¶ Intro / Opening
Thank you so much for joining us on Super Bracket Bros . My name is Jay , your host and your personal brrrracketologist . This is the podcast that takes your favorite fictional characters from across the multiverse and throws them into a tournament to find out just who is the best of the best .
Today we have what our AP voters suggest should be our closest match , with our 8 vs 9 seed , with Bowser vs the colossal Titan And , of course , as always , sitting across from me , i have my co-host and your colossal , koopa Elias Stokes . How you doing today ?
Eli , i'm doing well . The shell is very big and very annoying .
You're not enjoying the Koopa lifestyle . Is that what you're saying ?
No , no , because I thought , oh , i'm colossal . Mario won't be able to stomp on me , but Nintendo , they keep giving him power ups that make him colossal .
So I just get stomped on . Are you saying that there's a protagonist antagonist bias going on here from Nintendo , that they don't favor their villains for some reason ?
No , koopa's not good . Bowser is a terrible boss , so I'm getting blindside from both sides .
Oh , I have to pay for my shell replacement Jay Mario takes all my coins . Wow . So you get . Wow . I mean , this is just like the classic American experience . You're getting it from the government and from like thieves on the street ?
Yeah , but the thieves , the hero , man , garbage .
Thank you so much for having joined us on today's episode . Today we are talking Fury Bowser from Bowser's Fury versus the Colossal Titan from Attack on Titan As a first round episode . How today's episode is going to break down is , well , we have a couple of guests to introduce and get to know .
Then the bulk of the first half is going to be getting to know our fighters today and then , of course , the back half is going to be who would win in a fight between Fury Bowser and the Colossal Titan . Like I said , we have a couple of guests to introduce , starting off part one of two parts of having affable chat on in two episodes in a row .
That is right If you're not familiar with affable chat . Affable chat is me and you guys favorite movie podcast that we get to go on all the time and talk about just everything , from everything all at once , all the way to Jurassic Park . We always enjoy going on , always enjoy their banter , their critiques , their thinking , their thought process on movies .
It's always a joy to get to listen to affable chat . It's why we are honored to have Joey on today's episode . How are you doing today , joey ?
I'm doing great . Thanks for having me on , jay . It's a pleasure to be here .
How are you feeling about today's episode ?
I'm feeling pretty good . I'm not a huge , i'm not an Attack on Titan fan I've barely watched the show but I love Bowser and these characters are interesting to talk about , so I'm excited to be here . I feel like this is going to be the most objective I've ever been on Super Bracket Bros .
Wow , that's quite the claim . We'll see at the end how objective you're feeling Once we put Bowser to the test . Are you really going to stay objective ? We'll find out . But we have one more guest to introduce today , the other guest today , i mean , also we're going back to back episodes .
Last episode we had the Wait For It podcast and this episode we have the Wait For It podcast .
On The other half today , the Wait For It podcast if you're not familiar , if you haven't gone , check it out the hundred times that I have suggested you to do so is the best pop culture podcast on the internet where you're going to find anime reviews , you're going to find suggestions for , i mean , it's called Netflix and Phil , but it's just Apple TV , you know
promo all day long .
It really is . Thank you for calling that out .
Which I'm okay with because Apple TV is fantastic . but that's right . We are being joined by one , mr Eric Almighty How you doing today , eric .
I am doing great , doing fantastic . I'm ready for this episode . I have been looking forward to it and it was nice , you know , to see Phil come away with like back to back wins . You know he's on a streak , positive streak .
I'm looking to rebound from a pretty tough loss the last time I came off first loss , hopefully only So really really looking forward to this .
I want to say the head to head , like records of the Way For It . Guys are probably my favorite subplot of Super Bracket Bros . It's something I always look forward to developing .
Gotta keep it going . But I'm glad that you're excited for today's episode , but I want to give our audience a little bit of a chance to get to know the both of you a little bit more . So , joey , let's start with you . If you could live the day in the life of a fictional character , who would ?
it be . Okay , jay . So this question is a little different than the other ones you've asked me , because I feel like this is a little more personal . So I really kind of struggled to find an answer . I think most people would gravitate toward like a superhero , not just because the general theme of this show , but because it's also really cool to have superpowers .
But I'm not really convinced that this would be much fun . After all , with great power comes great responsibility , and most of our popular heroes don't really seem to be having a great time And when we tune in to watch their story something terrible is happening to them . Even though they have godlike powers , they just seem kind of miserable .
So maybe we should go in a different direction . If I wanted superpowers , i would want the flashes powers , but the flash has ethics and a moral duty to protect the stability of time Like pathetic . But what about Ia Barton , also known as the reverse flash ? He has all the flashes powers , but he has no limits .
Time is like silly putty in his hands and he bends the multiverse to his whim . But I feel like this doesn't really answer the spirit of the question . Because the truth is , jay , if you were to give me Ia Barton's life for a day , it wouldn't be for just one day . First , how are you going to catch me to put me back in my mortal podcasting body ?
It would be impossible .
I would be hiding between moments , traveling to the far past and distant future , leaving no trace . But even if you could catch me , to a time traveler like Thon , a day is an infinite amount of time . Seconds can stretch into decades if you know what you're doing . And with the vast powers at my disposal , my every whim could be fulfilled .
God may have taken six days to create the universe , but I can rip it to pieces and just one Ah , but no , i don't think power is the way to go here .
Jay , don't excuse my French , but don't ask me that fucking question next .
I don't want to answer . I don't want to answer after that . That was nuts . I'm not done here , so I don't think power is the way to go here . Who knows what kind of elaborate prison of my own hubris those losers at Team Flash have cooked up for me . They may not have much imagination , but they're not stupid .
No , i think I would want to live my one day in the life of a chill guy , a guy that really has it all figured out . Every day is kind of the same , but every day is full of excitement , friendship and mystery , and at the end of my one day I can sit back , have a snack with my dog and be content with a job well done .
Any guesses of who this is ?
Are you going with Shaggy ?
That's right , I would live my one day as Shaggy from Scooby-Doo .
No that's amazing . Every day we see in Shaggy's life follows a very similar pattern but it's never boring .
He is constantly running in mortal terror , but the dangers are largely imaginary and toothless . You get to hang out with your best friends and go to cool places and meet cool guest stars who always say your catchphrases . Plus , you spend all day with the most iconic good boy of all time , sharing snacks , sharing adventures . It's a pretty sweet gig .
Look , we all know Shaggy's deal He's getting high in the van with a dog . I could do that . The thing about Shaggy is the pressure is so off . Fred has to be the leader , daphne has to look great , velma has to be the brains . No one wants to hear what the dog thinks .
If I was to replace Shaggy for a day in the Mystery Machine , the expectations would be super low and the rest of the team wouldn't suffer from Shaggy's absence . It's a low interference , highly entertaining ride . The thing that clinches this for me is that Mr Gang is doing really good work .
