Episode description

New South Wales beaches are preparing to reopen for the Australia Day long weekend following four shark attacks within 48 hours. Northern beaches including Manly remain temporarily closed while councils assess each beach individually in consultation with lifeguards and water clarity experts. Extra safety resources including lifeguards, jet ski patrols and aerial surveillance will be deployed, with several ocean swims cancelled out of respect for 12-year-old shark attack victim Nico Antek.
