The Stock Movers Report, your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market, harnessing the power of Bloomberg Data.

Speaker 1

Let's take a look at some stocks on the move today in Europe by Manor Edwards along with Caroline Hepka. We're joined by Bloomberg's Tea What at a Bio. Let's start then with gains for Science Co. What's behind the moves?

Speaker 3

Yeah, Science goes up as much as four point nine percent this morning. It's one of the biggest gain is actually on the stock six hundred. It's obviously the major global science, advanced materials and specialist chemicals company. These are yet more gains Science caps. Just last week actuos talking to you about their shares jumping the most in over a year, and that was after a beat on earnings.

It's important to note that that included a beat in their performance and care net sales business, and that significantly is Today's gain comes as Science Code is starting a strategic review of this segments of performance and care and it's really part of the firm's overall intention going forward to focus on becoming more of a pure play specialty materials and advanced technology company that's calling to a statement.

So I think it's interesting though that investors are seemingly backing this further streamlining despite the overall beat and despite the performance and care earnings last week.

Speaker 4

Okay, so that's on Science Code Now. EasyJet we had earnings out this morning, heard from the CEO speaking to Bloomberg and lots of focus on the impact of the energy crisis.

Speaker 3

Absolutely, EasyJet fluctuating today. Shares erased initial losses to gain slightly, up as much as two point five percent, but as you mentioned, Caroline is really in line with the sort of broader anxiety that we're seeing across the travel sector since the start of the Iran war. Easy Jet did report wider headline pre tax losses than expected in the first half of the year today, although it's good to note that this loss was actually within the range that

was given by the firm originally. But even so, analysts are expecting full year consensus expectations to drop further, and that's following cuts that have been made since the start of the year. Some interesting commentary from RBC. They're flagging a later booking trend, so people are putting off booking their summer holidays because they're concerned about airfares and cancelations in the midst of the closure of the straight of

hormoods and the pressure that's putting on fuel costs. So perhaps we can expect to see this trend proliferate further in the sector.

Speaker 1

And finally ensured. Generally talk us through the latest here.

Speaker 3

Yeah, so generally is up as much as two point nine percent this morning. It's actually the best performer in the stock six hundred Insurer's index, and really the big driver here is earning. So analysts saying that the first quarter results are strong, City saying it's a decent beat

early in the year and it should be taken well. However, it's interesting, actually Barclays was saying that all these metrics that are ahead of expectations, the expectations themselves were undemanding in the first place, so they don't see the need for any meaningful consensus revisions. But that aside, investors are reacting well. It seems healthy gains for generally this morning.
