to school with this guy but he knew other people. I went to school with and he ended up. We ended up in a sharing a flat for a few years. And he I remember at one point he was going out and he wanted

to buy, he was getting CDs. You No, not vinyl sorry but he wanted to get the original albums, like he was getting like Creedence Clearwater albums and like original albums, because he didn't just want to hear the singles. He didn't want to have a greatest hits. He wanted to hear the full album as it was released. So it was you saying that and him doing that many, many years ago? And then one day I'm just like, I remember when I used to listen to albums.

It was a long, long time ago, and apart from Prince for like the last, what 15, 20 years, or whatever has been, I've had to listen to any other. Albums. And then I've hardly listened to Prince for a few years now. And then I'm like, oh yeah, I can listen to albums now, I've got nothing else to do. Why not? So that's what I do. Wow, that's remarks. And so, how does that what's the whole like? How does it feel? What are its? Can you say about that experience?

Other than I'm still stunned that you do that now, it's literally like you're 16 again. That's what it's like, oh Susan Rogers on him. Yeah, that's what it's like. It's just like you're a kid again. Listening to an album in the dark, with your headphones on. It's amazing. Yeah, that's great. And you and we, these are headphones on. You just hear everything. And it's, it's just so good. So, there we go. That's what I do. And that's like, well, how many minutes do we have left?

Three minutes left. I was, this has been great. Thank you, thank you. He's done his brother. There we saw. The last time you did that. I did a pretty regularly. Yeah, I still I see your Instagram and it's always like a glass of some alcohol, I'm guessing and and yellow. And it's like, oh, there we go. And I think. Yeah. Well, I'm not far back and I saw it today. Oh, CDs are still great. Don't let people tell lies. Don't let him turn it on for you. That's right. That's right.

Yeah, yeah. Well some someone sent me an article I don't know if it was today or a few days ago that said, apparently vinyl has outsold CDs for the first. Since 87. Yeah. Talked about it. Yeah. Oh yeah, you guys I mean whether that's true or not, they're clearly selling a lot more records.

Vinyl records than they used to regardless of the numbers, but I think probably half of that is Taylor Swift and exactly, that's why I think so. Are they even getting listen to, or are they just a $60 fancy thing? They can put up on the Shelf? Did I ever even listen to it. That's what I mean. You know, it's a Harry Styles, it's Harry's house, you know? Even getting listen to, that's my question, or is it just a cool thing that the kids by now

to support their artists? But it doesn't actually get played because they stream everything anyway. That's what I think. Hmm, most likely, yeah. I mean, surely some of some of these listeners maybe some of the younger listeners are buying records and they're playing them like, it can't be. I don't believe that everyone is just buying it as wall art, or I got it as a coaster.

Like, there's no way they're doing it, but I think I know not everybody but I'm sure there's a decent amount that are just like, let's just buy the vinyl just because support the artist. It's a man is like a merchant. Maybe it's like a merch thing, you know, like you buy the T-shirt, you see, it's just like getting fancy poster for the wall.

Yeah, I mean, I know there's probably a large chunk, as well, they do by the record and hear it like the vinyl LP and hear it. But they're usually listening on crosley's or you know really really like something you'd find in Aldie you know, when aldehyde is really cheaper ones. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And that's like, it's not that's more like Fashion statement actually isn't a fashion statement because it's not particularly fashionable and they probably there like this sounds like crap.

Why do people like vital so much? I spend $60 on this record player and it's awful. Yeah. Now, that's very true, you've got to spend at least a few hundred dollars to get your foot in the water foot in the door here, for sure. So, what, what else is good? So James birthday yesterday? Yeah, maybe still partying. You had something about iced coffee. Oh, you want, And to say something, I think it's time MCS here. I think it's time for embassy who's that, who's that guy?

The man of Cutlery mystery of life. Even make sense. MC Cutlery. So it's time for the ice coffee update, and see, have you ever been to South Australia? Have you been to Adelaide? No, no. Okay. Player knows because he was here. There is a down at the south of Adelaide like 80 90 kilometers.

There is the fleurieu peninsula. And they have like a milk company and they make milks, they make yogurts, they make iced coffees, and all they got other flavors stuff fancy stuff and it's like a local thing and everyone loves and as opposed to like you know all that they're iced coffee and ice break and was the other stupid ones boss. Horrible those oak or what? Were those awful things that coke made in the read something Brothers. They're horrible.

Yeah yeah. Brister brothers or something. Anyway here, I've got these iced coffees and there's literally nothing in them and it even says on the side only three ingredients and it's literally milk sugar and coffee. There's no preservatives. There's no, there's nothing in it. Wow, the downside to that is the ones that because they've got, like, the normal one. There's like a double shot one, there's a lactose free one.

The problem with those is because they've got no sugar or very, little sugar and I'm not sweet at all, which I don't know if it's good, so it's better. Its it is, especially the double shot one. It's got a Sane amount of caffeine. It's got like, triple, the amount of caffeine of any MC. Iced coffee rubber. You a, you a coffee drinker. Yes. Iced coffee, or just the rubbish know. Just just what the real thing, I just yeah. Like, yeah, exactly. So not this, you don't drink

this anyway. No, this is, this is just it's well, it's not lost on me. I mean, I, I'm keeping up with the concept of iced coffee in it milk and sugar and and caffeine in a car. Anton. Yeah I think I did have. I think the last time I had some of that was well probably, when I was a teenager and Oak is the one that rings a bell. The most for sure. There's Oak. There's Big M. What they used to be move. Is that the one that ended a change? Too. Big, a piece. Remember movie getting a big?

Are my remember, Big M? Yeah. They had the chocolate and strawberry flavor, and all that. Yeah. Yeah. So this years ago, be game. Oh yeah, Farmers Union, I'll fight ya in South Australia, Farmers Union, iced coffee is like the king king king ding-a-ling of coffee. Didn't you say that it like Get out sales Coca-Cola or something in South Australia. That is mandalas. Yeah, yeah. That is just crazy. That's like in Scotland, where iron Brew outsells Coca-Cola.

It's crazy else old Coca-Cola for the first time in 35 years. Like me. That's just like vinyl answers, like the bottling City. But do you do you drink real coffee though? Does anyone on this show? Drink coffee. I do. But I used to drink a look. I'm weird because I don't think I started drinking coffee till I was maybe at least early. 30s. I like very late. I just never liked it. It was every time a couple times. I taste it. I'm like God. That's horrible. That's better.

Whatever didn't like it at all and then one day I'm like I'd see all these people at this cafes and sitting around talking to their friends. And I'm like, why can't I be one of these people sitting around drinking coffee? I'm missing out on this tan. The scene I'm missing out on these things. And so like, well I'm not going

to go straight to coffee. So I started with like Maka because that was like half chocolate half coffee and I'm like, oh, I can deal with that and then, and then you Decided you wanted to write your screenplay and Starbucks. So then you took a coffee and then eventually, right? I took the dive into real coffee, but I was as heavy on the sugar to start with. I reckon I was two or three at the start. I can't remember now.

And yeah, it's been well, two or three, two or three teaspoons are not tablespoons teaspoon and I'm added added sugar that you push. I got the sachets or whatever. Yeah. Now Now, real coffee, I'm down to half of one sugar which is pretty good, very good. I've tries occasionally will have no sugar but it's just not, right? I just need to. I just need that little bit of sweet, just a little bit. Sometimes I can get away with a load of the chocolate powder as

substitute for sugar. But not only are you loaded at the moment. I mean, have you had caffeine? I've had several because I knew I had to stay awake tonight. So you've loaded. I might To do for a few breaks every now and then, I think how we go but also is the other is in the pigeons. Bike days used to do like cans of monster and stuff. Right? And read. Yes, I'll guard. You not like I don't even remember the last time I had one of them because you had to make it to midnight.

