When it comes to alcohol , there is a major problem that is plaguing society , and this problem is responsible for killing millions upon millions of people , and nobody has ever spoke about this before .

It's an epidemic of extreme magnitude and I promise you , if you don't understand this , if you don't get your head around what's happening right now , I don't want to scare you , but you might be next .

The importance of understanding this epidemic could be the difference between life and death , and today , in this video , I'm going to explain exactly what this epidemic is and I'm going to show you how you can fix it so you don't become one of those unlucky statistics . Now , a very quick introduction . It's great to meet you .

My name is Leon Sylvester and just so you know that I know what I'm talking about here . I haven't drank myself for over six years . I've worked with hundreds of clients now business owners , high-level professionals . I've helped them stop drinking alcohol with a new method called First Principles Thinking , something I've developed myself .

I've built a company called SoberClearcom and I've actually built one of the biggest stop drinking YouTube channels in the world , and this is an observation that I've made after seeing thousands of people stop drinking , but it's something that everybody is overlooking . So what exactly is this epidemic ?

Well , I call it the alcohol success epidemic , and it's a pattern I've seen again and again and again , and I'm almost sure that you will have fallen for this pattern as well . So to understand it , I need to explain what just happened . So I've recently been staying in a very nice hotel . It's a resort , and I'm not saying that to boast .

I could sleep in a hostel , I could sleep in a tent , but hey , every so often , why not Go to a nice place ? Life's about balance , right ? Anyway , this hotel was incredible , right , you've got nature , you've got a heated pool , it's cold outside .

It's just an awesome , awesome place , one of the best places I've ever stayed in , and I just couldn't help but notice how many people were drinking . It must have been 85-90% of people and a lot of people , and the funny thing is a lot of people that we spoke to in the resort as well were speaking about drinking .

Listen , if they want to drink , it's up to them , but I just couldn't help but notice the sheer volume of people that were drinking . But why ? We're in a nice place with loads of things to do , loads of amazing places to see , just a beautiful place . Why were so many people drinking here ? Well , that's when it started to hit me .

When you picture somebody in your mind with a drinking problem , what picture comes to your mind ? Picture it right now . Picture an individual that has a drinking problem .

Well , if you ask me , what comes to mind is somebody scruffy looking , somebody that probably needs a shave , somebody that's got dirty clothes on , someone that probably doesn't take very good care of themselves . They might be overweight or underweight , don't really exercise . They might have other problems in their financial life , with their relationships .

That's the image that comes to my mind , and I'd think that they'd be drinking to escape their life . There'd be a level of escapism . Maybe they're escaping a marriage that they're not happy in , or stress from work . It could be anything but this stereotype that we have when it comes to people with a drinking problem .

It really couldn't be further from the truth . See , in this hotel I saw it with my own two eyes . I'm not going to lie , and it sounds a bit cringe to say it , but there's almost a feeling of success in this hotel . You almost feel like wow , I've made it , it was that cool . Like , wow , I've made it , it was that cool , it was just incredible .

Right , it's breathtaking , an amazing scenery , just awesome . But don't you see the issue here ? See , the problem is people get this feeling of success , of happiness , and immediately they want to drink this drug . And what they're essentially doing is they're celebrating this amazing time .

They believe that drinking this alcohol enhances the occasion , they think that it adds to the experience . And I want to tell you one thing now this is way more dangerous than drinking to escape pain .

When we think of that typical drinker that's escaping and trying to get away from their life , trying to run away from their problems , sure , that's pretty bad , but it's nowhere near as bad as drinking to celebrate success .

Because what do you think starts happening to somebody who's conditioned to drink alcohol every time they have some kind of win or you know important thing that happens , or whatever ? Well , I'll promise you something right now the wins , the successes , the celebrations , they'll just get further and further away . They'll become few and far between .

And here's the crazy thing when I'm in this hotel , I'm probably the only person that's thinking this way . Most people will probably see the person that checks in at the hotel has . Why wouldn't they have a good bottle of wine and , you know , be by the water and live their life this way ? Why not ?

