In this episode, hosts Katherine Cody, Psy.D. and Becca Lory, CAS, BCCS welcome guest Grace Myhill, MSW. Grace specializes in working​ ​with​ ​neurodiverse​ ​couples​ ​in​ ​which​ ​one​ ​partner​ ​has​ ​Asperger’s, and​ ​understands​ ​the​ ​unique​ ​strengths​ ​and​ ​challenges​ ​that​ ​come​ ​with​ ​these​ ​relationships. She​ ​offers​ ​neurodiverse​ ​couples​ ​coaching​ ​and various​ ​support​ ​groups​ ​​—​ ​focusing​ ​on​ ​communication,​ ​intimacy,​ ​and​ ​understanding each​ ​other’s​ ​perspectives​ ​—​ ​with​ ​the​ ​goal​ ​of​ ​skill-building,​ ​problem-solving,​ ​and establishing​ ​a​ ​common​ ​language​ ​of​ ​connection.​ ​​She​ ​also​ ​offers​ ​in-person​ ​assessments​ ​for Asperger’s/Autism​ ​Spectrum​ ​Disorder. She is also the​ ​Director​ ​of​ ​both​ ​The​ ​Peter​ ​M.​ ​Friedman​ ​Neurodiverse​ ​Couples​ ​Institute and​ ​of​ ​Couples/Partner​ ​Services​ ​at​ ​the​ ​Asperger/Autism​ ​Network​ ​(AANE). The three discuss the common challenges presented in neurodiverse relationships, explore Grace’s methods for helping her clients, and look at Becca’s experience as a woman on the autism spectrum in a relationship with a neurotypical.
