In his first aired interview since taking the helm (again) at Starbucks, interim CEO and founder Howard Schultz speaks candidly to Andrew Ross Sorkin at The New York Times DealBook D.C. Policy Forum in Washington. In an extended conversation, the two cover inflation, America’s gun policy, the mental health crisis, the labor movement, and leadership in capitalism. Plus, May’s consumer price index, or CPI, was up 8.6% from last May, the highest year-on-year increase since December of 1981. Former U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) and investor Kevin O’Leary discuss the sky-high fuel prices across the country and steps the government can take to lessen the squeeze on consumer wallets.
