now, it's time for the Surf Report. Friday in Encinitas and North County. It's looking fair this morning with waist -high sets rolling in. Waves hold around 2 to 3 plus feet throughout the morning, providing decent conditions. However, expect the winds to remain sideshore at 6 to 9 mile per hour, creating some chop as the day progresses. Keep an eye on the conditions as they may shift later. Best time to ride is at 6 p .m. with a 5 -foot high tide, when the west
swell is 3 feet at 9 seconds. and the onshore wind is 8 mph. The first low tide Friday will be 1 1⁄2 foot at 11 a .m., with a 5 1⁄2 foot high tide at 545. The nearshore buoy at Beacons reads 71 degrees for the water temperature. Saturday through Monday presents varied surf conditions. Saturday features choppy 3 to 5 feet waves with strong south -southeast. Winds at 13 to 15 mile per hour, making it less appealing. Sunday improves with fair 2 to 4 feet waves and lighter winds,
ideal for longboarding in the morning. Monday returns to choppy 2 feet surf, but light winds create brief, clean moments in the evening for a mellow session. This morning, there's patchy fog, and it feels like 64 degrees, with 8 mile per hour wind. The sunset will take place at Ego 3, and it will rise again tomorrow at 541. It looks like we're in for some patchy fog early, lifting by mid -morning, with partly sunny skies and a high near 66, accompanied by a light southwest
breeze. Tonight, expect mostly cloudy conditions with patchy fog returning and a low around 62, along with gentle winds. Looking ahead in the weather. Border Patrol agents have uncovered a sophisticated drug -smuggling tunnel extending over 1 ,000 feet from Tijuana, Mexico, into the Otey Mesa
area. Discovered in early April, the tunnel was still under construction and featured electrical wiring, lighting, a ventilation system, and a track system for transporting narcotics. Its full length measured 2 ,918 feet, reaching a depth of about 50. Border Patrol, in collaboration with Homeland Security Investigations and Mexican authorities, confirmed the tunnel's origin. The tunnel will be filled with concrete to prevent
future use. Now on to sports. In a thrilling twist, the Indiana Pacers triumphed over the Oklahoma City Thunder, winning Game 6 of the NBA Finals, 108 -91, and forcing the first Game 7 since 2016.
