Episode description

Severe weather warnings are in place across 1100 kilometres of Queensland, from Hewenden to the Sunshine Coast, with forecasts predicting up to 250 millimetres of rainfall within two days. Emergency alerts have been issued for multiple areas including Sapphire, where residents are being told to prepare to evacuate due to rising floodwaters in Retreat Creek. Multiple swift-water rescues have been conducted, including 33 backpackers trapped in floodwaters at Miriam Vale and several people rescued from vehicles and campgrounds across affected regions.