We recorded called. Yes midnight. It's like yeah. Where's Dale? Try and start at like 9:00 or 9:30 and it's 12:30. We might be finished. Oh man. Yeah I would, I would drink that stuff. Oh my god. Wow, buddy. Anyway, I was You're too much coffee IG. I'm talking fast, I sound like I've had caffeine it is because

I have had caffeine look. I was drinking too much coffee, so I started to try the decaf and it's a, you know, it's still coffee but they've taken out the caffeine and I would say I'm about 50 50 about half the coffee's I have in a day are decaf half the cost. When you say half the coffee's you have in a day, I decaf, I can't help but wonder how many many copies could you possibly have in one day? It's generally three or four in the morning, and then the 34th

have Sunday afternoon. No, no, I cannot have caffeine after about maybe 30 before it starts to affect my sleep three around 3:00 because I usually, I sleep early, I sleep at like 9:00 837, sometimes 8:00. Look when you're camping and it's winter. It's literally dark at 6:00. You have dinner. You got a bed. That's it. It's nothing else to do. Yeah, there is something to do. You lay there in the dark with your headphones and listen to Al?

Oh yeah. Yeah. I'll do it anyway so you need caffeine to get through it. You don't want to feel the music is enough to keep you awake. Isn't that right? You don't need the music. Music, is your drug? Now, you don't need a stimulant, I don't even know what I'm talking about. Caffeine fried my brain. Oh yeah. The first coffee I'll have in the morning. That's a decaf. It's cause I don't want us wanted decaf. Yes, because I don't want to go straight to caffeine so I went actually has it.

I won't actually have caffeine and that's usually at like 6:30 in the morning 7:00. I won't have actual Kathleen probably till maybe 8:00 8:30. And see I'm the opposite. I'm like rub like we went to the server once we had to have that dollar cheap stuff like that. Really comes, my veins of a morning, like the really cheap stuff that kicks me. They can't be too smooth. If it's too smooth, it's nice. It has to be like, dirty dirty water. Just got to be careful. Just going to be any more.

It's just a transport system went for caffeine. That's all it is true. Have either of you been to like these, you know, people say, oh, you've got to go to these. He places the best coffee, blah, blah. I go to. I go to those places. And the coffee is horrible because it's fancy coffee. It's like, oh, it's got fruity notes of apricots and it's absolute rubbish. It's like, that's not coffee.

What are you doing? Is this the end where the animal eats it and oh, no, that's the that's that Indonesian. Yeah, yeah, cat thing. No, no, yeah, these are just like any fancy coffee place, where people say odds are greatest coffee. Almost every one of those places that I can think of, I haven't like the coffee. I just Rubbish coffee. Like I just want the cheap crap. I'm not often with fruity notes of Oak and you know it's just ridiculous. I don't need that.

I don't need those things. Have you had those? I have to admit, I'm actually somewhere in between, I would not call myself a coffee snob by any stretch of the imagination, but I would say, yeah, like those places that you're talking about Captain like this one, I've only been to maybe a couple but there's one that I can think of that.

I can't remember the name of it. In marrickville and I'll probably be like you you walk in Express not quite but it is, it is like it's actually probably the opposite of VP Express. It's like VP Express is like, you know, you think petrol station so you know, you're what you're getting but this is like you walk in and it looks like an art gallery or something. Is that emerges? Is that a really small place? Yes, and it's got a table in the middle. The almost looks like a sushi restaurant.

Kind of like, people sitting on, on both sides, but if there's no suit, Trained of coffee. Although, that was because that isn't always a million-dollar idea right there. There, you can imagine that you've got to drink it before. It goes cold, is that how it would work you take a sip of

pass it on? Yeah, but yes, no, that was not a great experience and it was really expensive and they're expecting it was in there, not good, it wasn't great but I'm not at the Other Extreme. Like if I'm out and about for sure, I'll grab a cheap coffee somewhere but At home. It's been usually ground beans here. All you've got the actual machine. Yeah she I mean not not anything fancy. It's you can get them pretty cheap especially yeah, capsules, no. No capsules.

Just like a, what equal? Like an expresso no espresso machine, not the the Pod things. No. Not that, you know, what I've noticed with those pot machines. They all taste like pods. I've tried like so many different machines and different numbers like this one's 14. This one's intensity night. I've tried so many different ones, they all taste the same to me. They all taste like pods. It's like, it's like, it's like

chicken tonight. It's like any Source you get out of a glass jar, they all taste like glass jar. It doesn't matter what source they are. They taste like a glass jar and, you know, it's just cheap crap, chicken tonight and big em like this, this feels like like a podcast recorded in like the mid 90s or something. Chicken tenders, I still remember when they Jen and Dale, Late show, did it. I think of that ad and it was dickhead tonight, I feel like dick had to have is great.

What was I even talking about? So I drink I drank too much coffee. I've switched a fair chunk of it to decaf, and it's fine. Oh, and milk. I'm not really drinking milk anymore. Did I say that? I think I've said that before. I'm have it oatmeal and coffee though. It depends. If it costs, more forget, it will cost more. Because if I go to a coffee shop, right? And they like our coffees five dollars. Are you want oat milk i-it's fine? D. No thanks. I'll just have a normal milk or

my kids. I might get even skim milk actually. But yeah, not drinking a lot of milk either anyway. Isn't that? Interesting because cows are four cops. Oh yeah. What was that? Was that a rave? No emancipation. I was totally surprised close. You can't be that far out. No, no, I just remembered because the Rave had the picture of the Lamb on it. That's not a cough, is it? Well, it's not a, it's not a It is a shame. It's a baby. She okay. But it's not a cough. So I was right.

Rob. What was the last Prince album you listen to oh God kind of remember mystified silence. Wow, that just is. That's all right there. Yeah. That's a. I can't. Hmm. Okay. Have you listened to any of the estate stuff that's come out? Like I'm a bit like based on what you just said about Captain. I like I think I'm pretty much in a similar boat, I would guess. Like I'm pretty I've been pretty

out of the loop. When you say a state stuff like what has there been something superb recent that I've missed or know there's been nothing? No, no, there's been nothing like that. I just mean like since since patient black their ideas, there's been welcome to America. There's been the right Revolution live. There's been some of the times Super Deluxe ya reckon? I reckon that was the last thing I listened to was like those all those outtakes from the side of the time.

See. And that was 10 years ago, years ago. Well, no, it would have to be welcome to America because I think that's the last Last thing that came out, you know, not counting that 85 show because it's so yeah. Yeah, been around forever. Yeah, it would have been welcome to America but I haven't Revisited that since not. It came out. I think nobody listened. No, no, no. In the first few weeks, I did like you always kind of do but beyond that, not really, no, because you missed out the first

time in the limousine. So you have to listen to? Yeah yeah, yeah. That's that's That's a whole wheat. That's a weird thing but I think it's a good. I don't know. I think that welcome to America's even though I haven't really gone back to it because I haven't, I've just been listening to just different things, but I think from what I remember of it is a pretty decent album. It was you haven't listened to some of the times Super Deluxe.

I did definitely can tell that for Welcome To America that was before. Yeah. That was before like the most recent thing would have been welcome to America. I listened to sign of the times du Lacs the outtakes. I'm Not sure that. I'm not sure that I've got through the outtakes. I didn't know it was a, it was a lot on there. Yeah. The last few years have just been weird. I mean, that came out in the

middle of covid, right? So one's not connected to the other necessarily, but yeah, I guess I remember kind of hearing bits and pieces of it, but I can't trying to remember now that was at least three years ago, wasn't it twenty twenty two and a half years ago. 20, 20, 20, 20 years, late 2020s. I'm at what? That's about two and a half years ago. Yeah. I thought that release was I don't know if you guys want to get into this but Like for what it was.