Shaggy is out there taking out petty capitalists and bringing life and wonder to ancient structures .
He's part of the candle in the dark against the demon-haunted world , and that's what I'm really looking for when I'm missing in my real life The chance to do good , to use science , reason and fun to shine a light where others don't dare tread , to make the world a little less scary and to punish those who hide in fear , hide in the dark and thrive on fear .
Scooby-doo is about showing that the supernatural is a tool used by the powerful to control the rest of us . Shaggy isn't anything special , but he's still dedicated himself to fighting the good fight through collective action and real bravery , standing in the path of barbarism .
Joey , it sounds like you're about to abandon your life to go be Shaggy I hope that I didn't persuade you to abandon your family and go live in a van and try to solve mysteries . Wow , all the way from the highs of Reverse Flash , all the way down to , also , the highs of Shaggy and Scooby Wow , that's quite the journey you took us on , yeah .
I hope you enjoyed that I did . I thoroughly did . No , I'd like to unlearn all of that . I'd like to unknow you a little bit .
If we could do a Reverse Questionnaire on unknowing him or anybody else , that'd be great . That is nuts . That is nuts And Jay . I didn't get a question in advance so I wasn't able to write up basically a full book chapter of a response . That was amazing . I'm never going to talk to that .
Nothing I ever do from this point on will tell anything that just happened . I think it's best that we move on from it .
Don't pretend . If I had given you a week , that you would have written a page essay .
For me , it doesn't matter what you're going to get , and now I'm nervous .
My palms are sweaty .
Have you ever tried to answer a question with sweaty palms ? It doesn't work . It was weak , exactly , oh gosh .
I mean .
I really don't intend for this introduction section to turn into some pseudo rap battle . I don't know what you expected .
I don't know what you expected . I feel like I've dictated . I feel like I've telegraphed this to you , jay . I don't know what you expected from me .
Listeners came in expecting Fieri Bowser fighting Colossal Titan . What they actually got was Eric Almighty fighting Joey from affable chat Yeah .
You know that was the battle that was coming , Oh gosh .
So , eric , let's toss it over to you . I know that's a lot to live up to , but I believe in you . You know there's a reason I didn't have a question for you today , because I've asked you all the questions that I've generated . So , I have complete faith in you , so I want to know you know , do you have a favorite fictional weapon of all time ?
I do , and it's a boring-ass answer . That's why I'm so disappointed And how great that was . Yeah , it's definitely a lightsaber Like that , i know it's an easy answer , but I was a Star Wars kid .
I can't tell you how many times I pretended to have a lightsaber in my hands and I really realized how much it was like the weapon of choice for me , because when I went to Disney just a few weeks ago maybe a month ago we went to Hollywood Studios and I was this close to buying a lightsaber One of those very expensive .
You got to make an appointment to go get it made .
Oh man , Lightsabers at .
Disney because it was just so cool . You know they were making droids , they were making lightsabers , the rides are stellar the Rise of the Resistance ride , by the way , one of the best rides I've ridden in quite some time . And again it's just Star Wars , like that whole environment , that whole vibe , it's amazing .
So , yeah , i'm going to go with the easy choice , but it is nostalgic for me the lightsaber . So there you go , little piece of my childhood .
What color is your lightsaber ?
What color ? Honestly , I've always liked green . Blue is the normal one . You know , Mace Windu's got the purple , the red's the sith , I don't know . green , just something about it screams like that's your real Jedi .
when you get the green lightsaber , That's the way I feel , i know of the lightsabers that you speak of and , man , that's tempting , that's tempting . So I applaud you , sir , actually , for not throwing more money in Disney's pocket .
No , literally , i'm not even kidding . I walked up and I was like , hey , do you guys do the lightsabers here ? They're like , yeah , you normally got to make an appointment , but if you come back in 30 minutes I can fit you in .
I was like oh no , and then I just I was hoping you were going to say no , i stood around for 29 minutes
right in the area and I was like I can't do this .
And honestly only for the fact that I would have no reason for it , like I have nowhere to . Really I don't want to spend that much money to just put it up . Doesn't get used or looked at , really Like I'm not going to whip it out every now and then . That would be for company .
Hey guys , look , no , that's not how that's going to work .
I'm glad , Eric . thank you for sharing .
Yeah , yes , we can , we can move on now You have permission . No problem You don't have to have to take it on . You're a bowser colossal . Let's do this .
So now let's talk about our fighters . Let's get to know them a little bit more . Let's start with Bowser ,
¶ Bowser Breakdown
the king of the Koopas . Bowser is one of the most famous video game characters of all time and needs a little introduction , but I will try my best . Ever since the original Super Mario Bros that came out in 1985 .
Bowser has been trying to defend his kingdom of Koopas and his beloved princess peach from the evil doer that is Mario and his wretched brother Luigi . The Bowser we are discussing today comes from the 2021 game Bowser's Fury , the open world 3D platform game for the Nintendo Switch .
In the game , bowser takes on a form that puts him officially in the kaiju category and more than capable of making some noise in this tournament . Going behind the scenes a little bit , the most well-known voice actor for Bowser throughout the games has been Kenny James .
Fun fact about Kenny James today a little bit of a crossover here is he actually was also the voice of Fritz from Attack on Titan .
His most recent version in pop culture comes from the extremely popular Super Mario Bros movie that was released just a few months ago , where he was , of course , portrayed by none other than Jack Black Excellently , i will say myself I agree , peaches , yep , there it is .
Joey , tell us about your experience with the Mario franchise at large , and then specifically about Bowser's Fury .
Um , i love Mario . I love the Mario games . I think my favorite one is 3D World . Despite some of its flaws , i still find that game extremely fun . I've played it almost all the way through , including the like 10 bonus worlds that come with that game like three or four times It's . And I also really like Super Mario Galaxy , super Mario World .
I had my Game Boy Advance one of the first games I ever played And I actually had a world where I got to 999 lives by basically playing the same level over and over again in farming lives in it , because I was so afraid of losing my save .
I never even beat the game on it . It was ridiculous . That's how .
I used to play video games when I was nine years old . I have always liked the Mario franchise . I feel like it's still the quintessential platformer . I'm a big fan of that genre and no one really does it better than Mario .
The ability to move about the stage and the way that your character can move , based on different characteristics like how fast you're moving and what kind of power-ups you have , are all really really interesting and displayed really really well in the game is so beautiful because it doesn't require any sort of tutorial .
All you need to do is play it and it will teach you how to play it right there on the screen , and it's pretty incredible stuff . I'm just a huge fan of Mario franchise . I think it's beautiful , i think it's fun to play and I even like the movie . The Bowser's Fury was like a fun thing for me because I'm such a big fan of 3D World .
It plays with a lot of the same 3D World mechanics , uses the cats as a major motif , which I think is fun , because I like to think of cats as extra-planer beings , so having them be representing an extra dimension in the good world is fun . So that's a . I think the game is really cool .
