June 8th marks World Oceans Day. In China, coral reef protection is the focus of this year's event. And awareness is being raised over their importance for many marine species. Professor Li Xiubao from the College of Marine Sciences of Hainan University uses volcanic rocks to stabilize the fragmented coral reefs, which has earned a national invention patent.
