This week the Spine Crackers read Czech author Bohumil Hrabal's comedic, erotic, historical adventure I Served the King of England, first published surreptitiously in 1971, and formally released in 1983.
Arthur Machen (1863-1947) was a Welsh author whose horror stories are often seen as a precursor to the "weird fiction" of today. This week the Spine Crackers read his two novellas "The Great God Pan" and "The White People."
