And now, it's time for the Surf Report. Friday in Encinitas and North County. It's looking fair this morning with waist -high sets rolling in. Waves hold around 2 to 3 feet throughout the morning, providing decent conditions. Expect the winds to remain sideshore at 5 mph, keeping
things relatively smooth for now. As the day progresses, conditions may become choppy with winds shifting to onshore around 10 mph. Best time to ride is at 6 a .m. with a zero -foot incoming low tide when the west swell is three feet at eight seconds and the side -shore wind is four mile per hour. The first high tide Friday will be three and a half foot at 1115 a .m. with a two and a half foot low tide at 345. The near -shore buoy at Beacons reads 70 degrees for the
water temperature. Saturday through Monday features waist -to -chest -high south -southwest ground swell, beginning with clean conditions in the mornings and transitioning to fair afternoons. Light winds under 5 mph prevail early, while breezy conditions arise later, leading to choppy surf by afternoon. Expect occasional chest -high sets on Monday morning before conditions become bumpy, making for a mixed bag of surf over the
three days. This morning, it's cloudy and it feels like 67 degrees with 8 mile per hour wind. The sunset will take place at 8 .02 and it will rise again tomorrow at 5 .50. It looks like we're in for a partly sunny Friday with temperatures reaching around 69 and a light south wind. Tonight, we'll see mostly cloudy skies with a low of 64 and calm winds continuing. In local news, all California Highway Patrol officers will soon be equipped with body -worn cameras as public demand for accountability in law enforcement grows. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department has utilized these devices since 2017. Although not mandated by state law, many agencies have
embraced this technology. As of July 1st, the California Highway Patrol has deployed approximately 2 ,400 cameras to its officers in major regions. Tasha Williamson, a community activist, emphasized that these cameras will help determine innocence and guilt. Officers in San Diego County are expected to receive their cameras and training in November of this year. Now on to sports.
