Carl Quintanilla and Courtney Reagan broke down today’s market set-up after President Trump laid out new tariff threats for 3 key industries: Autos, Pharma, and Semiconductors. Stocks under pressure as earnings from a number of sectors disappoint: Toll Brothers results hitting the homebuilders, Bumble plunging double-digits, and Etsy citing consumer headwinds… But that said: some green shoots in energy, from Solaredge to Occidental. 

Within the hour: the team talked top tech picks with Wedbush’s Dan Ives, fresh off a channel check in Asia; the state of the AI arms race with Logan Bartlett of Redpoint Ventures; broke down one sector still licking its wounds post-DeepSeek sell-off; and discussed Trump’s decision to keep Biden-era rules around merger reviews - with one former FTC Commissioner who says that’s not a bad thing.
