bless the Lord who forgive us all our sins, his mercy endureth forever. God spake these words and said, I am the Lord, thy God who brought the out to the land of Egypt out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods, but me Lord have mercy upon us and incline our hearts to keep this law thou shalt not make, to dissect any graven image, nor the likeness of anything that is in heaven, above or in the earth beneath.

Or in the water under the earth now shouts not to bow down to them nor worship them. Lord have mercy upon us and incline our hearts to keep this law that shout, not take the name of the Lord. Thy God in vain. Lord have mercy upon us and incline our hearts to keep this law. Remember that thou keep Holy the Sabbath day.

Lord have mercy upon us and incline our hearts to keep this law honor, thy father and thy mother, Lord have mercy upon us and incline our hearts to keep this law thou shalt do no murder. Lord have mercy upon us and incline our hearts to keep this law thou shalt not commit adultery. Lord have mercy upon us and incline our hearts to keep this law thou shalt not steal. Lord have mercy upon us and incline our hearts to keep this law. Now shout, not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

Lord have mercy upon us and incline our hearts to keep this law thou shalt not covet. Lord have mercy upon us and write all these thy laws in our hearts. We've seats the here, what our Lord, Jesus Christ. Say it. Thou shalt love the Lord, thy God, with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind, this is the first and great commandment. And the second is likened to it. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself on these two commandments, hang all the laws and the prophets.

Let us humbly confess our sins against all mighty God. Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against the in thought word and deed by what we have done. And by what we have left undone, we have not loved the, with our whole heart. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry. And we humbly repent. For the sake of thy son, Jesus Christ have mercy on us and forgive us that we may delight in thy will and walk in die ways to the glory of thy name.

Oh man, the almighty and merciful Lord grant you out of solution and remission of all your sins. True repentance amendment of life and the grace and constellation of a Holy spirit. Amen. also the Lord be with you and with ice spirit. Let us pray. Oh, mighty God who alone canst order the unruly wills and affections of sinful men grant unto thy people that they may love the thing which thou command dust and desire that was thou doest promise that.

So among the sundry and manifold changes of this world, our hearts may surely there be fixed or true joys are to be found. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord who live at and reign with the, and the Holy spirit one God now and forever. Amen. A reading from the book of Jeremiah the days are surely coming, says the Lord when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant that I made with their ancestors.

When I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, a covenant that they broke though, I was, their husband says the Lord, but this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days says the Lord, I will put my law within them and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God and they shall be my people no longer. Shall they reach one, teach one another or say to each other?

No, the Lord for they shall know me from the light least of them to the greatest says the Lord for, I will forgive their inequity and remember their sin. No more. The word of the Lord. Thanks. Be to God. The Psalm today is Psalm 51 verses one through 13, have mercy on me. Oh God. According to your loving kindness in your great compassion, blot out. My offenses wash me through and through from my wickedness and cleanse me from my sin for, I know my transgressions and my sin is ever before me.

Against you only have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight? And so you are justified when you speak and upright in your judgment. Indeed. I've been wicked from my birth, a sinner from my mother's womb. For behold, you look for truth deep within me, and I will make me understand wisdom. Secretly purge me from my sin and I shall be pure wash me and I shall be clean. Indeed.

Make me hear of joy and gladness that the body you have broken may rejoice hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities create in me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence and take not your Holy spirit from me. Give me the joy of your saving help again, and sustain me with your bountiful spirit.

our second reading today is from the letter to the Hebrews Christ did not glorify himself and becoming a high priest, but was appointed by the one who said to him, you are my son today. I have forgotten you. As he says, also in another place, you are a priest forever. According to the order of Milky Siddiq. In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death.

Yeah. And he was heard because of his Revenant submission, although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And having been made perfect. He became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him, having been designated by God, a high priest, according to the order of Milky, Siddiq, the word of the Lord. Thanks. Be to God. The sequence him is him 628. Help us. Oh Lord. To learn. the Holy gospel of our Lord. Jesus Christ. According to John Laurie, be to thee.