I thought it was great but it was a massive release but then the downside of that was the cost of thing was prohibitive, let's say prohibited. It was just and even welcome to America. Like with the didn't you have to buy like a certain version to get the um, the DVD or something. And it was just so expensive and it's like this is the thing that just kept annoying me about like these. Yeah, the great releases. Wow. Look at all the signs of the

times outtakes look. At this whole unreleased album. All there's a whole live DVD but you've got to pay like $80 to watch it, and it's like inaudible stairs. Niko Bolas remixes, we got to have it. Oh God. Yeah, I kind of remember the lot, the last thing, I'll probably listened to was welcome to America as well, and I haven't gone back to it at all because I was, it was fine, but I wasn't. I didn't get any repeat value out of it.

I probably listen to it. Yeah, like MCI probably listened to it. I don't know, three, four times when it came out and then I'm just like, yep, that's that. Next and I was done with it and I haven't gone back and I couldn't tell you a song on there. Welcome to America. That's all. That's all I can remember something easy to remember and I had all those songs that had the clipping in it.

Though there was like as glitches on one track, which is yeah because it was like Source from a CD or something. Yeah. And it was skipping and it's like you could have fixed that if you really wanted to that's actually that's a good thing about get having the welcome to America vinyl is when you listen to it you don't notice the glitches as much because Surface noise, covers it up. Yeah. Is that surface noise or glitching? So, that's the benefit of

getting the vinyl version. Did you get it on vinyl? Yeah, well, I got that set the whole thing together a but I waited until it was on, you know, I smart. I can't remember the website, but it was one of those discount ones and they had it like at 80% off or something. I was like, this is too good. Yeah. Do it something crazy. All those people that pre-order and then we just wait the six months and waited for it to the 80% off and grab it. Yeah, it is.

What's the next thing that you want to see released? Yeah, if you could go into the Vault rub, what would you like to pick the Diamonds and Pearls remaster? That's what everyone's waiting for. The estate are just so on the ball with what the fans want come on, will you pick something from the Vault? Or would you pick like merchandise like a hanky or some ugly scarf, or $400? Yeah, it's got its got Purple Rain or Come on. I don't know.

I mean, for the sake of entertainment, maybe a nice car. Our for something or like a bed sheet maybe they could do a nice. Veggie you get those emails?

Not anymore subscribe. Oh yeah I don't know I just found it a little bit, it's tacky it's tacky is healthy end of the day I got a bit tired of an announcement that was usually when an artist or an or an estate in this case of an artist announce something you can't help but think maybe it might be something interesting or she is right but It just continues to be the same sort of thing which oh, yeah happens to be merge. I don't know. I was like, do I really need

this? And don't get me wrong. It wasn't. Just a prince thing. Like I unsubscribe to like, countless things that I've subscribed to just because there was like, I didn't want his, I don't want to see that anymore. So I figured if anything major happens. I'll find out one way or another. Yeah, are. So that's that one subscription we lost on super Chuck. Amelia that explains it. Oh yeah, was all. It was all our merch that kept annoying. Romania. But you don't do bedsheets.

Surely not all we are, we can okay, it's always an option. Never say never come sleep with us. That's the email header. No ii-i'm the same. I just got so sick of just rubbish merch announcement after another. Like just disappointment after disappointment. It's like I don't want to see any of this rubbish. I don't care. It's pointless. Anyway. Where are we? Yeah, I don't know if I answered you. I don't think I even answer. No, you know, you didn't really. Yeah, answering the question

without without. Answering the question. Look, I mean, being super blunt, not really nothing like, I'm not hungry for anything, but I don't know that that says anything about, you know, the estate or anything. It's probably just a reflection of me, it just different things. Without going back into this whole crazy pandemic time and all that. I for one came out of it with maybe a slightly different priority list.

Then what I do when I went in So I kind of like try not to worry too much about what I can't control. So I kind of troll what they're going to do and they're going to do what they're going to do for the most part anyway so I don't mind. Like if something great comes out, something really interesting. Some really great deluxe edition. Oh yeah if something really good comes out. I'll be sending messages to everyone. All of you. Right?

Right. Yeah. Everyone's going to know like where if something actually good is happening. Yeah, I look I think in summary for me. Suddenly all the Super Deluxe editions or the to that they've done three but really, the two proper ones that they did were great on the whole. Yeah, you can nitpick, you can complain but I think overall really something interesting. And then, if they put out some really great archive or live performances, that would be

amazing and beyond that. It's like all right whatever, whatever whatever you do is fine with me. I remember at some point. You said, on whatever show it was, if the estate Has closed up today and never released another thing, I'm fine with that. We've got loads of good. Stay, I'm fine with that. I didn't want to go that far but today. But yeah, that's it. But that's where I am as well because I'm just so over there. Just inactivity is that? I don't know.

They just doing stupid things. Okay, let me ask you this, then if the Vault was open straight away in the releases were coming out at a constant stream. Do you think you would keep up with it or is it the lack of releases that's made you lose interest? Well, then, It's the lack of releases that made me lose interest in the question. If they were still present, what they've bought out made you lose

lose interest. No, I'm with him say I think there's a lot of the times the Lux, the Purple Rain Deluxe or Originals 99 Deluxe the amazing Versace experience, straight from Cosette, come on, they've done some great things but what I keep up with by getting stuff, I don't know. I really don't know at this point because it's just been so disappointing. It's going to take something. Raising to get some people drink, I think you're back in.

Yeah, right. Yeah. I mean, I also think it depends on what else is going on with everyone. Like, what's going on in your, in your own backyard, kind of thing, like what's going on in life, what's going on with work, family, the world. I think that has a big impact to, and that's not just a printer State thing that's like any artist releasing stuff, or it could be films or Netflix, specials, or whatever. It's like, I miss a lot of stuff.

It's just so much of everything now and it's so easy to miss that. I don't. Getting princess state is not is not an exception, it's the rule. It's like, I missed people tell me about shows that, like, watch this, watch that, and it's impossible to keep up with stuff. So I think that part is probably one factor, and then another thing is that they don't mean how much can you release as well?

Like, if you're the princess State, how much can you constantly pump out and keep people really excited by? I don't know. But yeah. And the last thing. What if they did MPG MC Music Club subscription thing? Would you sign up for that? And you could have like, unlimited access. That's something interests, you know. I don't know. Okay. Don't you can't keep up. Yeah. Yeah. I think it would be too much. It would be. Yeah. It'll be, it'll be overwhelming. They, there needs to be a, some

sort of lock on that door. You can't. Just stay here is thousands of live performances. It just hurt people's heads. They couldn't deal with it. Yeah, I like the idea of something being curated like, when you look at the miles, A state Hendricks, when you've anybody even artists that are still around like Pearl Jam's, a great example, Springsteen Springs. Yeah, they really saw that they deal in like they're still artist Marquis artists that put out a lot of stuff that's really

well. Curated and the yeah, there's some value there but I mean, I don't know. I just again, Shameless plug. Yeah, I guess. But on a recent OBM episode, I did a little monologue about like how much music do we really need? In fact, it's the title of the show and it's a really short thing, but I just was too. A around with this idea, which is kind of what you guys are talking about.

Or at least it has some relationship to it, with what you guys are saying is like, it's just so much content, and it's impossible to keep up with stuff even if you follow someone's work. So, I don't know, I I'm not really in the world anymore. I like I'm not in the loop, it's not something. I don't know, I'm not in that world, I'm not in that Prince world on a like it. I was and so none of us are none of us. But I'm old but I'm also not in my 20s anymore.

You know? Or I'm not in my yeah you know whatever it is. It's I think that has a big heart to play when stuff comes up and and life happens or whatever that is a big impact but also I don't know like it's just I'm not I don't have the energy to chase. Yeah stuff down. That's all well articulated. That's also a thing. It's like I said there's so much music there's so many TV shows. There's a million streaming Services. And there's just so much stuff.

Like you said, it literally is impossible to even keep up with like a quarter of it. There's just so much. And again, where would you, where do you even start? Like people say, oh, you should watch this show, you watch that show, and the other thing is, there's not enough time. Anyway, I mean, how much time do you literally have to sit down and watch TV every day? An hour?

