Bloomberg Audio Studios, podcasts, radio News, The Stock Movers Report, your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market, harnessing the power of Bloomberg Data.
Let's take a look at some of the stocks on the move today.
We can do that with Bloomberg's Avalon for now, Avlon. What are you looking at today?
You have to start off with Micron. That's ticker MU currently climbing about eleven percent, though earlier today it did touch a record high, and that's up to a memory chip maker. Gave a stronger than expected outlook for the fiscal fourth quarter. While Street was really looking for Micron to bring more assurance for the AI trade, and it seems like it succeeded. It even got an upgrade from Ersta Group, who said that the stock is still reasonably valued despite its recent bull run.
All right, let's talk a little Dell, because sort of below the radar here, but the stock's getting hit today and it's one of the biggest losers right for the S and P five hundred.
You're absolutely correct. That is ticker Dell currently sliding about seven point four percent, making the company, as you said, one of the worst performers and that's after GF Securities downgraded the computer stock to hold from buy. At issue is the more than two hundred percent rally since Dell
reported fourth quarter results in February. The analyst Jeff Poo sees limited upside for Dell now given those really elevated expectations, and he also says it's potentially just an uncompelling risk reward right now.
Okay, what are you have?
Bio technee technique? Yes, okay, not at anything that we mentioned.
No, Yes, that is ticker tech and you're probably not going to hear it that often anymore.
Now.
That has been bought by Merk KGaA that is the German mark, not the US merk. It's currently surging about nineteen percent most inter day since twenty twenty four, and it was purchased for about eleven point three billion dollars. This acquisition will help to expand Merks Life Sciences franchise. And what is kind of important, though, is that the Walls Street remains very split about this. William Blair views the valuation as a bit disappointing, but says that regulatory
risk may have complicated other bids for this company. Still, others are saying that the portfolios are very complimentary, so it could be a good.
Fit the largest acquisition for MERK Germany in like a decade.
You're absolutely right, yes.
