Coach Patton is a native of Gwinnett County where he played high school ball and graduated from Grayson High School. He went on to college to become a teacher and coach due to the influence of Georgia High School legend and his coach Mickey Conn. Coach Patton began his career at Grayson and made his way from there. Coach Roberts is coach's kid that played high school ball at Deland high school in Florida. He went on to play collegiately at Valdosta State where he was a member of the 2012 National Championship team. After college, Justin went into coaching and spent 12 years at University High School as QB coach, OC, and eventually the HFC. Coach Poag is a native of Dalton Georgia where he played for the late legendary Bill Chappell. Preston excelled at both football and baseball and was blessed enough to play at NC State on both the football and baseball teams. Coach Poag has coached at the college level as an assistant and coordinator before being a HFC at Christian Heritage and now North Murray. Coach Gates is a graduate of McEachern High School where he played for the legendary Jimmy Dorsey and Coach Jeff Herron. After high school, Steve went on to play offensive line at the University of Georgia. Coach Gates didn't get into education right away, opting instead to enter the business world. Once he got in, he set his sights on being a HFC and after 10 years of working his way up he has taken over at Cass and turned that program into a perennial playoff team. Coach Johnson is a native of Forsyth GA where he played football and ran track at Mary Persons High School. He went on to graduate from Valdosta State and get into teaching at coaching from the ground up. He served as a video tech guy at VSU, a middle school, coach and worked his way up to being a HFC. Coach Groshek is a native of Wisconsin that has spent his entire teaching and coaching career in Gwinnett County. He has been a 9th grade position coach, Head 9th grade coach and worked his way up to be the HFC at Discovery. Coach Groshek is also the throwing coach for the track and field program. Coach Pettus is originally from Paulding County where he played football, basketball, and ran track. He then went on to Millikin University to play football and later coached there as well. Coach Slaney is a native of Tyrone Ga where he attended the Heritage School for High School. I multi-sport athlete in high school, Coach Slaney went on to get a degree at Georgia Tech. After college, Zach started his coaching career at his alma mater helping at the middle school level and worked his way up from there. Cody is a native of Kennesaw where he attended high school and later went on to college. He then got into coaching while finishing his degree and hasn't looked back. He went on to play college ball at Ga Southern for the legendary Erk Russell and then professionally in the USFL, NFL, and NFL Europe. Coach Holley is a coach's kid. He grew up with a father that was a football coach and naturally, followed in his footsteps. Adam played and graduated from Starr's Mill High School and then went on to play QB at West Georgia. He has been an OC, QB and WR coach and now the HFC at Cherokee HS in Canton GA. Coach Dubuc is a native of Ft. Lauderdale where he graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School in 1992. Coach has won multiple state championships as the HFC after playing collegiately at Texas Tech and professionally in the Canadian Football League. Coach Campbell is the winningest coach in the history of the state of Georgia. He won 477 games and 11 state titles all at Lincoln County where he served as the HFC for 42 years. He had one losing season, his first, and then had 41 consecutive winning season. He now enjoys his cows and horses and traveling with his family. Coach Campbell is more than just a great football coach, he is a great man as well. I hope you enjoy Coach Larry Campbell!
Coach Armstrong has had a long and illustrious career as both and assistant and HFC in multiple states including Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. He has literally done it all. Coach Ed Dudley is a legend. He played for a legend in high school (George Maloof), started his coaching career for a legend (Billy Henderson Clark Central), and has become a legend himself. He worked for some legends as well. He has had a long and winding career as an assistant and a head coach. Coach McWhorter is a native of Effingham Illinois where he played his high school ball at Effingham High School. He went on to play college ball at Eastern Illinois. From there, Coach McWhorter got his first coaching job as an assistant at Charlton County. Three years later he was named the HFC there and the rest is history! The man is a legend. Coach Kenny Moore is a native of Valdosta Georgia. He graduated from Valdosta High School where he played for the legendary Wright Bazemore in high school. Coach knew he wanted to be a coach from an early age and went on to graduate from Valdosta State. Dexter Wood personifies the word LEGEND in the state of Georgia annals of high school football. The architect of Buford football, Coach Wood started his career in Alabama. He won 3 state titles back to back to back going on a 45-0 tear at Buford and 210 games total with a 79.9% winning percentage overall. Coach Strickland is a winner. Period. A native of Clinch County, Strick cites coaches Don Tison and Cecil Barber (2 legends) as being the most influential in his desire to enter this profession. Coach Soliday is one of the last of the hard. He is originally from West Virginia where he played high school football, basketball, and ran track. He played college football as well. He started his career as a GA, coached for 4 years at his alma mater and headed south to interview and stopped in Turner County. Coach King is a younger LEGEND. He is a native of Cedartown where he played three sports in high school. He went on to play QB at Carson Newman collegiately before starting his high school career. Coach Gillespie has done a lot at many levels. A native of NE GA, Coach Gillespie graduated from Rabun County High School and walked on at the University of Georgia. After college, he went on to be an assistant for some of the legends of the game like George Bobo, Charles Winslette, and Rodney Walker before striking out on his own. Coach Barden is one of the finest men in the business. A native of Habersham County, Frank played his college ball at West Georgia and started his coaching career with the legendary Coach Rodney Walker. Coach Barden has gone on to be one of the winningest coaches in Georgia High School football playing for state titles five times and winning the 1999 title at Cartersville.
