Episode description

Your daily kids news podcast. Plastics battle for World Environment Day; pilgrims head to Mecca for the Haj; Squiz-E sniffs a pollie porky; and sloths the size of elephants.     It’s World Environment Day, and the UN wants us all thinking about plastic! While plastic helps our lives, it’s hurting oceans and animals too. Let’s learn how to use less plastic and recycle more—so our planet can breathe easier. A million Muslims are gathering in Mecca for the annual Haj—a journey in the desert to honour an ancient pilgrimage. It’s one of the world’s largest and most spiritual events! Scientists say ancient sloths were as big as elephants—complete with armoured skin! No sleepy tree-hugging here. A politician wrongly claimed solar panels can’t be recycled, but fact-checkers—and a helpful newshound—proved him wrong! Turns out, 90% can be recycled right here in Australia.
