Now we're going to talk about some music today , but before we do that , I want to ask you a question . How many of you right now are facing problems or situations or something drastic that needs to happen in your life , and you know that it can't be answered by anything that you can do yourself . It's going to have to be somehow the hand of God .
Well , I know what that's like , because I know that almost all of us face times where we know something has to change , there has to be something overcome or be made right , and there's just no way that we can get that to happen all by ourselves . It's not unusual .
Everybody faces that , and today we're going to talk about those God problems , the ones that we have to give to Him and the ones that he will work out for us and in us .
In fact , the song that we are featuring today is called God Problems from Maverick City Music , and we find encouragement from it to help us understand what we can do , what we should do and how we can trust God to bring about the answers that we so desperately need in our lives . We also find a scriptural answer for us , some scriptural direction .
It comes from Zechariah , chapter 4 . Zechariah was an Old Testament prophet . God spoke to him to give directions to the people who were being led by Zerubbabel , and in chapter 4 , god spoke to Zechariah to give Zerubbabel a very specific message .
The message is recorded in Zechariah , chapter 4 and verse 6 , where Zechariah is speaking and he says this is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel it is not by might nor by strength , but by my spirit , says the Lord of hosts .
The message that God gave Zechariah force irruvable was hey , man , you are not going to be able to solve this by any of your skill or any of your strength or any other way .
There is no way that you are going to win in this situation , because it's not by your might , it's not by your strength , but it is by the Spirit of God doing something miraculous , and that message is exactly what some of us need to hear today .
We've been trying as hard as we can , doing everything we can think of to change a situation or to find an answer in something , and we're frustrated , we're tired , we're angry and God is saying just wait , because it's not by your might or by your strength , or by even your wisdom , it's by the Spirit of God that the answer will come for you .
And that's what Maverick City Music reminds us of as well , in the words to their song . Here's just a little bit from the song there's just some problems only God can fix . There's just some battles flesh and blood can't win . There'll be some moments that just don't make sense .
I can't see it now , but I'm still convinced there's just problems only God can fix , not by power , not by might , but by the Spirit of the living God . So , yes , there are times when we need to just let go of everything we're trying to do and let God take control and let God bring about the answers that we need .
So today I want you to be encouraged that sometimes we face walls that are just too high to climb . And it's in these moments of surrender , in recognizing that some battles are for God alone , that we can find true peace and that we can find the answers that we are so desperately seeking .
And here's something that's really important to remember when we are going through those times that are incredibly difficult and we're stressed out and we don't know how to find the answers , it's not a sign at all that God has left us . It's not that we are being punished for anything .
It's all a part of our walk with God , and what God is really wanting from us at those times is for us to reach out to Him , to have a more intimate relationship with him , one that really truly says God , I know I can trust you and I will put my faith in you and I will love you and I will wait on you and your hand to bring about the answer .
So today , my encouragement to you is sometimes we just need that heartfelt surrender in those God problems where only he can provide the answer , and remember what God told Zechariah to say to Zerubbabel this is not by might , it's not by power , but it is by the Spirit of the Lord that the answer will come .