Two hours if you're lucky, like, there's not that much time, and there's just so much stuff, like, you could literally watch stuff, 18 hours a day, and you wouldn't see 10% of what you To watch or listen to because there's just so many just content that's excluding like rubbish from fandoms and everything. All just too much stuff going on. Yeah, yeah. That's something I don't miss. Yeah yeah.

Or how about finding the time in your day to just go for a walk somewhere or do the food shopping or whatever? You're doing like all the domestic, you know that boring domestic stuff that you need to get that. I mean it's just it's endless but yeah let me put it this way to wrap up my answer on that on that question. You asked player for me, I don't really mind. I'm happy with whatever. Ever. And if it's something that I don't care for like merch.

Well then I'm not like I haven't bought a single piece of merch, right? I'm not interested in that but if they put something out like some of the other Estates of other artists have in, it looks interesting and sure Dive Right In and check it out. I don't know. Maybe I'm sounding like the old man on the lawn. Get off my lawn, the old man on the lawn where he needs. Purple Rain. Socks old man, shakes fist at

cloud and purple. Yes, yeah, but the other thing with the merch is, I mean, it's not even good. He stuff it's like really cheap like made in China staff and they're saying like all these things like $250 what wasn't a global was? My gloves for like four hundred dollars or something? Like they give something like that gloves and it's just like, oh man, the cheapest possible quality and the highest possible price. Oh my God, it's a business there.

This is why. I'm just so glad I'm not in that world because just the stuff that I see from the outside is just like, oh, Jesus, get it away from me. I don't want to know about it. It's horrible. Mmm. Anyway, MC, have you seen this Diamonds and Pearls symbol thing as a catalyst? Your radar Captain. You told me, right? Yeah, I just said some copies have to my turn up on eBay or somewhere though turned up somewhere for sale.

Yeah and no one has still the estate is still hasn't confirmed whether they're actually legit or not so they could just be really good fakes no one knows I've said anything really? They are real. It's still no one said. Yeah. Rub it. It's been registered at a scab like in the last. Okay, two, three months there. Updated the copyrights on everything on those albums. They say it's, yeah. Well, that's a, that's a nice circumstantial evidence but it's

still not proof. Number the years is right. Is they had this set ready to go like two years ago? Yeah everybody. And they didn't do anything and now they're like, I ever going to push this out. It's like Well, why'd you wait that long? Because I would ready to go to years ago. Like why they saw the siding, didn't they say? It was covid at the time, they're like oh it's really hard to get records. Is pressed or some stupid thing. There was the vinyl every artists at the problem.

Yeah. Maybe Rob knows this better than me but they had like some vital a and shrinking. Yeah, what's this have to do with the factories? Are current member why? Yeah yeah. Yeah. I actually I'd actually don't know the details but there was something that went down there are a lot of delays from the major labels, you know, couldn't press stuff and they couldn't shift my changes. Yeah, there's a phrase that you've got to love for the last few years. That's why there's no tomatoes.

It's insane. Did you is this? The what's good part has that happened yet? I don't know. I'm struggling to keep up. We barely know, just rambled on. Well, what's bad? What's bad? So that was what. That was, what's good? I'll it's not a strict home at let's say it's like we'll start that and then we'll just go off on 25, two engines and then we'll be like, what are we doing now? Where are we? Well, I was just going to say Say, you can add this in or not.

But for what's good this week depending on what what number of episodes you're up to? I don't know if this is going to be 100 is 100. Well technically there's been like probably at least ten other like random specials we did, but technically it's a hundred, okay? Officially, it's good this week. Clearly obviously for you guys, what's good this week is that you've done 100 episodes so has more but this is 100. So there you go, congratulations. Yeah.

Thanks bro. Wow, it's it's the centuries. The Chicken Mania Century Centenary. We started from the bottom. Now we're here yesterday, you go just slightly above the bottom, right. We're up like a half a step. It's great. Thank you. Thank you for that. So now we jump to, what's bad Captain. You said you wanted to talk about flybys all my god. Do we even want to talk about fly? Vice rub D is flybys know another, another thing.

Is he won't know anything sighs. How much value I'm going to add? No, I didn't want to sell my my sister. So I do for ya. Something literally would even though I'm sure that I probably do it. I probably do do that in so many other ways by just clicking. Yes. All the, those terms and conditions. Anyway, yeah, I think flybys is one of those old school things that just, because the years ago, when it came, probably in the 90s, right? Yeah, it'll is like that masturbate.

This doesn't seem right. Yeah. Well yeah I they had my data thousand years ago but look here's the thing. This is how it works. You get a stupid little card or now you can get it on your phone as well, like an app but you scan the card and you get points for every dollar you spend to get a point when you get 2,000 points, that's $10. You can get credit, that's $10, cash. And this side is that, and then also, if you spend over $30, you also get a like a fuel for

sense. It's discount voucher for coals. So that's for like the shell and calls Express, petrol stations, and that's great. I rarely spent over thirty dollars so I don't get them that often but you get the little voucher and then it's valid for 30 days. I'll definitely buy Petrol in the next 30 days. So that's four cents off and when petrels been such stupid prices, I'll take four cents off. Sure. But now what they did after I like you said, how long flybys better out, 150 million years

since the dinosaurs. And now since chicken too, Exactly. At least and now they have taken the. Because what do you do? If you don't have the voucher, you could just scan your flybys card when you buy the petrol and it says, oh, there's a voucher on your card. You can use that, okay? You don't even need the paper anymore. The little voucher from the docket in Cole's, you could just scan the flybys card. You get four cents off. Well, guess what? They just stop that.

Now, you got to get the stupid app, all your daughter. Again, of course, you don't eat, just get the voucher or the the ten dollar credit. Edit. Now they say this is available to you first, you got to get the app and you go to download the app and then you got a login, put all your crap again. Then they say, oh now you've got this deal. We're not going to give it to you. No. No. You have to activate the deal. You have to come in and press a button to activate it.

We can't just give you the deal anymore. Like we've done since the history started. No, not now, it's has to be activated by you and if you forget, well, that's your problem. You're an idiot. You won't get a discount. This is how they're doing. And so I go to and this just happened. I knew I had a voucher on my card, on the floor, by his car. I went to the calls. Express. I got like, $40, petrol. Go to pay. And I, yeah, it'd be like a

dollar off something like that. So I go to the woman, number whatever, it's $40 scan the flybys card so he knows she said do you have any discounts? And I'm like oh I might have one on the card, I'll scan the card she's like okay you've got a flyby Scout I like yeah there might be a fuel discount on there or have you got the app it's like no I haven't got that new app I said, And she's like, it came out at least a year ago. Okay? Okay. Okay, lady. Thanks for that attitude.

Like, no, I don't have it yet and so you've got, and you've got to activate it. Oh, okay. So I can't scan the card anymore. No no. You got to get the app. You haven't got the app yet. Oh my god. Oh, in my brain. I'm just like I want to punch this woman. She's just being such a cow. Absolutely, no reason. Like I wouldn't be surprised if her name was Julie or Karen because just the attitude.

Oh my God, the attitude. And it's like, okay I won't get a discount that's fine, but just the look on her face like she was so happy that this idiot didn't get his like 84 cents discount, she could tell she was delighted. Oh my God. So like it came out of her own pocket. Exactly, exactly. Right. Like a certain other people we've talked about in the past, you know, makes 20 difference to their life if you get a discount but they are so happy if you don't get it right. Unbelievable.

So are you downloading the app? Are you going to like the video? It's probably worth. It but just a she just annoyed the crap out of me today. Oh my God. And I'll just say for all the if anyone's triggered know, I wasn't really gonna punch her in the face. It's called a comedy, right? Get it, get a grip. I'm not, I am not condoning violence to humans. Geez. Anyway, uh, I was not happy. Yeah, flybys, you can suck it for now. I'll probably get the app for that.

