Kirk went to Japan a week ago And didn't stick around for celebration He planned to go But just got the week wrong The tide dilation got me I rocked up to the convention center And I thought it was that weekend They're setting up Yeah, they're setting up And then, yeah I arrived two weeks early I saw the AT-ATs driving in And the TIE fighters swooping over You said they're really promoting The heck out of Star Wars Over there right now, right?
Yeah, there's so much Especially the Visions series Whenever I was walking through The main streets in Tokyo Going past the Disney store They had all this Star Wars stuff Being played And a lot of merch available as well Versus not as much Marvel stuff As I was expecting But I definitely saw a lot more Star Wars material they were pushing Which is kind of cool to see I could see that Just because Star Wars has been In Japan for a long time Even the original movie Had a poster there Yeah
They're doing Star Wars Nights now too And What's the What's the city they have At Disneyland over there? Is it Tokyo? It's probably Tokyo Probably Tokyo, yeah Yeah, Disney Tokyo If that's the park that has it They're doing something called Star Wars Nights I think everyone just calls it Disney Japan Disney Japan, yeah Yeah, exactly Where is it, Kirk?
I think No, no, it is in Tokyo You're right I remember going Going past it I think Universal is in Osaka Like the one with Nintendo World That's what I'm thinking I always get confused Which one's in which part But yeah But like The lines are massive I've seen so many Yeah People With those things, yeah Right Yeah Yeah, Visions of course Being inspired by A lot of anime Well, it's It's created by a bunch of anime studios The first season Or volume Was done all with Japanese places
The second one went international And they kind of outsourced To other places around the world There's a volume Three coming later this year So, yeah It's been pretty successful I mean, people have thought It's been You know, it's It's been interesting enough To go three volumes So Yeah, it's true There's always been Really interesting content And I think When we've talked about it There's a handful Because it's all not canon There's a handful that I think were cool enough
And could fit in well enough That they should try to extend it And make it canonized Yeah, or adapt some of them Yeah, I think that'd be cool Yeah, that'd be Maybe that was the plan all along Because of them just getting Like Getting ideas Free ideas Free ideas Yeah, free concept ideas Yeah, yeah Well, we got some You know, I'm sure this weekend I'm sure we'll hear more about Visions Volume 3 So, you know Whether it's a teaser Or something I'm sure they'll talk about it So, you know
I'm sure we'll get to it In the meantime There is a few new things That, you know We have going into the weekend Some One big headline is X for Axis developers Are making a Star Wars strategy Game And I think I sent word To you guys about this The other day I shot you a text message With the link It's called Star Wars Zero Company And it's a collaboration With EA's Respawn Entertainment And Bit Reactor Which was a studio That was founded In 2022 By veterans of XCOM And Civilization
Which are two very Very big Strategy games Out there That, you know I play Civilization I know Our friends AJ plays XCOM Quite a bit XCOM 2 And they're making A Star Wars game So, pretty cool I don't know If you guys Looked up the leaks There were some leaks Of footage out there Of some gameplay And it looks Pretty cool I haven't seen any gameplay It's like a Squad based You know You can tell Your squad members What to do And it's like I think it'll be Turn based So you kind of Figure out
What you want to do And then The enemy takes their turn Your guys take your turn And then you see it Kind of like Unveil Very cinematically Sort of thing Is that more like A KOTOR style Or like a Pokemon style No, I think KOTOR KOTOR is not Turn based Because it's kind of You're always live It is turn based But it's Everything's happening Simultaneously So you can like Pause time Like line up What you want to do Or you can do it live But That doesn't work Very well Okay Yeah, the MMO Was not
Turn based No, the MMO Is more like Warcraft Because you can't Really do that Gotcha With everybody Doing like that Pausing time Yeah Alright, you This is a game That you're going to play, Kirk You're going to check this out Definitely Definitely Always keen to check out Some new stuff Yep Single player Turn based tactics game I know you're going to Try it at some point as well We'll see I'm not Super big Into RTSs these days Sometimes I break out The Stronghold Crusader Yeah

