Jesus was Jewish. The disciples were all Jewish. The early church was Jewish (at least until around 70 AD). These facts are obvious but often overlooked when considering the practice of church . #83. LK10 Roots: John Piper is wrong about coffee

The idea for house church didn't start with Jesus and the early church. It goes back to at least 586 BC. And, the main spiritual gathering in Jewish homes happened at the dinner table around a meal.
