Private investigator Laura Holt of the Remington Steele Investigations agency is in charge of security for an event in which some of the rarest gems in the world will be on display. What the client doesn’t know is that the head of the agency doesn’t exist–he is merely a fiction created by Laura Holt. And what Laura doesn’t know is that a thief is about to assume the role of the non-existent detective, throwing her life into chaos, threatening both the security of the gems and the integrity of the agency.