It's sort of an experiment for Nintendo because it's one world but with a bunch of different lands that you can go to , very small , very compact , and it has this recurring event of Bowser coming up and attacking . Yeah , i played it when it came out . I played it through Joy-Con Drift .
Unfortunately , that is the thing that stood out to me , but I did get new controllers and have played it since . It's a very fun game and I really like being the cat . Cat Mario is awesome and I really like getting really big and messing up Bowser in every way I can . Nintendo is clever about the way they structure their games .
It's the same thing , but it's not actually the same thing . It's a different world that you're loaded into . It just looks like it's smaller . They're very clever about the way they structure those things , so I was a big fan of it . I thought Fury Bowser was intimidating large . I said , wow , that guy's big and I hope I get to be that big one day .
Very astute observation , joey . Maybe once you feed enough veggies you'll get there . Thanks , Jay . Eric , i want to toss it over to you Now . I know that you haven't played Bowser's Fury , but tell us generally about your Mario fandom . I guess , specifically , we should talk about the elephant in the room . We should talk about the Mario movie .
Yeah , no . So a couple things on Super Mario , while it's not a current thing that I actively play . Really , i moved away from Nintendo after the 64 . Nintendo 64 was the console to have And , of course , every Mario game under the sun I played . Super Mario World is obviously really great , but I've seen good things about Super Mario Galaxy .
It's obviously lived on with a lot of these other iterations . Mario Kart , the classic right Mario and all the characters are so iconic It's hard not to get intrigued .
That's why , when the movie came out , i knew I had to watch it and man did it not disappoint , which is very surprising because everyone wanted to hate that movie with Chris Pratt , castus Mario He didn't do a bad job . He didn't do a bad job .
I enjoyed it a lot more than I needed to because it's definitely catered to kids , but I'm really excited for this next generation to be able to experience those characters and , very selfishly , all the type of Nintendo-like movies that are going to come from it , because now that Mario is one of the most successful animated films , is that have come out in a while
. I mean , yeah , we're going to see it all And I can't wait to see that eventually turn into , you know , a little Super Smash Bros movie .
So I think , that's , I think it's inevitable , honestly . Yeah , and Super Bracket Bros is going to be riding that high into podcast fame , almost certainly . So we're just waiting . Nintendo , you just give us a call and we'll be there at the red carpet , do an interview , talk to the stars about who would win and what battle .
So you know , nintendo , you just let us know We'll be there .
The Super Smash Bros movie is just an hour and a half of Jay and me just arguing .
Maybe we could get you know . I mean like they had you know , like semi-famous people , like do cameos and like the Dungeons Dragons movie and like the McRoy brothers were in trolls , and like we could be like extras in the . Super Smash Bros movie right .
Yeah , yeah . Like we deserve it for all the press of Super Smash Bros . You can be candy fodder or something . You can smash it away , Yeah we could be the me's .
We could be , me's just hanging out .
Like that would get destroyed .
I'm okay with that . Let's talk about Bowser in general . I kind of want to hone in on what makes him so iconic . Is it just being counterpart to the most famous video game character of all time , in Mario , you know ? is that why Bowser's iconic , or what does make Bowser special ?
I think there's like there's a lot to Bowser . That is simplicity , right . But one of the things I like about Bowser is that he is just a bad guy . There's not like a lot of nuance going on about like , oh , like he's doing it for you know this reason or anything . He's just bad .
He's always capturing people , putting them in jars and , you know , putting them in cages . He's always destroying stuff and causing chaos throughout the Mushroom Kingdom . You know , unleashing monsters onto the world . Everyone else is .
You know , the Toads and Peach and Mario are always just kind of having a good time hanging out and then Bowser comes in to ruin the party . So he's always you know , he's always the villain and I enjoy that . I think that the other thing is that like he's also kind of industrialist , right , he's always building new stuff .
You got all these castles everywhere staffed by his children . It's just a . It's like you know he has this Bowser really kind of flavors the whole world in a big way . I think of Bowser as sort of a More attention is paid to him than he is to Mario . Mario is kind of your avatar , right .
He's kind of He does whatever you say , but Bowser is like the thing that you're fighting . He's the big bad guy that's out there . He's got all the spikes on him , he looks pretty mean , he's got the fun coloring And he's always kind of developed alongside of Mario right .
As Mario has become more detailed and more interesting , bowser has also developed new powers and become bigger and bigger and more intimidating . So it's fun to like see these kind of you know twin stars constantly orbiting each other . I think I think it's more than he's just about like Mario's antagonist . I think he is like an iconic .
You know he's a lizard , he's spiny , he's kind of the sort of dragon like you know . He's sort of the antithesis , or not the antithesis , but like the epitome of , like the evil creature from your imagination , in a way .
Yeah , and it kind of bounced off what Jerry was talking about . Bowser , i mean , like he said , he just looks iconically evil . You know , he's got the horns , he breathes higher , he's kidnapped princesses , it's just . There's a beauty in the simplicity with him .
But I really love how Nintendo developed him in the in sort of the later 3D platformer games , but also the Mario RPGs , where they just make him a giant goofball .
Yes , Almost , because Mario , yeah , paper Mario , such a goof .
It is amazing He's . He actually joins your party in some of the games And the whole time he's just like Yeah , I'm a big evil guy , but I'm helping you . You know , not because I , like you Remember that , And it's just like that . That was one of the best things the movie did was nailing that energy of just being this really large and intimidating figure .
But his heart is just a huge dork And , like I love just Bowser's , one of my favorite villains , not just in video games but across all media . Because of that reason , because you really could put him in any situation and he'd be entertaining , Yeah .
I agree with that Sure .
So
¶ Colossal Titan Breakdown
let's move on to our next fighter . Today , let's talk about the cult lossal Titan . Birt Hold Hoover is among the remaining humans in the post apocalyptic world of attack on Titan , the global scourge that has pushed all of humanity back to a single city on a single island .
Among the last remaining humans in the city , there are those that possess the ability to transform into special versions of Titans . Birt Hold is one of those humans able to turn into the colossal Titan , the largest , most iconic and most feared within the attack on Titan universe .
Most typical Titans look fairly similar to humans , but with exaggerated and usually extremely disturbing features . The colossal Titan shows almost no skin , with most of its body just being exposed bone and muscle . If there is one kaiju in this tournament that will win with nothing but sheer strength , it will be the colossal Titan .
As for the origin and creation of the character , it's thanks to the original artist and writer of the attack on Titan manga , hajime Asayama . The manga has sold over 110 million copies as of September 2022 , making it one of the best selling of all time .
On the television side of things , the anime has been developed by Witt Studio for the first 59 episodes and Mappa since episode 60 . Season 1 of the anime came out in 2013 and the release of the fourth and final season of the show is ongoing this year , a full decade later . Despite the… . Sporadic releases , the anime has received critical acclaim .
