Summary
This installment of Orson Welles's "Les Miserables" explores Jean Valjean's profound moral dilemma as his new life as the respected Mayor Madeleine is jeopardized by Inspector Javert's mistaken arrest of another man. Valjean faces an agonizing choice: preserve his identity or sacrifice his freedom to save an innocent. His dramatic confession in court leads to his re-arrest and, tragically, the death of Fantine, who was desperately awaiting her daughter Cosette.Episode description