I'm not gonna like it, but I'm not gonna like it. I will not like it, it's just rubber sawanoi. Rub a part from appearing on this show. What else is bad this week? No, this is good. This is good. This week. What's bad this week? Look, I knew you were going to ask this question because it's one of your segments and I was struggling and I literally just wrote down a quick note in my notes, I just wrote everything's. All right. Nothing bad comes to mind.

How boring of an answer can you get? So yeah. Everything is alright. Nothing bad comes to mind except Oscar Lex. Except here we go, literally within the five minutes before I join this call there. Was all manner of Mayhem. Going around in my living room to the point where I started laughing, so hard, just sheerly from like this can't be

happening right now. And I sent Captain a quick message and I all I said he would have had, no doubt, no idea because I only all I sent you was like something like, can you give me a few minutes? Just some technical difficulties. Yeah. And I just, I laugh my head off at that because that was always what I couldn't write, but the first thing that happened was like, I keep my computer on for the most part and then it goes to sleep like this, you know, the automatic setting you do,

right? So when I see a black screen, that's fine because my screensaver is just nothing but a black screen. So if I walk past it, Like all my screen savers on. So I left my computer all day. I wasn't around or doing other things. And so like 10 minutes before after come on I'm like all right but I just shake it, shake the mouse and a shake the mouse for nothing happens the the screen still black I'm like wait something plug something in wrong, Shake It Again.

Nut, doesn't happen. Like what's going on. I'm clicking on the mouse and clicking on the keyboard. And Mike, are you have to be joking? Nothing is going to plan. And so I restart the computer and luckily, it comes together. Weather. And now it's like definitely three or four minutes to go

before the call. So I quickly check everything and it's starting up a bit slow, I've got to make sure the mics now working and all this sort of stuff, whatever, computer stuff is fine, two minutes to go. And I look up and I can see, like, right near where I'm sitting. There's a little, like, window that I've got that was like, half open and some random bug from the bush just flies. In that looks like a half wasp half like beetle.

Like and we think I've never seen before and I like go to swat it away and then quickly close the window but it goes in instead of out and I've closed the window and now I've got this thing flying around my room and I've only got one light on in the whole room because the rest of the house is dark, right? It's nice and so it starts circling the light above me. I'm going to time and it's like two minutes before we record.

And this thing is buzzing and circling above me and I'm like, I've got to get this out of this room. So I spent the next five minutes running around with Like towels and open up the window and trying to like SWAT. This do literally before I get on the call. So that's that right. Then I do that and I kid you not, I get the thing out of the room, I close the window. And I look down because I've got a balcony on the side of the place where we're at. I look down and I see this

thing. Scuttling around backwards and forwards near the bottom of the balcony I'm like what is this? So again I think I might have said to Captain just give me a few minutes. I get a little torch and Something's running around. I'm like, what is that? Now, I haven't been able to confirm or deny so I'll have to have a look later tonight or tomorrow. It's either a rat or a mouse on the balcony.

Now, I think it's probably a mouse just because of the size by and it was super quick and kind of smallish. So I don't think it's a wrap but it looked like a rat or a mouse thing. And I'm again I'm looking at the clock going. Oh my God, I got to join this call. It's like, do I do?

I do I try and, like, get the mouse or do I join the corps and I'm like, all right like Like I'll just let the mouse be and then I dialed in so not bad but definitely an interruption that was unexpected before I joined John's. It's the best story. So there's still an Dimension you dialed into Skype instead of Zoom like the old days brother. So there's still this the on the balcony right now unless it's jumped off. You don't have a look. I don't like guess. So I had a look but I mean it's

dark. I'm not going to say anything but it's probably there. Yeah. Oh wow. It could be a bat. We've had a battle on the show or a certain for a 1000, well it could be running around your feet. You know the funniest thing about that story is that just reminds me of every Peach and like episode where you were like, oh I've got technical difficulties. Give me a few minutes. I just imagine that was happening. Every time. Now that's what's in mind. It probably never and it

probably never was. But this time I couldn't believe it like this and that and that. Yeah, that is good. Wow, there you go. He's obsessed by me. Isaac this no exciting, right? All. Yes, all yes, yes, music is incredibly exciting but luckily we don't get that many interruptions. Oh God. So that's the that's one benefit of a shorter show is less chance for things to go wrong. Exactly. Oh wow. Wow, that is that is something so that is bad this week.

Hopefully only this week and not any other future OBS episodes. Oh yeah. Am I say OBS OBS? Yeah I'm thinking I'm thinking. Work. Now what I could be sorry, obsessed by sound. There you go. There's a, I've got a yeah, there you go. Give me another idea. That's just that's just been, uh, Focus. You know, that's the spin-off. Yeah. So spot sound. I did actually have a few of them, like, I got an OB, a OBS, like, they like sub-segments, but I haven't gone that far gone that far yet.

I've got to expand it. Just give, you know, give up the day job and just do podcasting. Yeah, that's what I did. Hey, I've got a question for MC. Do you know these things? Things. I think they're called like soundscapes. And like people put on like, they get like little stereo microphones and like stick them on there on a hat or something and they just like walk around

like the streets. And I mean, I don't know, you're like half an hour an hour and they just like, put them up on YouTube and like, you know, the sounds of the streets of Sydney and like thousands and thousands of hits if I guess blowing my mind. Yes you're blowing my mind as you just said that because I'm surprised by that. I didn't know that I was about to say well yeah that Sounds to me like a field recording but no I didn't know people were uploading stuff. Oh yeah, well there you go.

That's what I'll do. That's what I guess. I should do that this coming week because they see that old musty. If I have the time that's something I would listen to was well I would listen to it. I thought you said you were gonna do it. Oh yeah. That too. I would do it too cause I'm always going different places.

I'll read just walk around and record, but that would be interesting, you know, just 20 minutes walking through, you know, the Madrid or whatever, and just Chuck it up, and listen to it because it would be so different. The sounds Would be so different to what you're used to hearing in your normal life is that ASMR recordings now, that's like eating chips and that's really close. Yeah, like stuff. Yeah, yeah. I can do. It's not like any chips. I know. You can't drink coffee can

coffee. Yeah. Right. Imagine if that's the next little bit like like so is it just audio only that they upload? Or is it like a vision? There is people who do like walking tours of and just like walk around the city and record that as a video and audio. I have seen just audio as well. Okay. So these people that watch this are actually obsessed by music, like they're obsessed by Sound by sound right, soundscapes by the sounds of it. Yeah, the sounds of it.

Like I The Sounds they're obsessed by the sounds of it. So, what's on rotation for you? Rob? Is this form. It is recommendations. Yeah, I need a recommendation. You have a recommendation. What's your recommendation? Do you have a recommendation to have a recommendation album song? TV anything? I've got nothing on TV or any other media but a bit music. Obviously the thing is it's nothing new. So I'll just going to throw out a few bands if people haven't heard them or haven't heard them

in a while. They've been on rotation at my end. Yes, just the band. Yes. Why is there a prog-rock classic prog-rock band and in the same vein, King Crimson now I'm not like super, I don't geek out and get into all the nerdy bits and Bobs, but some of the more well-known albums of those two

bands. I've been getting into recently, then, on the As side for anyone that hasn't heard or wants to hear more of this artist Dexter Gordon, he's a horn player, just Classic 50's and 60's Bebop great jazz artists, so check him out and Clannad I don't know if you guys have heard of there like a planet Irish and I don't, I might not even be pronouncing that right, but it's CLA double NAD there an Irish one of the most famous and popular Irish groups of all time apparently.

And I only recently discovered them they really really Well didn't The Proclaimers only not? Oh yeah, I don't know. I think The Proclaimers might have it on bigger side. It's got to shut this Cottage. Yeah I think they are okay there. Yeah but maybe they are maybe

yeah. That's right. So I would say that and a couple of people who unfortunately passed I heard you guys talk about Wayne only did Wayne recently so Wayne shorter he's definitely someone to check out Tom Verlaine is another musician who Passed away.