As for Birt Hold himself , he was voiced by David Matranga as the English dub voice and Tomohisa Hashizuma as the Japanese voice . Matranga is most well known for being the voice of Todoroki in My Hero Academia and , more recently , as Ken in the recently released Street Fighter 6 . Eric , let's talk about attack on Titan .
Like I said , it's been a well received series and incredibly successful In your eyes . What makes it so special and worthy of the praise ?
Well , funny enough , someone on TikTok asked this very similar question , so I'm going to give a very similar answer . It's by comparing attack on Titan to a show that was very popular at its peak , which is The Walking Dead . So the way I compare the two is an interesting comparison , to say the least .
They both deal with human characters dealing with these monsters in their world . They have amazing cliffhangers that you're like oh , i have to watch the next episode . They also set up the intensity to a point where you don't know who's going to live or who's going to die . Those stakes are really what make you get invested .
Where the two shows kind of divert The Walking Dead gets a lot of heat for putting the zombies in the background and the human to human story not being so interesting . Attack on Titan , though , when it makes that transition , the Titans are still really important and they play an important part .
There's a lot of history here , but when they get into things like social class and political divides , you're trying to figure out the true intent of certain characters . That's where the real intrigue happens .
So you're already sucked in , you're already loving the characters , you're loving the story , but when it takes that turn into some of you know at one point it's like a political drama and that at another point shit's just going off the rails and it's just nonstop action .
It's a really amazing what they're able to pull off and the twists and turns of the story . Jay , you're hearing it not going to really talk spoilers beyond the first season , but you're hearing a lot about you know , this war-torn , just like society , and this is the last of humanity . But is that really all there is to it ?
There seems to be something else going on at play here . There's something in a basement that they're trying to get to . They play that card at what feels like the right time and in the right time . For us was so many years later , to your point , the sporadic release schedule . I mean that is something we've had to go through .
So all of those things make Attack on Titan special , and now's the time to get into it , because it is finally wrapping up the final season , part seven .
The second coming .
Yeah , this is the perfect time because that's exactly what's happening . We've been going through the final season for like three years now . It's not great .
They're really scheduled So this is the perfect time And , yeah , that's right , i'm catching up . I wanted to watch Attack on Titan for a really long time and I have now watched most of the first season .
And , man , when I went to usually you know , shout out Madison Public Library system I get a ton of my stuff from there when I need to research for Super Bracket Bros I did the same thing for Attack on Titan . It's usually pretty straightforward . I went and looked at this website and I looked at checking all these , all the Blu-rays out .
It was so confusing , it was an absolute mess , like the amount of parts and like and the fact that I went in there and there were Blu-rays for season four , which I know is the last season which is coming out now , and I was like , wait , that doesn't make any sense . But then I realized how long this season has been coming out for But .
I know I'm not . It doesn't sound like I'm advocating for watching this show , but I am , because Eric is absolutely right . Now is the time to get on board . Like go and watch all of it all at once . Like you don't have to be the fanboy that started in 2013 and is soured a decade later because of the release is getting dragged out .
Like you don't have to deal with that . You can just watch it all right now . And it's amazing , like it's so good , like I am enjoying the heck out of this show . Eric is absolutely right . I've never watched I've never watched anime with so much intrigue , with so much like mystery to it on so many different levels .
You know , like we were discussing before the show started which you can listen to if you're a Patreon member , by the way . I was talking about , like how I was researching for this episode , like reading wikis and things like that , but they still didn't make sense .
Like it goes to , like I don't feel spoiled , even though I did my proper research for this episode , which is a wild feeling . You know it doesn't make any sense , but it just I'm still really looking forward to what's coming next in this series , what absolutely , like , who's going to who's going to die , what Titans are going to show up .
You know , like it's just man , it's a good show .
It's a good show And what I'll tell you is I can genuinely tell you you've like barely scratched the surface . So , again , this show really rewards you for sticking with it , and it's interesting along the way . It's not like an anime . This is Attack on Titan .
The first episode is one of the best first episodes of anything I've watched , like it's immediately gripping The colossal Titan who we're talking about , immediately up to no good and starting trouble .
So up to no good . It's a really nice way to put it . So again , you're like not even scratching the surface .
It has so much to reward you with later on . And fun fact if I was to make a top 10 list , which technically I did in an episode last month , i would put Attack on Titan currently at one .
So when I say you haven't even scratched the surface , this is definitely probably my favorite anime of all time , but collectively it's definitely the best one I've watched in my journey so far .
I'll be keeping you updated on my journey as I go . 100% . The show is great , it's critically acclaimed , but I'm wondering if you can speak to what makes it personally resonate with you .
So Attack on Titan in this world building that starts to happen in that first season . That just really resonated with me , just as a fan of storytelling and a fan of the genre and the medium of anime .
And it does everything so cool , like again , it's not just a good story , the animation amazing , with studio put their whole foot in that thing and then Mapa came in and was like we're gonna put two feet in it . So they treat the series so good and the characters are also really they're likable when they need to be in there .
They're unlikeable when they don't need to be . And that's the type of thing in this show that really long term , really makes this series special because you really do get attached with these characters and their journeys and this lifestyle .
But it is very brutal And that is definitely something that resonates with me because it just tells a different type of story .
When the world is so brutal like that And the things that these characters have to overcome and the environment that they're in , i just really love the genre because of this anime And that's what really makes it not resonate not only resonate with me , but also
¶ Colossal Titan v Bowser
makes it sentimental for me , because this is one of those early things that really started my obsession . It started with series like Death Note , which then translated into this , and then eventually my hero academia , which was a much tamer and more widespread anime people love And that was just it . For me , that was like all right , well , i love all of this .
This is great . I love the different directions that can take the different terms , just like the ODM gear all over the place . I love it .
And so one last thing that I want to touch on . We got to talk about the colossal tighten a little bit . It's a little tough to talk about because I mean the mental gymnastics I had to go through just to explain what the colossal Titan is And I don't really want to dive into like story stuff so much But like what about the colossal Titan makes it ?
it's hard to quantify , it's hard to put into words , like what the show makes you feel about these Titans .
Did the colossal Titan , just in sheer size , is intimidating . But then there are also other things like , for example , you know the ODM gear that these people have . Well , if you know that there's a human inside and you know the location , why can't you just kill him , why can't you just go get him ?
Well , the colossal Titan , it's not that he's just big and slow . He has the ability to basically exhaust his muscle mass into just sheer heat and just straight heat and steam . So you can't even get close to him without basically burning to a crisp . So those are the type of things that , without getting too deep into it , make the colossal really terrifying .
He's not just big and slow , but it's not like you can really get to him very easily . And that in itself , when it comes down to a test of willpower and really who's going to last , the colossal Titan has a good argument that he can . He can last through a pretty long battle , you know .
But once the battle's over for him , it's over , and we'll talk a little bit more about that .
