So a question came in during the week and I picked it out because it's something people kind of struggle with . I know it's something we struggled with at the start and I think it's a good time to answer it , especially with Q4 coming up , because if you do this , it will greatly improve your chances of getting a lot more people signed up .

So here is the question , simple question how many sales emails should I send every week ? Very good question , and this is something that a lot of people make assumptions over and they invent things in their head around . And listen , we were the exact same . Let me explain to you how we used to approach sales emails .

We used to only send like one sales email every few weeks . I believe that was literally it . Every few weeks , we'd send a sales email , it would go out , people would sign up and then we wouldn't send another sales email for a few weeks . Now , the reason why we did this was we created a scenario in our heads where this was the correct thing to do .

We thought that it would be wrong to send more sales emails . We would look desperate if we'd send any more sales emails . We would annoy people and we were just happy sending one every few weeks .

Now this probably cost us a ridiculous amount of money , because we actually invented these reasons completely in our head , because sending one sales email every few weeks simply wasn't enough . People are busy and they're not really counting how many times a company is sending sales emails .

They're not sitting around and they're like well , this company had sent three sales emails this week , this other company had sent five sales emails this week . It doesn't really work like that . People's inboxes are getting blasted from all different companies at all times of the day .

If you're only sending one sales email every few weeks , there's going to be people on your list who want to sign up to your box , but they miss that email . They may be in work , they may not be on the computer . More emails come in during the night . Your email gets buried down the inbox and they miss it .

For us , these days , we send a lot more emails , right , and I'll tell you exactly how we do it . We send an email on Monday , wednesday and Friday and we do a resend on Tuesday , thursday and Saturday to the people who never opened the previous email from the day before . The only day that we don't send sales email is Sunday . That's literally it .

Okay , and because of this , email is now one of our most effective channels . Now we have new leads sewinging up all the time . We're always collecting new leads and this is why this process works so well . We always have new people joining the list .

You have to have your lead flow under control if you want email to be a dominant channel for your business , so you have to be collecting new leads all the time . If you try to implement the schedule that I just mentioned into your business and you and collecting fresh leads , you have the same leads sitting there for months .

Yeah , you're going to burn out those leads and it's going to become very ineffective after a while .

But if you have your lead flow under control and you're consistently generating new leads and then you're sending out multiple sales emails you've different offers , the emails are actually good and people want to read them you're going to do very well with email marketing . Now , email marketing , in my opinion , is all about volume .

Right , like I just mentioned , you have to be collecting fresh leads all the time . That's what's going to make it effective , because there's so many different things going on with email at the minute .

There's different spam boxes from Gmail , there's different promotions tabs all this stuff is going on and to beat that , in my opinion it's a volume game you have to have your leads flow under control . If you have it under control and you're sending emails pretty regularly and following up with people .

You're going to do very well through email marketing Because you have to think about it right . When people come across your ads , not everybody is going to be ready to buy immediately .

Yeah , sure , some people will respond to your ads and sign up straight away , but for a lot of consumers , you need to follow up with them Because they need multiple reminders to actually sign up to your box .

The first time they saw your ad , it may not have been convenient to sign up , they may have been on the bus on the way to work , or they may not have had their credit card with them , or they may be waiting to get paid . But they're still interested in signing up to your box and you'll get them to sign up by following up with them through email .

I heard something recently . I was watching something . I believe it was Frank Curran and people were asking him why do you send so many emails ? Do you not feel bad that you send so many emails ? And he really does send a lot of sales emails , but they're great emails . I always enjoy reading them . You can definitely learn a lot from them .

And his answer was listen , it's not like we're sending , or it's not like I'm sending bags of cement to people's houses . At the end of the day , it's an email . That's literally it . If people are interested , they're going to boy , and if they're not interested and they're not happy , they can just leave the list .

I'm paraphrasing now , but that was pretty much the gist of it and I agree with him completely . And the point is even more true around this time of year because around Q4 and Black Friday , companies go crazy around sending emails . They send so many different emails because it works .

Usually you grab more attention and you're going to get more sales If the offers are good enough , you're not sending garbage emails like just repeating the same email over and over again , and you have your lead flow under control .

If you have all of those things and you send frequent sales emails , you're probably going to see better results than if you sent less . And around this time of year anyway , if you're not sending that many emails , there's a high probability your stuff is going to get buried in people's inboxes from the companies that are sending more emails .

It's a very simple way of looking at it , but I believe it's true . Never be timid in your marketing . Always go all out to grab attention and make those sales . Hope that makes sense . I explained what we do in Busterbox . You can take some inspiration from this .

You can apply this to your business or don't do exactly what we're doing , but just test increasing your sales emails . If you're sending one once a month , try four times a month and see how it works for you and if it works better we'll then increase it again and just keep testing to find the point which works for you and your company .

Hope that makes sense . We will be back next week at the exact same time . If you have a question you want answered on the show , then head over to subscriptionboxresourcescom , join the free Facebook group and post it there . Thanks very much for listening and I'll see you next week .
