¶ The "Perfect" Childhood and Rebecca's Arrival
Some people call me the luckiest girl in my small town in Colorado. I was the only child to my successful parents, who never wanted me to know what they did for a living. Once, when I was around six, I snuck into Dad's office. Dad! What are you doing?

And I'm going to the library. I felt so awkward around everyone in the house because in my head I knew they were strangers. And as I passed my mom, she suddenly held my hand and I froze. But every time I looked back, there was no one. Until I noticed our gardener standing next to a dustbin acting like a stream.
