On the 26th of May 1990 a number of calls came in to 3AW’s late night lonely hearts program called Matchmakers. One seemingly eligible bachelor received several interested parties and potential matches: 


“G’Day. I’m Rodney from Castlemaine. I’m 35, a Gemini, and a Marine Biologist. I enjoy basketball and squash. I’m a non-smoker and not a big drinker. I’m just looking for someone to share in my happiness and a quiet life. I like to keep things clean, but otherwise, I have no major hang ups…”
