So Steve Bannon's been busy, and when I say busy, I mean he's been advocating for federal troops at polling stations, which, and I cannot stress this enough, is extremely illegal and also just bonkers on its face. Over the past couple weeks, this former Trump strategist has been on his war Room podcast basically escalating what President
Trump started with his national voting push. Bannon said point blank that ICE will surround the polls come November, with a particular gem where he said, We're not going to sit here and allow you to steal the country again. Then, because apparently he thought that wasn't extreme enough, he doubled down the next day, calling for the eighty second and one hundred and first airborne divisions to be deployed to voting locations under the Insurrection Act. Federal law prohibits this.
It's also a crime in several states to carry firearms near polling places. But hey, details. What's interesting, and by interesting, I mean deeply troubling, is that Bannon's essentially doing pr work for the administration's election interference push. Democratic Senator Ed Markey called it a red alert moment, and honestly, he's
not wrong. In other Bannon news that's equally bonkers. Newly released Epstein files revealed that back in twenty nineteen, Bannon was texting Jeffrey Epstein about invoking the twenty fifth Amende to remove Trump from office. Yeah, you read that right. The same Bannon who went to prison in twenty twenty four for contempt of Congress and has since become Trump's most loyal enabler, was once texting a convicted sex criminal
about removing Trump. Conservatives lost it online, and even Trump's former national security adviser Mike Flynn demanded the do OJ bring him in for questioning. Meanwhile, Bannon's also been telling his podcast audience that Trump's magabase has zero enthusiasm right now. Massive lack of enthusiasm, he said, largely due to fall out from the Epstein Files, affordability issues, and foreign policy concerns. So while he's pushing election interference, his own base is
