Speaker 1

Good morning . I am Danny Mac and you're listening to Starting Right . Every weekday morning I'm going to be here to share stories of life and hope from God's Word . So grab a cup of coffee , sit back and relax for the next five minutes as I help you start your day by starting right .

Sit back and relax for the next five minutes as I help you start your day by starting right . I am sure that some of you are familiar with a fellow by the name of Nick Vujicic . He was born in Melbourne in 1982 , but when he was born he was suffering from what they call tetraamilia , which means he was born without fully formed limbs .

In fact , he's just got stubbies for hands and two very small deformed feet . One of those feet he calls his chicken drumstick because of its shape Originally the toes on his chicken drumstick foot .

They were fused together but an operation separated those toes and now he's able to use that foot like fingers to grab onto things , to use his computer , to use a cell phone and a number of other things , including controlling his wheelchair . Nick , I'm sure you can understand , lived a very challenged life .

It was not always good , and yet he was not about to let his severe disability hold him back At the age of 17, . He began giving talks to his prayer back At the age of 17, . He began giving talks to his prayer group At the age of 21, .

He graduated from Griffith University with a bachelor's degree in commerce and a double major in accountancy and financial planning . He's gone on to become an internationally known evangelist and speaker .

He founded Life Without Limbs , which is an international non-profit organization and ministry , and then , a couple of years later , he founded Attitude is Altitude , a motivational speaking company .

He now spends most of his time traveling the world as a motivational speaker and as an evangelist , encouraging and challenging people where they are and helping them to become everything that they can be . He speaks these kinds of words . He says if you can't get a miracle , become one .

He says fear is the biggest disability of all and will paralyze you more than being in a wheelchair . He said I was never crippled until I lost hope . Adjustments are necessary along the way , because life isn't always rosy , but it's always worth living . Here's one of my favorites Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet .

Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened , ambition inspired and success achieved . The challenges in our lives are there to strengthen our convictions . The challenges in our lives are there to strengthen our convictions . They are not there to run us over . Nick has grown beyond his limitations .

He doesn't see those as things that hinder him anymore . He allows God to use those weaknesses that we would see to become strengths . For him . He is the embodiment of 2 Corinthians 12 . As Paul had been calling out to God to remove this thorn in his flesh , god finally said to him my grace is all you need . My power works best in weakness .

So now I am glad to boast about my weakness so that the power of Christ can work through me . That's why I take pleasure in my weaknesses and in the insults , the hardships , the persecutions , the troubles that I suffer for Christ , for when I am weak , then I am strong .

What a powerful message for all of us to understand that our weaknesses don't need to hold us back . Our failings don't need to hold us back , and I know we all have had them . I've had failings , I've failed miserably in my life , but those failings are never there to hold us back .

In fact , in all of those failings and all of those weaknesses , god is able to show his strength . And when we show his strength through us , we are able to move on , knowing that his love has never left us and he's always guiding and helping us along the way . It shows God's love to us , god's commitment to us .

One final quote I want to give to you from Nick today . He said if God can use a man without arms and legs to be his hands and feet , then he can certainly use any willing heart . Will you be that willing heart today ? Have a great day , my friends . We'll talk to you again tomorrow .

Thank you for listening today and I invite you to join me Monday to Friday , right here on , starting Right with Danny Mac .
