Transcript

I'm John Torick. And I'm Danny Sullivan. On the next episode of speaking of design, we'll talk to Anthony Kane and Melissa Penicad from the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure. They're leading the engineering industry to define and measure sustainability, and they're excited about how that effort is making sustainability an inherent part of the design process.

There is a perception that sustainable infrastructure is more expensive, But as we redefine a new process of how we design, I think it'll just be ingrained in what we do. And twenty years from now, we won't be having this conversation about sustainability costing more. We'll just say, oh, well, of course, we just design it sustainable from the beginning. Last year, 2018, was a real milestone year in history of Envision and the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure.

We saw an unprecedented number of new projects register to pursue verification. We thought, you know what? It's really time to start raising the bar for sustainability. On the next episode of Speaking of Design.
