For Spear talk 82, we welcomed Shihan Dana Abbott to the podcast! Dana holds a 7th degree black belt in Kenjutsu and a world class practioner of Tachi-Iai / Toyama Ryu Iai Batto Do (Japanese Swordsmanship)! Dana was elected into the Black Belt Hall of Fame (2004), Masters Hall of Fame (Budo Spirit Award), and a member of the World Wide Martial Arts Council.
In our discussion we talked about the history of Kenjutsu and the philosphies behind it, the Samuari way of of life, how he found his way to Japan, the history of the sword, and so much more.
