Developmentally disabled Missourians suffer abuse, death in a dysfunctional system

About 2,680 people with developmental disabilities died under the care of the state of Missouri — on average, one person every day between 2017 through 2023. Reporter Will Skipworth’s new investigation from the River City Journalism Fund dives into that system and its flaws.