Those crazy new Lego announcements? For May 4th I just saw the Jango Fett Maybe you wanna Talk about that? I mean I just kinda Browsed it quickly I haven't looked at it Too in depth But they're gonna do A massive Jango Fett Slave 1 Which I don't know the exact scale But it looked ginormous Yeah And the last time They did this scale Was Boba's Slave 1 Like years ago Is it the same As that one?
Yeah, yeah Same scale Same size It's just the exact same They just changed the color The same parts There's some different parts Cause there's a Side by side There's some different parts Here and there And the plaque is different Of course And now they've done The whole stupid renaming Of the ship To Jango Fett's Starship Lame So Yeah But they've got Lego versions Of the Of the minifigures Of naturally You know Yeah Cause they haven't done Jango since the original Yeah Well actually Sorry No

Another Uh Quest Uh Exclusive VR Game Called Beyond Victory And this is a Uh I think it takes place Between Episode 3 and 4 Or something like that Uh This is a Pod racing VR game It's what That sounds cool But it's not what We've always wanted Um It's It's very It's very unique Uh It's You're not It's mixed reality It's designed to Kind of cater to the Mixed reality headsets Which have good Cameras that you can see Your room around you So like So you put it on When you're in the car
So I'm saying When characters talk to you When you have the cutscenes And everything You're kind of In the cutscene And these characters Form around you In your existing environment Um Weird Yeah It kind of makes you Think floating heads Well it's the full character But like it knows Where the floor is It knows where the walls You call that driving Yeah I don't know how good It's going to be But from what I saw In the cutscenes And you can look it up Right now There's like a trailer
For Beyond Victory And um I think this was done By Uh I think it was the ILM X Labs YouTube channel You can find on IGN has it as well There's a trailer for Beyond Victory Mixed in with the other VR games That this studio has done Um But you can get some footage Of what it looks like And When you race The pod racers You're kind of Top down views You're looking on it As if it's like A tilted off Map of Mario Kart Or I guess you can kind of Stand wherever you want But it's basically like
Mario Kart But you only see like You know Maybe A hundred meters Down the road And it's a bit like Playing one of those Classic arcade games Where you're like Steering the bike You know Down the You know And you're just avoiding The obstacles And stuff like that Oh okay yeah It looks like it could be Something like that Or Or it looks like Or like a Crash Bandicoot Some level You just gotta jump Yeah something Something like that Yeah so it's not What I would envision For a VR pod racing game
Like I want to set up A fan on a table In front of me Sitting in a chair Wind blowing In my face Yeah yeah Full max You know Just go full on You know Like full sand You know what would be cool If they actually You know how people Get really into Like their Formula 1 Simulators and stuff Like if Like someone made Like a Like a Like a Seat thing That has Moved on hydraulics And everything That was specific To like A Star Wars Star Wars pod racing game That'd be That'd be good fun Yes
I'm sure you could like Retrofit a racing sim And do something like that Oh well I mean like And you can get your fan as well You can get flight You can get flight controls Like as it is For a lot of the You know the flight Flight games out there Like you know Some people have wicked Like virtual Pod racers Plane setups Oh okay But if you were to like Actually Do it in a way That those could work Like that would be That would be crazy Yeah That would be cool In Japan Like I can't

I've seen pictures of these Like there's like I've seen like YouTube shorts Where someone like Buys one for like 10 grand For their Star Wars collection And I'm like Oh my god And it's like Those things look insane Like I'd love to try one And I'm standing right next to one And it's broken It's like the only thing That was broken Couldn't believe it Oh you missed out Security It was actually a lot of fun Yeah It was actually You tried it But I just Yeah I tried it It was great
And it was like working And like It kind of felt like It was something that was made Like a long time ago But like it wasn't made A long time ago as well Right Just because the graphics Were so bad Yeah Like the projection Was like really Like kind of dimly lit But like the gameplay Was still good fun And like Had a good time There was a bit of a line To actually get into it as well But then I just waited around And then And had some fun But it was also In Japanese as well
