Episode description

From 1848 to 1854, over 20,000 workers labored to complete a railway from Glozznitz to Mürzzuschlag,  in Austria.  This railway was unique in many ways. One of the most significant was that it wasn't until 1863 that a locomotive was build that could handle the steep and winding track.  Yet the track was built because the construction engineers believed that there would be a locomotive, even though they didn't have it or even seen it yet.