Unfortunately, in the last few weeks, he was the head vocalist and guitarist of a band called television who were really interesting, unique, sounding guitar, bass band from the late 70s, and just crazy guitar solos, anyone who loves guitar solos, should definitely check that out. And there's more to them than that, as well. But yeah, I think they only put out three albums in their lifetime, but they're pretty cool television.

Oh, and lastly, Mary J Blige. So I don't, wow, I don't say it, but There's a big but here, like I had its Mary J. Blige, I will kill you would if she was in front of you, it's huge. I haven't heard her music for a while and it must have been the Grammys. Yes, it must have been a Grammys, right. And I haven't watched the Grammys for years and I streamed what I could online just to see what's up with music these days.

And and you were horrified, well, I'm just Reserve my comments, I do actually don't want to talk about what I thought about that show, like and the music on it, music in inverted commas, you're not into Sam Smith. The the one thing I will say is that there was one moment on that shirt on that entire show that completely blew me away and it gave me hope. Now I know she's not an

up-and-coming artist, right? She's been around for ages but it gave me hope that real Artistry and real singers still. This because when she did her thing, she had performed a new song called gorgeous that I'd never heard before. They took my breath away. I couldn't like it was so clear. The difference between someone who like really, like, I don't know, finding any. Yeah, yeah. Like from s 1 to the, like, from the first second to the last

everything she did was perfect. She was raw and gritty and like, just the souls oozing out out from her and the stage show and everything. It was just, I thought it was classy. Sophisticated really well done. And was in stark contrast to a lot of other stuff that happened that night. So Mary J. Blige gorgeous. I don't know anything about the album yet. I haven't heard the album, but that song was great. What was that song? She did with George Michael was called Always or eyes or

something? Yeah it was the Stevie Wonder cover. Yeah that's a good song. Mmm. Yeah well it was they did Justice. It like Mary J. I kind of tuned out from her in the last few years because like one of the Record She released a couple of years ago. It was going down that trap eat. It was an ATM - was it trap. He was more trap sound. She had like, like the sad thing T-Pain as I wasn't on his vocal. Oh yeah, June ordered.

Yeah, it was all auto-tune staff and it was just like, this is not like, like she's chasing Trends. So I kind of tuned out, but then I saw the same thing on the Grammys and it's like, I maybe she's gone back to her her old way. So I'll have to check it out here. If you, did you see that Grammys performance of hers? Yeah, it was great. She had the big Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's not. Yeah. I thought it was like classic, classic 90s R&B.

But updated it nicely for today. And yeah, here's a question for MC. I'm sure at some point in the past. You have mentioned, Jeff, Buckley, am I possibly correct? Possibly, yeah, I listen to an album of Jeff Buckley which is again, something I would never do there are there aren't many so it could have only been one of 20. Okay. It was a great think, 1975. Blow-by-blow. Whoa, no, no, you've, you've done it.

You've had a Freudian slip. I think you said Jeff Buckley, but you might be, you might be talking about gift back. I'm talking about your back. Oh yeah I know that cover. Yes. Jeff Beck. Wow. I'll say it again. Why does do an album by Jeff Beck after he died? Because I'm like, yeah, who's this guy? Everyone's talking about him and I'd never heard anything. I listen to How okay, Low by blow. I think it was 1975. That's the way it is.

Some this Good guitar on there. I hear, he's a guitar guy. I was listening to the album in the dark with the headphones on and, you know, the weird, the first thought I had, because I know Rhonda played with him a lot. My first thought was on half of those songs. I was thinking I could hear one night, alone band playing this. It was really weird, and I have no idea. Why, and why did just been? Because of the Rhonda link?

But like, literally half that album, like, I could hear that, like, 2002 ban playing these songs and it was just really weird. And it made it better somehow, I don't know. Well that's good, that's all I've got to say. Yeah no that's a great that's a great album I mean it's widely regarded as one of the great jazz-rock Fusion records I guess. And probably his biggest best album again arguable but from that kind of mid 70s from that mid-70s. And yeah, yeah it's a great album.

I'm surprised at you hadn't heard him either at all or more prior to his passing. No. It was also very recent that was only a few weeks ago. Yeah, it was just something. He was just a guy. Whose name was around. But I'd never had any reason to go and listen to him like a million. Other artists that are out there, right? Like, yeah, no one's ever said, go and listen to this go and

listen to this song. This Album his name never came up for whatever reason but it was just weird that that album I'm like yeah I can hear that band playing there's and you said as jazz-rock Fusion that's the sort of tone that that band was going for as well, with Blackwell and Rhonda and everyone. Anyway, that's all I'm going to say. That's my recommendation. Goal is to that album and imagine that band. Playing those songs. That's all right.

What about you very good? Itto me, Elvis Elvis. Bro. I don't listen to it. Well, my recommendation to you is of course, obsessed by music podcast. Got us here. Very nice. Thank you. And Eva Marion is a bass player. He's got a new song out called. Don't give up. It's just like instrumental track but it's really cool. Can you how do you spell that? And okay. And then Mary Evan. Yeah, he be aan marinagre2 joining that down as we speak. Nice. Okay, jeez.

You've been quiet toejam. If you got any, you got a recommendation there. I have a recommendation, security cameras, get security cameras. Oh, yes, I know. I know this. Something happened to you. Yeah, I got robbed at this week. Are you serious? Yeah. Well, yes, I'm serious. Wow, you should have brought that up in what's bad this way. Literally, I left to pick up the Enid from the train station, came back. Open the door. And I'm like, my shirts on the

whole in the hallway. I'm like, aw, my shirt in the hallway or that are the wind must have blown it off the door handle because it was on the door handle. And then, at the same time, I'm noticing that it seems like, oh, you left the garage light on. I'm, like, I've been in the garage all day. Like, it's just this confusing like what's going on. And then I look in and look like all the drawers are all pulled out and everything.

And when I saw that, I knew that immediately know that because I was home all day with them. Rafi. So, I looked over and saw all the drawers pulled out. I think she turns, and I was like, it rough. You pull out all the drawers? And I'm like, no, he Do that yet. He's not that like, strong to pull some of those drawers and then it's like, oh, shit. And so what? You were literally gone. What? 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 20 minutes? That means it. I mean, who knows? A way to give it.

Maybe they were watching. Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. So we ended up getting some security footage from the guy across the road. Yeah. And yeah. So it looks like they were just sitting there waiting for someone to leave and then Jesus film. Yeah. Pretty shitty. Did you have a lot of stuff, taken some cash, and some of zainab's jewelry. It could have been a lot worse that happened to me. Once I came home, one day when I went to the beach, I think was manly Beach. Oh came home, and stuff was

everywhere. I just it, just didn't click, but I think at the time, the robber was in the house at the same time that I came home and then I heard this noise. And then I think you like he jumped out the bathroom window and then I was just it was just like a really confusing time and it's just like hang on a sec, just been robbed, you know.

It was just it was really weird and they like a week after that, this guy knocks on the door and he had like this big Awful bag and he was like, I'm looking for such-and-such straight like it was just like really weird but it was like he came back for a second time. It was like get the hell out of here kind of thing. Yeah, boy. Yeah. So anyway, so we're getting some security cameras now. Yes, that's my recommendation. That's so how has that colored your view of this suburb?

You haven't been in that long? Yeah, I know it's pretty big dent in it actually. Yeah, that's what I'm now looking at. It's like, we were kind of prime targets because it's like, we back on to it. A park like an easy getaway and easy entry. Like you know, and we don't have a dog, which is always like you know, if you have a dog it's like increases your chances of not getting robbed significantly. Yeah. And what's the other thing and

we didn't have security cameras. So it's like any of those dreams? Don't floor it. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Oh, yay, toejam. Have you seen this? Rob's very interested in this this Diamonds and Pearls symbol album reissue. As in, I've seen the the images of the yeah, there was something. Images that leaked right of the other pressing that, right? Yeah. That's all I've seen.

