Welcome to the Stop Drinking podcast , where we help you make stopping drinking a simple , logical and easy decision . There are thousands of people that will watch this video and they will not like what I've got to say today . And don't worry , I'm not here to start giving you scare tactics and start making you fear not drinking alcohol . That is the last thing that I want to happen for you . I don't want you to be afraid of this , but I want you to be realistic .

I want you to know what's going to happen when you stop drinking alcohol . So you're prepared . But for me to do that and be honest with you , I have to be real . I have to be 100% transparent and give you the raw truth . Listen , we live in a soft world and everything seems to be sugarcoated these days . You can't say this .

You can't say that you're going to get cancelled for this . You're going to get cancelled for that Today in this video . I don't care , you can cancel me whatever . And whilst a lot of people might be upset with this video . It might even save somebody's life . So for that reason I'm breaking it down .

So when you stop drinking alcohol , what is going to happen is you're going to have this tremendous contrast , and what I mean by this is that when we drink alcohol , we are often tired , we're often lethargic , we're often grumpy , we're often a little bit overweight .

A lot of bad things start happening in our life and that's usually what spurs somebody into not drinking alcohol . They see that there are tremendous negatives to drinking and they decide enough is enough . People don't really question their drinking pattern if nothing bad's happening . We usually want to stop drinking when we're in a bad place .

So then what happens is somebody says right , I'm done , I'm cutting this off . And then what happens is the next two , three , four , five days can be a little bit challenging . They might get some flu-like symptoms , the energy might fluctuate , but then , once that initial period has worn off , there is a tremendous contrast . It's like oh , I feel good again .

Oh , I can clearly think again , I can get out of bed and bounce with energy . What ends up happening is that we remember how bad things were , because it was only a couple of weeks ago that we were feeling terrible , and now the alcohol's gone . Of course we're going to feel better because we're no longer poisoning ourselves .

We're no longer drinking something that's destroying every cell in our body . Of course you're going to feel good when you remove alcohol , but one thing that doesn't often get spoken about is how this honeymoon period can disappear . Listen , I remember when I stopped drinking alcohol .

I was in such a bad place when I stopped drinking alcohol that when I actually made the decision to stop drinking alcohol , I felt like a million dollars . The confidence came back . The self-belief came back . I actually quit my job and launched a personal training business .

I went back into entrepreneurship , booked a one-way flight to Thailand , moved to Thailand , started learning how to build an online business , ended up building an online business . Loads of great things were happening when I stopped drinking . However , that initial point of contrast where I felt incredible didn't last forever .

It only lasted for a few weeks and then , before you knew it , it was just the norm . The way that I felt was the norm , and it was because time was passing . I started forgetting how bad I actually felt .

Now , in the past , what would happen is that the longer I went without drinking alcohol , the more I'd forget how bad it was and then , as time passed , the more and more I'd want to drink . Then , eventually , what would end up happening is the day where I'd just be like , do you know what ? Screw it , it's not that bad after all , is it ?

And I'd go back to square one . But when I stopped drinking five years ago , after that initial period wore off , I did something completely different . Because you want to know what you can expect after stopping drinking alcohol . And this is going to be controversial and , like I said , this might upset a lot of you , but you can expect nothing .

There is no benefit to stopping drinking and I know that sounds a little bit strange , but when you don't drink alcohol , only negative things happen . Nothing good ever comes from drinking alcohol .

So when we stop drinking alcohol , we talk about having more energy , losing weight , all of these good things happening , but that only happens because we remove the negatives of alcohol . Nothing good actually happens when we don't drink . That's how we're supposed to be . That's our normal state of mind . We're supposed to have a lot of energy .

We're supposed to be in good shape . We're supposed to be happy . We're not supposed to poison ourselves . So all that happens is you go to a baseline , but because your baseline has been so low for such a long time that when we stop drinking alcohol , we can feel fantastic . But after that period happens , you can expect nothing . Nothing else will happen .

And listen , it's all gonna make sense in a second .

But the thing that I'm gonna say to you next doesn't just have the power to transform your relationship with alcohol forever and put this behind of you for the best of your life , but this is gonna help you create such a better future for yourself and for your family , because it's not stopping drinking that's important .

That is literally the first step is what you do after stopping drinking . That makes all of the difference . The act of not drinking alcohol doesn't improve your life . You just remove the negatives .

But here's the difference If you have a vision for your life , if you're able to go to the future and see your ideal life , how you want your home to look , how you want your business to look , what you want your team to look like , how do you want your health to look , how do you want all of these things to look 10 , 15 , 20 years into the future , when

you start getting clarity on that , when you start developing a vision for your life , when you start having clarity on who you wanna become and you start aligning with this best version of yourself , that is when stopping drinking becomes miraculous . That's when amazing things start happening .

Because what starts happening is , rather than living on this rollercoaster life of being a drinker , of making a bit of progress , falling backwards , you can be consistent , you can work towards your dream all of the time . You can keep taking one step after the other , after the other , after the other , but that takes work .

What is the point of stopping drinking alcohol Just for the sake of stopping drinking ? Sure , I mean , don't get me wrong , right ? Don't take the wrong end of the stick with this video . It's a damn sight better than drinking .

But for me , I wanted to stop drinking alcohol because I wanted a better life , I wanted more , I wanted to provide for my family , I wanted to be a better inspiration and a better role model for the people around me . I didn't wanna be somebody that just drown their sorrows every time that they wanted to drink .

So when I stopped drinking alcohol , I really started working with coaches that were focused on this aspect of life . It was all focused on developing a vision . But without a vision . Without a goal , without a dream , what's the point ?

You need to develop a vision and you need to start asking yourself who's the kind of person that would have that vision , that would have that dream life ? Because once you get clarity on that , I'm telling you it's game over . Instead of making stopping drinking the focus of your life , we should make this the focus of our lives instead .