On the weakness side , So , now that we know everything we need to know about our fighters , let's get into a fight . Shall we boys , let's do it . Let's do it Ready . Just as a reminder , this is a fight to incapacitation , whether it be death trapping on consciousness or a forceful battlefield removal .
It's also important to note that we take these characters as they are Morals , ethics and everything included , and , very important , that we have our random location generator this season with a bunch of cities , regions that we have been spinning all season long . So let's roll the dice and see where we are headed today . Wait the fuck up .
Samurai , we have a city to burn .
Last week we were in the real world . We were in New York City . This week we jump back into fiction . We are headed to the world of Cyberpunk 2077 . We are headed to Night City . Oh , it's nighttime here .
Yes it is .
Quite . Notably It's nighttime . It is Night City , but yeah . So if you're unfamiliar with the game , i mean it's a cyberpunk ass . Cyberpunk city It is about . I really don't know how to describe it .
It's just neon , big buildings , lots of rain , dark .
Yeah , exactly , neon is shit . I mean like if you the dogs have neon . I will imagine I mean gosh the Colossal Titan is going to be out of place here , but I mean alternatively , Fury Bowser is so dark he might have camouflage .
Well , it only comes out when it's thunderstorming or , like you know , darkness . When he appears , the sky turns dark . So you fit right in .
As our fighters are lumbering . you know , i think you know you have a slight illumination coming from all sides of just the neon . you know colors flashing over the disgusting muscle of the Colossal Titan and the leathery skin of Fury Bowser , so sorry , as these two beasts are approaching each other , i ask you how does this fight break ?
off Instead of lumbering towards each other ? can Bowser just be standing there and the Colossal Titan just pops out of nowhere ?
like in that one scene . I think that's appropriate .
His face disappears over a build up like a skyscraper , just as mean mug .
Okay . So I think Bowser has a couple of advantages in this fight , and one of them is he is fast . He's not I wouldn't say he's like really quick , he's not , he's not like faster than Mario , but he is , i think , faster than the colossal Titan . He can jump really far . He can throw himself into the air .
You know , i think if we're going off of the the you know Boove sequence that we see in the game , i think the first thing we can expect for him is either to jump into the air and then come crashing down on the Titan with his spikes , you know , slamming into the ground , creating a shockwave that destroys everything around it , or he starts to inhale and
starts to build up the power to launch his lava laser Across the city at this Titan and that's where I think the colossal Titan has a boon in the setting .
He has plenty of Cover to dodge from the flame breath , because before that's true before . It's fine . I was thinking , if this is a wide open area , the colossal Titan's kind of got disadvantaged because he has no , he has no range to compare . Obviously he has mid range with that steam blast and he can pick up stuff and throw it .
But Bowser would have the advantage in this . You know , it's a beam like .
It's straight up Godzilla style , like breath that Just right clears through the map in the in Bowser's fury when you're little Mario and Bowser is Furiously , you know spraying at you , you can just hide behind any like structure and he will . He won't be able to hit you .
So I think that the city will give lots of good cover for our Titan , despite how big he is . Yeah .
Yeah , I would say with Bearthold . He's gonna be wondering why he's in his Titan form . So obviously he's gonna pretty much spawn and be like I didn't do that . He's also a very timid character , so he's not one that typically takes charge . Necessarily , that is , that is for his counterpart in the show To really do . He really follows more than he leads .
So that's interesting , considering He is the biggest Titan Out of them all , arguably one of the strongest , if not the strongest . So the thing with him is I think he will kind of be standing still . So you know , joy brings up a good point .
If , if Bowser goes up in the air or Is shooting from long range , i can easily see that being the start of this fight , with Bowser taking the offensive and the colossal Titan kind of Assessing the situation .
Perthold is timid but he is smart and he is tactical , so I would think he's gonna start to see what Bowser can actually do before he tries to go on the offense .
I think that Bowser's biggest weakness is that he is not a strategic fighter . He is really like a let's just throw everything at the wall and see what sticks , kind of thing . Right , he's very predictable , he moves and set patterns that are easy for you to exploit .
And I think that And the other thing is that even this Bowser in especially , is like acting on instinct . He's referred to in the game as the beast . Even his son , bowser Jr , is enlisting the help of Mario to help like calm down His dad , who has like gone off to rails , like he's not even part of his normal Scheming Koopa self .
He's like completely lost control . So you know , i think It's gonna be easy , for if , if personal gets a a chance to assess the situation , it's gonna be easy for him to exploit Bowser's weaknesses , assuming the Bowser doesn't rip him to pieces with his the spines really quick .
I was gonna ask for a clarifying question . What is the size difference between these two characters ? Do we have a good understanding on who's clearly bigger ?
He's got . He's got some stats here . Looks like Bowser or birth hold is 60 meters , but fury Bowser is bigger at 77 meters .
Okay , Bowser is bigger and I will say , yeah , bowser's at 77 . Bert hold is 60 meters . Bert was super easy because of like I think like the second line in the show is like He's looking over a wall and what character says that wall's 50 meters tall .
He's like standing next to like a big measuring stick . You know like how much taller am I today ?
And then the third the third line of this show is like wow , he must be at least 2700 tons . They don't say that .
I will say the tonnage was incredibly hard to pin down for the colossal Titan . I came up with 2700 over doing some research and conjecture with the greater internet .
But one thing that they specifically mentioned and I Got to this part in the show they talk about how the Titans are extremely light , that despite their Incredible destructive power , that they're really light .
So while 2700 tons compared to 57,000 tons for fury Bowser might seem , i mean , like you're talking about , what is that like five percent , you know , of fury Bowser's body mass , it's . It is not a really good indicator of what the colossal Titan is capable of . I do want to point that .
The colossal Titan kick a hole in a giant wall , so it's not like it's not . I don't think we're going with boxing . It's not strict boxing rules where a higher weight classes have advantage . I think that colossal Titan is still packing Heat and the punches and the kicks . But I think I want to ask you guys about is this the steam ability Like ?
when I was researching it ? that just sounds so interesting And it was super effective against . You know , the , the , the human character is trying to zip line around The colossal Titan to kill it , but how is it effective against something bigger ?
Yeah , that's a good question . I was thinking about this because I think , because Bowser like shoots fire , right , he's obviously got some sort of fire resistance , but I don't see him being able to resist something as like scalding and you know So , so intense as the steam thing .
Right , considering how easily he gets like knocked around by Bat by Mario , i think this would be pretty effective as a defense mechanism now , one thing that should definitely be noted here is that there is a Weakness to this , so it's it's like it is extremely hot .
I mean , just a normal human body wouldn't last More than maybe a minute or so with before being basically burnt to a crisp if they were to stay Within that steam within that area . Now I don't know if the steam would necessarily stop an attack , but at close range can be very damaging .
The catch is that if the colossal continues to use it , it's decreasing its muscle mass , so it starts to get down to its skeleton . So there's only a certain amount of it that you can do . And the second catch is once the colossal is out of commission and pretty much steams out .