I haven't looked into it, you know, you excited, you excited for a regular, those albums, just sounds so bad, you know? They really, they're really must start like if I could pick any help me, the entire press discography that needed remastering, it would be those two. That would be my first top of the list. Yeah, I don't know what it would mean to remaster them really like, I don't know how well there's only one way to do it is to botch it. Really?

I mean it's such a fine line, like they sound good as they are. So like, what else? Possibly We could they do. Are they remasters though? Yes, it says remastered by Bernie. I thought it was just that they were releasing them on vinyl again. I because they've been like out of here. Well, it is vinyl if it's design remastered 180 gram vinyl colored vinyl. I think the only way they could do it legitimately would be to pull up the original like tapes and then make a master.

That's like, you know, 24-bit or something like a higher bit rate than what the original CD was something like that. That's the only way they could do it. Emily. I think maybe. I mean maybe who knows? Maybe that's what they've done. Maybe I could just push all the volume. Fighters it right up, just all the crap out of it. Maybe they can do that. They might well yeah, but he's got to be death by now, but if there's no way he is still doing, what there's no way now. He is.

He is yeah. Now here, I read somewhere that he's still around but his son and his team do, most of the work. Now they do most of it, but he does select. He still has an advisor. Yeah, he signed the No, No, he does select the, he actually does select project, he's done a couple. All of our handful of jazz reissues in recent times for some like really. It's like if like some if they pay one of your file labels. Yeah. Yeah. Like some audio file labels.

This is what he is going to be 80 over 80 by now. How good could he hears be? That's my question. I'm in my ears of rubbish. Now Your ideas. Well, I want you. I'm not far off. I'm not far off, it feels like. Yeah. Oh. So is this something that we're gearing up for, or what you said money first day? Like the merchandise or like you said the other day first, the picture they leaked was the standard remaster. And everyone's like for who cares, why would you bother with

that? Then then there was like, the next level like, oh, there's a deluxe edition and it's a way for it. The b-sides, and the It's how exciting the cream. EP. I haven't even saying that I've only seen the one with the standard LP, like the standard. Yeah, it's the same thing as I did with the others, like the b-sides in the end. It's nothing new. So, because that came out, then a few days later that came out. And now everyone's like, well, a week later, are they going to do?

Oh, here's the Super Deluxe. It's like, it's just if it's real it's just a dumb attempt at like a viral sort of marketing thing because like gorillas, you know, marketing the way they leak, was someone put them on. On eBay. It's a very odd way to do it and it's like other trying to, like, drum up, interest that way. I don't know what they're doing. I don't know if it's actually a ploy for generating interest.

I think it's legitimately, this is something they press six months ago that never go. Yeah, it was, it was, it was pressed ages ago once managed. Yeah. Yeah. And someone managed to get a copy and you know, that's the other thing, there was a leak at the plant and someone's like, let's make some cash. It's interesting if that's what happened. Then are they going to force the hand of the estate to bloody move on this? Because I've been sitting on it for like at least. A year and a half.

Yeah. You know these were all pressed a while ago. Mmm. So we'll say. Anyway, well they got that willing and able video mix on the deluxe one. That's actually sort of half interesting thing. There's that and there's like that full 10-minute. Get off version. Oh yeah, he's a minute version but they pressing whatever it was. Yeah, the white label thing. Yeah.

Look. If we're gonna get like schoolyard, we have to get schoolyard because that was the original title of the album before he decided to change it. So he has. That doesn't mean be Estates going to give us Us what we want. There's there's no could be the original. Is it suitable for 2023? Yeah, there's going to or is it another extra level of skill with ya? All that's got some bad words. Let's just omit the entire

thing. There's something recently that one of the Snoop Dogg concerts was like, oh, he's in trouble because he slapped one of the dancers, on the, but in the show, am I really? Yeah, I didn't do that in the ACT to to all of ya. Yes, it is funny. You like it is, it is really funny how that generation can change the perception on that stuff. We already talked about this before they like changing like Roald Dahl books because you can't say this word and you

can't say that word. They gone back to James Bond and changing stuff in that because it's not appropriate. It's like our man. It's never going to end. You know, everything's always going to be changing. You can't constantly adapt. All these old things to fit the new. This is what is acceptable this week but that's that's what they're doing. Wait till the symbol album. Comes out with every reference to sixteen-year-old B A admitted. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah yeah. Oh my God I forgot about.

Yeah. But that was all good back then to as well as I never thought about it and it was only a few years ago, someone started making a thing about it on Twitter. And I'm like, oh yeah, she was really young and he was not so young and I never thought about it until like about five years ago or something. It is just never even entered my head right? And yeah if that if it came up again, it'll be like, yeah, that that might be an issue. Rob is just in silence.

Nothing to say, avoid The am avoiding the controversy more like it. These are what they call them. Mom, rabbit holes, I think. Yeah, some of the stuff that's going on today, that's for sure. So what are the recommendations? The end of the show? What is this? The last two is this? This is it? This is the last one. Well, I actually don't know what's happening. I mean, it's an honor but I'm thinking of you did police like police academy or a that's

that's what appropriate. Yeah. Awesome. Awesome. Was the last was at seven six or seven was like mission to Moscow or something Devon. They got really bad after them. Like I think the first few was already. Yeah. Citizens on patrol. I remember I love them as a kid. Yeah. And I remember watching One on TV couple years ago and just like what is this trash like you? So even though the ones I thought were good.

Like I remember like as a kid number of I love number for kind of problem but that's a got the bar scene, right? Are they all have that? That's a running big little boy stur. Yeah, I remember catching on TV. Got this is the, this is the best, the best one and I'm watching I'm like, this is just terrorist. Is this? Not the one I thought of was? Oh God. I think I like the last one had just like, one original members. Yeah. There was a tackleberry. Was the only one who'd last year

told her. Yeah. Exactly. Michael wins. Like maybe. Yeah. He was he'd moved on Jamal. What he came out here? Not that I few years ago and he was like doing it. A tour of just, like, getting up and doing sound effects. And it's like wow it's so it's it's it's capturing soundscapes. That's what he was doing doing. Well, this is a this is approximately one hundred percent. Well, I just want to say thanks to German rub for coming. No worries. Thanks again.

I'll put those notes for the album. Wait, for next time but it's made of all our listeners alongside the child of the Sun. Every time I even think contemplate, if we had done that side of the times 2 lakhs, I just want to cry because just the amount of work and that the editing and just All the crap that would have gone into it. It just would have been a shame. It would have been. I mean, 1999 was what 12 and a half hours, long total?

I think if we ever did it, we would have had to figure out a way to do it. Like it was just, we couldn't go through the whole thing. We would have had to just do, like an overview episode or something. So that's about it. Oh what did we learn this week? It's time for. What did we learn this week? I know what toejam learned. Yeah. I didn't even tell my getting robbed story when we We lived in we were in Summerhill in Sydney, and this is like late 2000s.

Maybe two thousand, eight, nine, ten. We lived in like a ground-floor really unit was this during Peach and black times might have just been before. I can't remember. We had a Korean girl, renting the spare bedroom and it was like a ground floor unit and there was no arm bars on the windows or anything was just windows. That was back when it was sort of okay too. Have bars on your windows, on

the ground floor. Now it's a bloody very rare to even say that but yeah, I just came home one day and yet again, like everyone said it's just you just looking around. You like, what's not right here, you just have this feeling like that, wasn't there. Oh, where's where's that thing? And I reckon it took me half an hour before I even realized what had happened because they literally had only taken like

three or four things. They took the Korean girls laptop because she left it on her bed like right in front of the window and that was the window they came in. I don't know whether she left it. One or not. But that's the window they came in. So her laptop was gone and they took my, you remember, before I had that edirol recorder, I had that I think it was an eye River. Something. Yeah. Had that they took that I River of some was that was.

Yeah, I took that and just, I don't know, a couple of other things, all my CDs and everything. Untouched DVDs, nothing, like entire wall, full of that crap. Nothing even, they knew they were. It's all useless at that time that they like your collection and it's just printed my coffee. Star Trek. I'm not interested in any of that worthless don't care, but yeah, it's just a weird feeling when you go into your house and you like it. Yeah.

