Dr. Yurman is a Licensed Psychologist, and a certified school psychologist in the State of Connecticut, who specializes in cognitive-behavioral therapies (CBT) and related interventions to treat anxiety and mood disorders in adolescents and adults. She has worked within public and private school systems, hospital and mental health settings, and consulted with departments of education at the state level to improve care for individuals with an autism spectrum disorder. Becca, Dr. Gerber, and Dr. Yurman discuss the value of cognitive-behavioral therapies for people with autism, how the therapy method works with co-occuring diagnoses, and how school districts have been evolving to accommodate students on the spectrum.