Oh Lord. Now, among those who went up to worship at the festival were some Greeks. They came to Philip, who was from a fate Bethesda in Galilee and said to him, sir, we wish to see Jesus Philip went and told Andrew that Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus, Jesus answered them. The hour has come for the son of man to be glorified. Very, truly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies. It remains just a single grain of wheat, but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

Those who love their life will lose it. And those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me and where I am there will my servant be also whoever serves me, the father will honor. Now my soul is troubled. And what should I say, father save me from this hour. No, it is. For this reason that I've come to this hour, father glorify your name, then a voice came from heaven. I have glorified it and I will glorify it again.

The crowd standing there heard it and said that it was thunder. Others said an angel has spoken to him. Jesus answered this voice has come for your sake. Not for mine. Now is the judgment of this world. Now the ruler of this world will be driven out and I, when I am lifted up from the earth will draw all people to myself. He said this to indicate the kind of death he was to die. The gospel of the Lord praise be to the Oh, Christ. In the name of God, father, son, and Holy spirit.

Amen. These last few weeks, we've heard from the gospel of John and it seems each week Jesus' words become more and more and more cryptic in nature. This week, he speaks to us about having to lose our lives in order to gain it. And he talks about the fact that his time has come, but what is it about this moment that signals to Jesus, that his time has come to glorify them? The Lord in that moment is the fact that the jail entire world is beginning to take notice of what he is teaching.

Let us not forget that Jesus came, not just for the children of Israel, but for all nations. And part of the prophecies about Jesus is that all nations will bow down to him. And so in this moment, when those who were Greek or Gentile, Ask to see Jesus. Jesus realized that his moment was upon him, that his work was coming to fruition. And that the day of the crucifixion was not far off.

But what is it about this message that tells us that in order to find life, we must be willing to give up our life. I also realize was we discussed this passage that John in his focus was really focused on the soul and not the physical reality of our lives. And so his harsh words that he puts into Christ's mouth, maybe just part of his personal active, I believe what Jesus is really saying is if you are not willing to trans form your life, On this earth, then you will lose your life.

And he talks in terms of a seed falling onto the ground and says it must die in order to live and bear fruit. And as I thought about that seed falling to the ground, I immediately thought about the project. Our preschoolers did two years ago, they took a bean seed.

And they put it in a wad of cotton and plays that watt in a plastic bag and then taped it to the window and there, they could watch the progress of that seed opening up and leaving its dormancy and coming back to life as the green shoot went upward and the roots went downwards, did the seed actually die? Being a seed.

It stopped being, but what it was doing in the meantime was transforming itself from seed to seedling, to bean plant and to a plant that eventually bore fruit, the same holds true for many moments in our lives. And I think about the moment in my life when our oldest daughter was born. It was then that I realized that life before my wife and I had changed drastically, there was no going back.

Our lives is just being a married couple able to do as we pleased had now come to an end and no longer were we just the two of us, but we were the three of us. We were parents. And how drastically that changed our lives. Former lives that we had to let go of in order to become the parents that our daughter required of us. There are many points in our lives that we must let go of what was in order to enter in what can be.

And so Jesus reminds us this morning that the ultimate point of transformation and transition. Is when we move from being a child of this world to becoming a child of Christ. When we identify the bonds and chains of sin that hold us down to this earth and vow to break them with God's help that we let go of our lives of sin and enter into lies of freedom as children of Christ. So, yes, if we wish to hold onto our life of this world, there will come a point that we'll ultimately lose it.

If we're willing to let go of all the things that hold us back from Christ and to allow the love of Christ to transform and change our heart hearts, we will find new life in that life. Is far greater than any other life we can choose for ourselves. Amen. Let us profess our faith with the words of a nice seen creed. Okay. I believe in one God, the father almighty maker of heaven and earth.

And if all things visible and invisible and in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, the gods and of his father before all worlds, God of God, light of light, very God, a very God begotten not made. Being of one substance with the father, by whom all things were made, who for us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy ghost of the Virgin Mary and was made man and was crucified also for us under Pontius pilot, he suffered and was buried.

And the third day he Rose again, according to the scriptures and ascended into heaven. And sitteth on the right hand of the father and he shall come again with glory to judge, but the quick and the dead whose kingdom shall have no end. And I believe in the Holy ghost, the Lord and giver of life who proceeded from the father and the son who with the father and the son together is worshiped and glorified who speak by the prophets.

And I believe in one Holy Catholic and apostolic church, I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. The prayers of the people. Let us pray for the whole state of Christ church and the world all mighty and everliving God who and I, Holy word has taught us to make prayers and supplications and to give thanks for all men receive.