Well it's like why? Like yeah it's like you realize it but then your brains not not that it's not accepting it but it's kind of like cause you know how often does it happen? When you think it happened and then you think no of course like you know, you come home, the doors opening all shit and it's on. I just didn't close probably

something like that. Yeah. And so it's like it's happened and you've you realize it's happened, but your brain is still like, oh, maybe it's actually this and he's like, no, it's not bad. It's Definitely this. Yeah, it was Rafi. Who pulled all the drawers and pulled out everything, so he got a superhuman strength and just went crazy. Yeah, yeah. Oh, well, it's a horrible feeling MC. What did you learn this week?

I couldn't think of anything, but I learned something on this show, which was what you said earlier. Apparently, there are people out there who stick a microphone to their hats or heads and walk around cities. Recording, ambient noise, uploading it to YouTube and calling those things soundscapes. Yeah. And apparently they get Of listens or views. I guess. It's listens because it's audio. So that's yeah, I had not heard

of that. I'm going to have to like, look into it and see what that's all about. I actually recorded one. I have like a things about 20 minutes and I recorded this in Malaysia.

Like 10 years ago, we were out in the middle of Malaysia in the jungle in like, this massive National Park and they had this I think they called like a bird hide or something and they're like up high and you look out over like some sort of area and they're like oh if you see In here and look out, you'll see, you know, animals walk across this section all the time. I stared out, I recorded but I stared out like in the dark.

I reckon at least an hour. You don't know how hard your eyes can stare at something until you've done that just staring into the, you just make out like there's the trees and there's, there's the thing. I don't think I saw any thing ever, but the number of times, I thought I did because you just staring at the dark and your brain. Just like I was just, I just need Something happened here. I'll just make you think you saw that thing move?

That's like have you heard about earlier about this recently about this room that's built and it's the quietest room in the world and when you're in there you can't stay in there for longer than 30 minutes or something. Because you can hear the blood rushing through your veins.

It's like really in say yeah. Like everyone could last you 30 seconds of a couple minutes, but like I said, 10 minutes like that's about it. Most people are out at 10 minutes because you can just hear all you can hear is your body and all the sounds It's the weird sounds that it makes, and it's all Amplified because it's the most soundproof room ever and people just cannot handle like the silence is deafening. But then once you start focusing on the sound of your body.

Yeah, they're like, no, I'm out of here and I really want to go in there. Sounds amazing but I'm sure I'd be running out of there as well. I think you send me that link. Yeah, but yeah. Anyway, I recorded about I think 25 minutes in this Malaysian jungle and like causes a rainforest like it poured rain, literally about five times during that time. Five minutes. And so that's all the sounds are on there.

And there's all this jungle animals making sounds and it's really cool but I've never uploaded it but I should do it. Yeah, it should. You'll get like a thousand hits on a chair that's that, that's that I wonder well, I haven't got that kept up with YouTube. Does that would a thousand hits on YouTube for a soundscape. Like the give you any kind of gain any profit? I know I've been a YouTuber. Yeah, it's huge. You but YouTube have changed.

Every time you jump through all the Hoops to satisfy their stupid. And they just change them again. Change every month later. Yeah. That's like, that's why we gave up putting stuff on YouTube because they just kept making it harder and harder just like flybys. Yeah, I saw something I read something today that Spotify. And now saying to artists, if you take a lower fee, like in royalties for your music in exchange for quote, unquote exposure, this is the thing that

they're doing now. They're ripping these guys off evenly. How could you how could you pay them any less right now? They're saying like, I will Kind of like bump you up in an algorithm like as Annex as a trade-off like and you get paid like virtually. Nothing to what it is. Already virtually nothing. And the sad thing is some people will take it. Oh yeah. I'll take it. Because they won't say exposure. Especially new people. You wouldn't you don't have a choice.

Of course, you'll take that deal. Yeah you know if you're getting point zero zero zero two cents, who cares? Notice the difference. Wow. What did you learn player? Well, I'll Let that we've got all the OG Peach and black members on toe jams birthday for the 100th episode. Like it takes all the bought something, that's amazing. It's still it's what's the word surreal? Like when MC said the hello, hello, hello. I was just like, oh, wow! There it is, it's almost as

insane. As when we were sitting around a prince and I'm like, oh wow, that's the guy. That's the guy right there. It felt like that. It was so stupid. But like I said, that's how How I felt. It's like, oh wow, he's really saying it anyway. Does it that we don't? Is it? The end of the show? Did everyone learn something I think. So what did I learn? What did I learn this way security? Hmm. Yeah. Coffee what I love this week is flybys can suck it. That's what I learned.

Those idiots toejam. Do you do flybys? No boys, I've always had that mentality. Like I'm not doing that stuff because I always just find it's

not worth my time or not. Now like I would rather, I would rather spend 30 years, having spent maybe a not got a free something along the line but knowing that I've had all this free time of not checking my flybys every you know, checking my points and all going out and buying something, because I get extra points and yeah, Anyway, that's the end that's the only show. Holy moly, it's the Centenary that's it. Yeah, crazy. So James impressed. Yeah, I mean it's a good shows.

That's pretty crazy and you said you had more so like it's actually the count is really more than that. That's a stricken where one is. There is there a vault is it? Yeah, there's always evolving. Always of all. I thought it would probably maybe 115. I'd say because we did a bunch of specialists in the borough. And who knows what's happened next? Who knows, what's coming next? Will see Robin toe jam in next week's show. Mr. Van solids from president,

that he's everything. We've said tonight is going to be chopped up into word by word, and then they're gonna put us in every show like over over the course of a year, like, I sent ya sentence there. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Just speak a bit slick. Just speak a bit slower tozier, can you say that again? You've already got the sound bites of them saying, stupid Chicken Mania so we can insert it anywhere in any shirt. Well, I can now be based on what you guys have been doing.

I wanna start taking my stuff and I will, you know, way more seriously. I'm going to catch up play catch-up now. I wouldn't say we're taking it that seriously. I mean, maybe they're in. Maybe the only thing is how many episodes, you know. Yeah, that's it. You guys are doing it regularly. I don't know, I have to count but it that's over years of like start-stop. You know, it's not kind of the same thing doing it regularly and you start a new project. Yeah, IBS. Yeah, I'm really just by

soundscapes. I was for the time being, I'm keeping what, I'm what I've got now, but like, I just want to go hard on. Ya, do more of it, the more of it, see if I can keep up a consistent schedule, like these guys are doing. So, that's what she said. Let's see. What is your show? Told you my show, the music teacher? I have to ask you. How did that recording go? You see, he had that Elite? Yeah, group of musicians, you're going to do a recording. D. Yeah. Went really go around.

Yeah, went really well. Did you do the remix of shoot? The duck? No, I should have done more. He did three songs on the day but like looking back on it. So I had more time in the answers. Are we should have? I was convinced I was going to get there and like something was going to go wrong, sometimes kind of a flat tire, they wouldn't turn up and then it'll be like, okay we have to rearrange this beard or something and or you know this thing is not working so we'll

have to get this thing. They'll still take an hour to fix or something and so we ended up finishing up like getting everything done. It was like 2:00 and like shit it go like oh that's cool. It's quantity. The tea? No, no. The other way. Yeah. The other way around. Yeah. So where can we find this these recordings? Well, is it coming out? Is it out? Yeah. Like it's basically mixed. I'm just finishing off the video. Oh, great video. Is it just people playing or is

like a music video? Yeah, no no let's just yeah because I got everyone to film themselves playing. He's doing a music video, like my name is Prince. He's going to be walking down an Alleyway where trash cans on fire and everything, Sonny T kicking the crap out of himself. Yeah. And told James got like the cap with the chains. That's right. But no, yeah, no. It's it's coming out soon. It's like, 98% done, really well. Thank you everybody. Awesome. Thank you for coming for having me.