Burdhold is just a human and he cannot go back into being the colossal for quite some time . There is a cool down period . So there's definitely going to be a moment , a very pivotal moment in this match , where the colossal has to do something very , very , very , very badly At some point . Otherwise it's gonna be at the point of basically being incapacitated .
Okay the other point I wanted to I want to talk about was watching Bowser's Fury for context . I haven't played Bowser's Fury but I did watch all the footage and I saw Surrounding Bowser fury when you finally fight him . Is all this sludge Like ?
it's almost like , yeah , he's almost like excreting goop that slows you down as Mario , when you try to approach him . Are we putting that into this fight ? is Bowser Having just surrounded by this sludge ? because if that's the case , that's , that's a really big deal for Burdhold who needs to get close to do damage .
If he , if he's surrounded by sludge that slows him down , he does like a minute right , It's like any like well more like he converts the water it's around him into it right , so there's water falling and everything that I believe that it would play a role , but I don't see it being that big of an hindrance because all it really does is slow you down and
you sort of sink into it . Since the cult and since the , the , the Titan is so big . I feel like his would maybe affect his ability to walk if he's close in there , but not really like swing his arms or anything like that .
Okay , and just from a walking standpoint . I mean it should probably be mentioned that it's not a great location for the colossal Night City has a lot of buildings , a lot of different arch . You know architecture here That doesn't do well for Titan walking typically and he does walk , he's not jogging , he's not running in Bowser . So , Definitely note here .
So I think the thing that I want to talk about the most and I've kind of been , i've been stewing on this and it it's got to be the Titans regenerative abilities , presumably , i mean , i guess . I guess I'll throw it to you , eric , you know , do we , do we ever see the colossal Titan you know Regrow at the same rate that we do other Titans , or what ?
what do those capabilities look like ?
Yeah . So and that that's where it gets a little difficult , because the colossal has a lot of that body mass , so I would say it has . It can take a little bit more To , you know , to really get to that point of exhaustion or incapacitation . So it's gonna take a lot . It's got it's got that going for it . Regenerate , regenerative It's not .
It's not really something that that Titan , or a lot of the Titans , have the capability of doing . You will see characters who can turn into Titans , be able to regenerate body parts , for example . So if you were to have like Probably a famous one is is like a , like a arm bitten off and you're just swallowed .
How'd you get your ?
back . That does happen And it doesn't take very , very long , but that's more , i would say , outside of Titan form for the colossal . There hasn't been any history that I'm aware of where mid fight The colossal is able to regenerate .
And that is one of the drawbacks to that steam emission , because if it could regenerate I mean that he would just basically steam the entire time until the opponent submits . So he'd be pretty broken if he could regenerate so I do actually think on the weakness side That that not being an ability is gonna hinder him ? How ?
tough is like a tight . This Titans hide exactly right . What if ? if Bowser was to rip through him with like a claw or something , would he be able to resist that ? I've just I just not getting a good idea of like how , how tough he is obviously can punch through a wall . That's pretty tough .
Yeah , the colossal Titan . So this is where it's gonna get interesting . So , bowser , to your point , joey is not going to Tack , be tactical about where not at all Also probably not spoiled on attack on Titan , so it has no clue . There's a little man .
Even if he did , there's no guarantee who act on no guarantee .
Bowser is not the kind of person that like goes for a person's weaknesses .
He leaves wide open spaces for people to exploit . It's sort of his thing , not yeah , exactly .
No , that , uh , that that's obvious , right ? So , um , there , i would say the height is not , is not gonna stop like a spike or a nail , more so than like a sword from the ODM gear . So , if you've watched , you know you've watched the first six episodes J . You've watched the first season . You guys know if you've seen the iconic ODM gear .
They're slashing at the back of the neck , the nape of the Titans , and There is the ability in the fear and that's why the colossal will typically emit steam when someone gets close to his nape , because that ODM sword has the ability to to pierce the skin .
So I think I think that being a good comparison , i would think Bowser would have those same capabilities , if not more . I guess it would just depend on how sharp it is , but I think just had a sheer force in size . I feel like that's a pretty fair assessment .
Yeah , i think this all depends on whether or not birth hold is able to Anticipate Bowser's movements and get out of the way in time . Bowser telegraphs everything , right , you know what he's gonna do basically before he does it . But you have to have the speed to get out of the way in order to take advantage of that sort of thing .
And and he's also got , like hella range weapons right , he's got the . He's got the laser breath , which will be extracted by the buildings right in the class , will be able to hide behind it , but he's also got fireballs that you can kick . He's also launching Like pieces of earth into the air that will crash down Around them .
So if any of those things like falls on the Titan , it's gonna be a problem for him to deal with .
Okay , quick question How is the colossal Titan's ground pound ability When Bowser is on his back ? is Birt-Hull gonna be able to jump in the air , do a somersault and ground pound his stomach to ?
activate the wedge point . You know , I don't think , I think you misunderstood what I meant by walking is the only one You must have you must have misheard , i think .
I think there was a filler episode of Attack on Titan or an OVA of Birt-Hull , as the colossal Titan doing somersaults through the air . If I'm I think I might be I might have watched something different .
I'm gonna be honest , there was a moment of silence here where I think you guys wanted me to say that .
I think you guys wanted me to say something positive because I'm I'm gonna be honest with you .
I walked in here with an idea and it has just gone terribly wrong , because I keep looking at it and he really does need to have a somersault ability at this point , because when he gets an opening he's gonna maybe step on him , but he's not even like .
He's not even like bigger , like he doesn't even really have the size advantage and we talked about the weight not being exactly like as far as the tons , not being able to tell the full story . But it tells enough of the story where I don't think just like stomping on him would be enough . You know force .
Maybe like a , maybe like a double-handed , like , like you know , smash into the ground . You know That .
That could do it . That could do it , especially if you know . I would assume there's gonna be like a circle that tells him where to hit when Bowser's down .
So I think the the when he lands in his back is not gonna work very well for Berthold , because when Bowser lands he also sends out that shockwave which will like probably collapse a lot of the city And unless Berthold can jump rope I don't think he's gonna have much chance of dodging that .
I just I need to see the colossal Titan try to jump Dude no . It's like from this conversation . That's all I want to see .
Yeah , i would . I would just be happy , just like to see both feet off the ground , just like for for half a second . Just like I don't think it's possible , I almost feel like your skeletal frame would collapse .
There is , there is a chance here , which is Bowser . Does this spinning side move right ? He's sort of like like a rolling coin kind of kind of thing and one side is all spikes . You don't want to be in that side , but the other side is the soft underbelly , right .
So if Berthold can see that coming , step out to the side and then do one of his side smashes with both fists as he rolls by , that that could be pretty devastating . I think The other thing is those spikes that Bowser throws into the air can be picked up and thrown .
So , depending on Berthold's aim , he could probably knock Bowser out with a well-aimed spike .