They deserve it , right , and I'm sure there's other people that share my worldview , but most people will see that as totally normal . But is it all true ?

Well , after not drinking myself for six years , after speaking with thousands of people one-on-one who have a drinking problem , making 600 YouTube videos , I'm going to tell you something right now that's going to give you a bit of a wake up call , because I want to tell you what happens in my mind when I see those people , and I just want to say this right

now . This is not from a place of superiority . I don't think I'm better than anybody that drinks alcohol in any way whatsoever . But at the same time , I want to tell you what I think when I see this , because this is why I've not drank for six years and it's why I can continue to not drink , be in places that serve alcohol and just not care whatsoever .

Firstly , I've accepted that 99% of the population have been conditioned to think that alcohol enhances their life . They truly believe it . If you were to get them to , you know , put money on it , to gamble on this idea that alcohol enhances your life , 99% of people would gamble it .

Yes , maybe that was a bit of a weird example , but you get the point and I've accepted this right . I know that I live in a world that sees alcohol this way . I can't change everybody . I'm not going to change everybody . All I really want to do is , you know , not drink myself , but then also help you person that's watching this video .

But let's just remind ourselves what alcohol actually is for a second . Those people that are , quote-unquote , celebrating with a drink well , they're just consuming a drug . Alcohol is a drug , like crack , cocaine , like heroin , like , you know , marijuana . It's still a drug and , in fact , alcohol is one of the biggest killers of all the drugs out there .

There's no question about it . Listen , we don't live in the 1800s anymore . We know it's a drug , we know that it's carcinogenic , we know that it damages pretty much everything that it comes into contact with , but we somehow think that drinking a drug is going to make our life better . Yet just change the drug .

If everybody in this resort was out the back smoking a crack pipe , no one's going to look at those people and think that that's okay , that that's normal . And this is the point I'm trying to make here . I see alcohol the exact same way that I'd see any other drug that I've not been conditioned to think that it's okay to consume .

I don't think shooting up heroin would be normal . I don't think dropping some speed would be normal . See , when I see these people drink , I have no envy whatsoever . I know that what they're doing is going to add nothing to their experience at all Nothing If anything . They're going to wake up with a hangover . They're going to wake up with a hangover .

They're going to be feeling sorry for themselves and they're always going to feel this wanting of a drink . They're never going to truly enjoy this amazing place and I feel sorry for them and I really want to stress that I'm not trying to say that I'm superior in any way at all . I want them to change .

I want to influence people to see the way that I see alcohol , because I know that it's 100 times better to live your life without drinking a poison . It's pointless , it does nothing . Listen , I get to go to this resort . I had the exact same experience as everybody else , but I'm waking up at 5 , 6am completely fresh .

I'm able to go for a walk , not be thinking about you know , having a pint of water because I'm gagging for a drink . Not thinking what did I say last night to my missus ? What did I say to my kids ?

I get to go and look at a sunrise , put my hand in ice-cold water in a lake and then go to a CrossFit gym and I look back at this experience and I realize , yeah , that was awesome , instead of worrying about systematically destroying every single cell in my body by drinking a drug that I choose to drink

Alcohol Mindset for Easy Sobriety

and listen . This mindset has kept me going for six years now being able to see alcohol as a poison and being able to look at other people and not feel like I want to be part of it , not feel like I want to get involved with it , being around it and accepting it .

Not judging them in any way , but just accepting that what they're doing is insane and it's something that you couldn't pay me to do . That's why I'm able to be around alcohol and just feel nothing . Nothing .

And I just promise you right now , if you can adopt this mindset , if you can be this certain in your worldview , stopping drinking will be the easiest thing you've ever done .

It will be a walk in the park and those days that you're not feeling great , you're not feeling yourself , you're feeling down , you're feeling blue , the days that maybe you would have tried to escape and drink , or the days that you're out celebrating a massive win , if you're able to see alcohol this way , this will keep you going during the hard times and also

the good times . Because I promise you one thing right now if you take that drink , it will add nothing , nothing at all . Thanks for checking out the Stop Drinking Podcast by Sober Clear If you want to learn more about how .
