Good morning and welcome to Starting Right with Danny Mac . I know that yesterday some of you were looking for our Music Monday episode , but with it being a holiday here in Canada , we decided to take the day off and we're going to talk about music today with a brand new song from Katie DeCole and Big Daddy Weave , called God is in the Story Over .
In Psalm 139 , verse 16 , it says Lord , you saw me before I was born . Every day of my life was recorded in your book . Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed .
What we sometimes forget is that , before we were even born , god started putting things together in our lives so that we would become who we are , that we would look like we do , that we would have the personalities that we have , that we would meet the people that we're going to meet .
God knew all of that before we were even born and , yes , god also knew all of the mistakes that we were going to make and he still loved us . That verse not only tells us that God knew all about those things that were going to happen , but it also tells us that he has had his hand on us all through our lives .
He's working to put the pieces together for us and in the good and the bad and the ugly , god is still there , working to show his presence in us and through us . As you read your Bible and you discover the lives of all of the people in the Bible and the mistakes that they made and how they faced the problems , sometimes failing , sometimes overcoming them .
But in it all , god was always there with them , teaching them , showing them , guiding them , because he was involved in their lives and in their story . And this morning I want to remind you that God is in your story . No matter what you're struggling with , no matter what your fears are right now , god is in your story and he has not forgotten you .
Just a few of the things that are encouraging in this song . It says God is in the story , he's in the details , even in the broken parts . He holds my heart and he never fails . And when I'm at my weakest , I will trust in Jesus . So if the storm you're walking through feels like it's too much and you wonder if he even cares at all .
Well , hold on tight to what you know . He promised that he would not let you go . God is in the story . God is in the details . God constantly surprises us by showing up either in the middle of our problems or just when we think it couldn't get any worse , or even sometimes after we've made the big mistake .
And it's sometimes at those times that he's able to break through to us . And he uses the problems and the mistakes to redefine what we need to know , to shift direction in our lives , to help us to become wiser and stronger and better . The Bible tells us we're going to go through difficult times . That shouldn't ever be a surprise to us .
And when we go through those really , really trying times , god hasn't left us . God is still with us and he wants us to hang on in faith , believing that God is still in the story . And in the story it's the ending that counts .
The journey along the way will have its ups and downs , it will have its villains and its failures and its battles , but in the end of the story , the hero wins . And in God's story , we are the heroes and God will help us to win . So where are you in your story this morning ? Are you fighting a battle ?
Do you feel overwhelmed and separated from everything that's good and right ? Do you feel frustrated in your own weaknesses and your own impulses and your own mistakes ? Do you feel that you're under attack from somebody else or something else , like coming against you unfairly or unjustly , or wherever else you are in your story ?
God is there with you right now and he is there to bring healing and hope and peace and joy for you . So today , as we present you part of this song and I encourage you to listen to it all , it really is good and the video that goes with it is tremendous but as you listen to it , be reminded and be encouraged that God is in your story .
Just because you're going through bad things or difficult things does not mean that God has left you . It means that , in the midst of where you are , god's compassion and love and grace is for you even more so , instead of getting angry or frustrated with him , put your faith and trust in him , knowing that he has not left you or abandoned you .