I think that Berthold would have to really have the the intelligence aspect to make this really go his way .
So I think I think he's had a lot of disadvantages is kind of already the theme right And I think that having that human intelligence and just the intelligence in general from the combat experience and , you know , not being Bowser who loses to Mario every single time , i mean we're not talking about a warlord here .
So I think Berthold really could possibly to your point , joey make some tactical decisions to be able to use the environment to buy some time . I think that , more so than necessarily moving out of the way , i think he could possibly try to like obstruct his viewpoint . he could possibly try to leverage that . as you know , the environment is a weapon .
You know Eli wants to see him jump , but if he jumps it's not Night City anymore , it's just Night , there's no city , it's gone . So we may not want to see that happen because he's going to need the environment around him to really kind of leverage that .
And I would say the colossal throwing it while throwing stuff is not his Titan ability , which you'll see , jay , very soon . He can definitely make it work . He could definitely make that work in his favor .
You think the colossal Titan's smash ability ? he just falls down , he just yells Timber and just He just puts his elbow out and just lands with his elbow . Pats on the elbow and slowly falls down , if he falls .
He is not getting back up . He has any push-ups . I have fallen and I can't get up .
He's going to need life-flow because it's not bad .
He pulls out of his chest cavity the little ping , the little necklace and just calls for help because the armor Titan to come push him back up .
That's exactly what would happen .
So one thing that I want to talk about . I think that we've talked a lot about what Bowser can do to the colossal Titan . We've talked about the Titan's defensive abilities , his mobility . What does it take from the Titan to take down Bowser ? What does that look like ?
Because if this is Bowser just hacking away at the Titan , trying to find the weakness and eventually getting there , what does the Titan have to do offensively to get this done ?
Unfortunately That's not a good start . Avating would be a great start and that is not a strength . But that is where I think again , leveraging the buildings and leveraging some of the steam ability to keep Bowser at bay , i think it's probably going to be the best opportunity to assess those long to medium range attacks .
I think if you can avoid close combat , because that's while you want to get a punch and I mean the colossal has long arms , so the colossal can get a jab from across the ring , so to speak , so there's the opportunity for that . But I think anything closer than medium range definitely can be a sign of trouble .
There will be a lot of use of that steam again , using that muscle mass . That will only be able to really buy time . And I think , assessing Bowser's video game character abilities of jump once , dodge , jump twice , hit Again , there's going to be some type of combo And I think Birthold can absolutely determine that .
It's just a matter of how many hits can he take . And I think ultimately that's the theme of this fight , because I think he's going to take for each type of attack . The colossal Titan is going to take at least one to two hits before being able to adjust , and how many times can you do that ?
If three is the magic number , do we think the colossal Titan can take a couple hits , get a punch in new moveset ? take a couple hits , get a punch in and then do it one more time for the win ? I think that's the real conversation here and I am curious to see where we land on that .
I think there's a serious threat of forcible battlefield removal here , considering how light the Titan is and how massive Bowser is and how fast he moves . If he gets a good hit on Barthol before he can get out of the way , that guy's going flying Maybe through buildings over the water into the next county .
So I think there's a serious Bowser's packing , a serious punch . Doesn't do a lot to Mario , mario just gets a slightly smaller , but that's going to be a I'm not sure how many of those this smaller Titan , the smaller Kaiju , will be able to take from the serious mass that Bowser is packing .
Alright , last thing Colossal Titan with cat ears .
That's devastating . You see in the game that when the Plessy the dinosaur gets the cat . Things it becomes even bigger than its normal . It's a scale thing , right . You become bigger if you have the power-up than you were previously by a magnitude . Yes , if there were power-ups in this world , if he was to get the cat ears , I think that's curtains for Bowser .
No , my one weakness .
Why do I keep leaving these out ?
¶ Decision Time
So how we decide the winners here on Super Bracket Bros , each of us is going to give an out of 10 on who we think will win this fight . The out of 10 is just to represent our personal confidence in a given fighter to be able to win this fight .
Whoever receives the majority 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 4 of our total votes is going to be the fighter that moves on . The confidence does kick in if we do have a tie between the four of us . But , eli , do you have a decision in mind ?
You know , going in I haven't played Bowser's Fury , nor have I seen Attack on Titan . So this fight I was very interested in doing the research to compare both fighters . Just from the still images I thought it was going to be a closer fight because I had an idea in my mind of how these fighters would actually fight .
But on doing the research I see it's the complete opposite . I am just amazed at how fast Fury Browser is , but also the size at which he is compared to the Colossal Titan . I am kind of surprised at how slow the Colossal Titan is . The steam ability I didn't realize sapped him of his own power .
Yeah , like there was just so many things that came up of like man . This is kind of a wash Like I think I'm giving it to Fjord Bowser 8 out of 10 times . I'm almost nearing on 9 just because , like Fjord Bowser's bigger and moves faster and has more attack versatility . And we didn't even mention the water .
This takes place in Night City , which is , by the way , and we see in Fjord Bowser he's able to use the water to like hide in . So that's another advantage . I just burthal cute Hoover just doesn't have like anything that Bowser doesn't have in this fight .
If the Colossal Titan was faster and the Steam ability wasn't such a hindrance or didn't have such a like you know , a negative effect on his abilities , i think this would be a much closer fight . But he's just hamstrung by so many things where Bowser is kind of just wheeling and dealing without much anything holding him back really .
So yeah , for me this is 8 out of 10 for Bowser . I think the Colossal Titan gets a win , maybe with the Steam ability . He exudes everything and , like melts Bowser Some cheeky you know three punches to the stomach , defeats Bowser , but that's .
I'm being generous .
I think Bowser wins this fight .
Speedrunning uh Fury Bowser .
Yeah , there's no cat ears for the Colossal Titan , so I think that sealed his fate .
Joey , I have to agree with Eli 8 out of 10 times for Fury Bowser . Everything he said , plus the fact that Bowser's main attacks are bludgeoning and like piercing weapons right , Which is going to be devastating toward our Colossal Titan , who is weak against those things , I think the size advantage is probably the biggest thing that turns this fight .
For me , If the Colossal Titan was bigger , you know , slower but stronger , I would say that Bowser would end up on the side , upside down , you know , sinking into the goop licking his wounds . But that's not the case . So 8 out of 10 times for Bowser .
Eric , So I know you brought me on . Tak on Titan guy . I came in , really wanted and I came in with a mindset because listen , I started doing Fury Bowser research and I was like shit this is not good . And I know they're close in ranking . I think the opponent one is a detriment to .
I mean , you guys gave it a good effort to see what cracks in the armor can be done to Bowser and and what can the Colossal bring . I think it's just simply a bad matchup . It's a bad location . It's simply for the fact that my answer is an 8 out of 10 as well And it's for the reasons you guys mentioned .
But this could have easily been and I still think in any case Bowser would have won because it's a bad matchup .
