Child care centres face mandatory safety training

Child care centres across Australia will be required to close early for five days annually to conduct mandatory child safety training for staff. The new measures respond to a 52 per cent increase in complaints about behaviour and abuse at child care centres last year. Additional regulations include installing CCTV cameras in centres and implementing tighter vetting processes to address systemic issues in the industry.
