On today's episode , we are continuing on from last week's episode and we're back focusing on email marketing , and what I'm going to do is I'm going to share another example of a email that performed really well for us in BusterBox , and I'm going to break down why it performed well so you can take that information and hopefully apply it to your own business and

have a lot of success . You can also just copy this email if you want , but obviously repurpose it for your own niche , and I'm doing this because we're in October and this is the time of year you should be focusing 100% on selling , on new customer acquisition , on selling other products , growing your business and making as much money as possible .

This is the time of year to do it , and I want to help you achieve that any way that I can . Okay , let me explain what's been going on in BusterBox . So I'm recording this on a Saturday and yesterday was obviously a Friday . Now we're coming up to the halfway point in October , and October has been really good for us so far in BusterBox .

We've got a lot of new people signed up . We're selling loads of other products through Add to Box and things are going pretty well and we had a really strong September as well . So I'm looking to scale things up now . I've increased the ad budget and I want to get as many people signed up as possible .

I woke up yesterday morning and the first thing I noticed was nobody had signed up to buster box during the night . I was like , oh , that's kind of strange , and normally each morning when I look , you'll get a few people during the night .

Sometimes you actually get a lot of people signed up during the night and that's great because it gives you a really good platform to build on then for the rest of the day . If you're starting work and you've already like 15 people signed up , it just makes things a lot easier . But anyway , yesterday we had nobody signed up , so that's really strange .

I checked again after an hour and we had a couple of people . In another hour I think we had another person in . Anyway , I won't bore you . By the time we got to two o'clock in the afternoon , we had spent a thousand euro on ads and we were in the hole .

To be honest with you , we only had a handful of people in and the customer acquisition cost was absolutely through the roof . Now , this was very strange because all these ads had been working well for a long time and it's not normally like that .

Like I have a lot of different campaigns going and maybe you might have like a couple bad ones every now and again and you can turn them off or you can write it out during the day and see if it gets better . But this was like literally everything was just terrible . The cpa on some of them was like 200 euro absolute rubbish .

It looked as if there was something wrong with facebook . So I decided at two o'clock I'm turning everything off . I'm not spending any more money , I'm just going to turn everything off and I'll set up a new campaign the next day because obviously something strange is going on here . So I turned everything off . Cpa was obviously still through the roof .

But I decided to write a email . I'm going to go through this email now , because this exact email turned a very bad day into a very good day , because this email got 92 people signed up . Okay , let's go through it . So the subject line is in capital letters Max is getting a free box . Now this is obviously the dog's name .

So immediately it's a very personal subject line Capital letters congrats , your dog is getting a free box . You're opening the email to figure out what's going on here , so high open rate . Then we jump in . Hey , there , I'm cutting straight to the chase .

Tonight we want you and your dog to join BusterBox and we're giving you your first box for free to ethically bribe you to join . I know for a fact that both of you will love it , and here's why . Why you'll love it . Number one saves you time and money compared to shopping at the pet store . Number two the best quality toys and treats on the market .

Number three 24 or 7 free access to a video fest , giving you peace of mind . Number four it's really fun having the box arrive every month . Cool teams make it exciting and fun . Number five it feels really good spoiling your dog . Why your dog will love it . Number one your dog will go crazy when the box arrives .

Number two the healthy treats are always delicious . Number three the toys will give them hours of entertainment . Number four the whole experience will make them very happy and that's all that matters . As you can see , it's a fantastic idea to join BusterBox .

The subject line , like I said , very personal . It says your dog is getting a free box . You're going to open the email . Then I jump in . I'm cutting straight to the chase tonight . We want you and your dog to join buster box .

I make it very clear and then , in capital letters , this whole sentence is in capital letters and we are giving you your first box for free to ethically bribe you to join . It's a no-brainer offer . We're giving the first box for free Now . Just to make this clear , right ? We're not just giving boxes away for free . We're not doing anything like that .

It is free , but they have to pay shipping for the first box and it's only on our six and 12-month plans . We've ran this offer for a long time . At certain points we know what our lifetime value is . We know it's profitable for us . There's a whole strategy behind this .

We're not just giving boxes away for free and not taking credit card info or something like that . But yeah , it's a no-brainer offer . I know for a fact that both of you will love it and here's why so I split this up , why you'll love it and here's why so I split this up why you'll love it saves you time and money compared to shopping at the pet store .

Imagine you had a kid's box . Well , in that case , the parent is obviously going to be buying the box , but the kid is going to be using it .

So you should definitely test something like this in your marketing messenger , similar to what I did here why you'll love it and you'll break down why the parent will love it and then , underneath it , why the kid will love it , and then you break down why the kid would love it .

If you're selling a cat box , try why you'll love it , why your cat will love it .

So in any situation where the person buying it is not the end user , you should test appealing to their self-interests as well and break down logically why they'll love the subscription box and break down logically why the end user will love the subscription box , so the cat or the kid or the dog or whoever it's being bought for . So definitely test that , okay .

So under any that , obviously there's the collage , the happy dogs . People can see what they're going to get , and then we jump in here . But we're making it even better . Then we have the call to action . We promise this will make your dog very happy . We lean into the emotional angle again and then we sign off with some social proof . We've explained why they love it . We explained why the dog will love it . We sign off with social proof . There's thousands of people who are happily getting this product every month . There's no reason why somebody wouldn't sign up when they get to the end of this email , and that's why it converted so well .

Now I would highly recommend trying something similar in your business . Test one of these emails . You can take inspiration from what I've just covered and apply the lessons so they're relevant to your own business . Now I'll tell you something funny as well .

It's now 3 o'clock on a Saturday and we re-sent the exact same email at 12 o'clock to all of the people who never opened it last night . And we now have another 44 people who have signed up from this email . So in total , in less than 24 hours , this email has signed up Let me work it out 136 people , and there's still more people coming in .
