Welcome to the Stop Drinking Podcast , where we help you make stopping drinking a simple , logical and easy decision . 2025 is on our doorsteps and New Year's Eve is right around the corner . And if you don't want to drink alcohol this New Year's Eve , I'm going to explain exactly how you can do it and what you should do instead . And I just want to say one thing this video it might come across as cocky or arrogant .

I don't want it to come across that way , so I apologize in advance if it comes off in a weird way , but I'm just going to be 100% real and transparent with you and tell you what you should do instead of drinking alcohol on New Year's Eve and show you a different mindset , because you're not going to hear this anywhere else .

I'm not going to tell you to go out and drink a sparkling water or some generic , stupid advice . No , I'm going to give you a different mindset . What we're going to do instead is reframe the entire situation , but that might upset a lot of people , so just bear with me . But on New Year's Eve this year I won't do anything .

You're thinking , oh , that's boring , whatever . Listen , just wait . But most people on New Year are all about New Year , new me . Tonight's the night where I'm going to maybe have some drinks , let loose , and then tomorrow my whole new life starts . I'm going to be fit and healthy and New Year's resolutions , and I'm not knocking any of that .

It's a great time of year and I think it can be awesome for so many people to reset and just get on with their life . But we all know the data . We've all heard it before New Year's resolutions never last . 99% are lost after the first week or whatever it is . We've heard it before . Right , but I stopped drinking six years ago .

I don't feel a need to be like this new start , this fresh start , because for the past six years I've not fallen off like I used to when I drank . The past six years have just been steady progress in the direction of where I want my life to go . And you know , when I did drink alcohol , I would always see New Year as this great chance to reset .

And if that's you right now , amazing , I'm not knocking you , but I'll tell you what I'm going to do . I'm going to go to bed at 10pm and not break my routine Just because everybody else is doing this new year new me stuff . I don't feel the need to do that and that's not from a cocky place .

I'm trying to tell you that when you stop drinking alcohol , you don't feel this need to change yourself and have this new year new me , because you actually start to like who you become , because when you stop drinking you make this promise to yourself and you follow through with it , which builds your self-esteem , and then that just spills into every area of your

life . Now , I'm not saying you need to be antisocial and not go out . If I was in the middle of New York City right now and I was in a hotel and it was New Year's Eve , I'm going to go and explore . I'm going to go out and just check out some differentj Khalifa which are absolutely spectacular . We have seen them before .

But because it's just like just going to completely destroy my routine , I'm going to have a terrible night of sleep . It's going to take me two or three days to get back on track . I'm just not that bothered Like what good happens after midnight . And again , that's not a criticism .

I'm not saying don't go out , but I and I wanted to share my perspective on this . The countdown's pretty cool , right ? If you're in a city , yeah , it's fun , but I'm not going to go out of my way to do anything on New Year's Eve . And listen , I don't have family in Dubai . My family live in England where I'm from .

My partner or her family live in Thailand where she's from . We've got friends in Dubai , but I'm not going to . I feel like I'm super boring or something like that . But it's a boozy night . I've just got no interest in it . I don't enjoy staying up late at night and going out . I just don't enjoy it .

But listen , if you feel like tonight is a chance for you to kind of have that new year , new me , I'm not knocking it . But the best advice I've got for you is , if you do decide to drink tonight , subscribe to the channel and check out the video I'm going to post tomorrow .