But really , 6 out of 10 , 7 out of 10 , that could have happened if the location was different and we had the ability , some type of special ability , for the Colossal to transform a little bit And then just a lot of different things could have gone his way . But I mean again , steam and punches .
That's unfortunately what we've determined in this matchup And I got a painfully agree . It hurts me . The Colossal deserve to be on this roster And I think in another matchup would have really performed a lot better . But Fury Bowser , i think , just off a sheer strength alone and the abilities that he has , i think he's gonna take a few people out .
I don't know if he's gonna win the whole thing , but he's competitive . That was not expected , because when I did my research . I was scared coming into this .
So I'm in a similar mind And I feel like I'm actually gonna defend the Colossal Titan here a little bit , because I'm only going 7 out of times for Bowser .
I feel maybe it's because I'm ultra hyped for attack on Titan right now , maybe and I'll admit you know a possible bias here because , like , i'm in the midst of the show and really enjoying it But just like I feel like the like Bowser's going to attack with like a video game boss regularity and he's going up against a human .
I think the intelligence factor is something that is important here . Like I think that Bowser , yeah , can probably just pick up the Titan and chuck him , but why would he do that ? You know , like what's to say that like he is smart enough to like think about that .
You know , i just don't trust Bowser as a video game boss , you know , with predictable patterns . But at the end of the day , i still am going Bowser because , like he does have all the powers from what I can tell , you know , he's also a video game boss in the fact that he's not limited by video game hero cooldowns and things like that either . You know .
So , like there is that aspect to consider And yeah , i think that Bert Holt is just he's just too damn slow , like , at the end of the day , like I really think that is the number one hindrance in this fight .
If they were the same speed , i would probably go with the colossal Titan , you know , like I think , if they , if they were at a similar , you know , mock , you know I think I would go with the colossal Titan .
But yeah , along with being , you know , along with incredible durability in a very specific weak spot , he's just eventually Bowser's going to rip his head off and see the little guy poking out . So what do you think he's going to do when he sees a little guy poking out ?
He's going to kill that guy .
So Bowser's , bowser's , he's angry , he's angry With that that is going to be Fury Bowser moving on in the tournament to face the winner of next week's matchup , where we are talking Godzilla versus the Power Rangers . So you're not going to want to miss next week's matchup . That's our number one versus 16 .
So you're going to be able to find out who Fury Bowser is taking on . But , thank you guys , both Joey and Eric , i both , i appreciate both of your time so much for coming on and giving it , giving you your best . go for one of you .
I appreciate the effort .
You have to say which one .
No , we know .
It started off that way , don't worry , it's fine .
I got a win . That's all that matters . That's all that matters to me .
But yeah , no , thank you both for coming on , and I want to give our audience a chance to know where to find you out on the internet , so they can go and find what you're up to . Joey , why don't you tell us where people could find Aphible Chat ?
Yes , aphible Chat , like Jay mentioned in the top of the episode , we're a weekly movie podcast . We talk about all sorts of different things . Recently we introduced a new series called Creator Spotlight , So we had the lovely voice actor Matthew Elkins on from anime series you may know called Blue Lock .
We're really excited to do stuff like that . You guys obviously have heard we've been in the convention scene . Bold Matt Suri , as Phil mentioned on the last episode , is going to be here in June . We just did a promo shoot which we're excited to be released for them .
We also are going to be hosting panels at the event and having a panel of our own , which is really exciting , And on the show we have a lot of different series that you can get into . So obviously things like Up High , Down Low , where we rank things , Late to the party . We're doing Indiana Jones this month . We have never seen the Indiana Jones films .
So we're watching them . Are you going to ?
see the new one . Are you going to see the new one ? We're deciding on that episode . If we're going to see , Dial of Destiny . You're not going to want to ? I don't think so . The first one was interesting . Let's just say that it is an interesting series , but we're excited to get into it .
And then , of course , we do a bunch of bonus stuff like reviews and different things on TikTok , where we're posting daily now . So that's a whole journey , despite Phil's hesitancy . So we have a lot of great things to look forward to and we'd appreciate you , you know , jumping on board And if not , again you're dead to me . So that's .
Eric , you could only threaten my audience once per episode .
It's like you can't , it's just a double doubt . You got me in a bad mood to start , and then I had to tear my boy , my boy band hold down Like the .
Titans aren't shit .
They're so good Each time each time Jay asked a question and I said well , the colossal can't do that . I can tell Jay was getting so pissed He's like what did I even bring you on here for ?
I felt so bad .
I had high hopes for the colossal .
I'm not going to lie . I'm not going to lie .
So can you regenerate .
No Okay , can you hop ? No Okay , thanks a lot .
I just kicked you off at some point , just made up my own attack on Titan head . Don't ask me any more questions .
Joey said the stage I told you , jay .
There is an OVA of the Titan summer salting in air .
You should have done with that . Trust the expert who hasn't seen the show .
Thank you both for coming on . I really appreciate your insights and expertise on the characters today . I genuinely do appreciate it . But if you are listening to this and you're looking to catch up with Super Bracket Bros , there's a couple of ways you can do that . We are on Instagram and Facebook .
Those are our primary social medias where you can find us at Super Bracket Bros . At the pinposts at the top of both of those pages you can find the schedule so you can know when all the matches are coming out . It's a great way to keep up with the show and know what's coming up next .
If you're looking to support the show a little bit further , reviews go a long way on Apple Podcasts and Spotify . If you're unaware of the mobile app , you can go in and rate shows on a 5-star scale . You don't even have to write anything , you just have to go in there and hit 5 stars , and we would be eternally grateful .
If you're looking to go a step further , we do have a Patreon , the Patreon , where we feature monthly bonus episodes of exclusive content , such as we've remixed all of Season 1 , our current patrons , andrew , emily , the Wait For It podcast , matthew Bliss and Kyle So all of them are currently supporting the show , helping pay the bills over here and keeping the
lights on here at Super Bracket Bros . Last shout out of the day goes to Nick Heredia , an DH artist on Instagram , for creating our brand new theme song for Season 5 of Super .
Bracket Bros . Oh really , i just knew that was awesome .
Yeah , so he made our theme song and , yeah , it's a blast , it's awesome . I'm super happy with it . So , yeah , hopefully you are a fan too .
So if you're a creative person , you need a little bit of personalized music , not music that you are going to see in a random YouTube ad every once in a while , which is driving me absolutely nuts about our old theme song . You know you can get something unique and personalized to you , but that is going to do it for us today on Super Bracket Bros .
Eli , do you have anything else for the people ?
I'm going to look for that tack on Titan OVA .
He's still stuck and do it . Rekhaan , Rekhaan , you can meet the Somersault .
There's a beach episode . He does a Somersault off of a pier . I swear to God .
On behalf of myself , my co-host Eli and our amazing guest today , eric and Joey , remember no true hero is a one trick pony .
