More than a decade ago, a group of architects asked how they could make a difference in the world beyond their day to day jobs. That question inspired the formation of Design for Others, a volunteer organization providing design expertise to projects around the world. On the next episode of Speaking of Design, we'll learn more about one of their projects and how they're partnering with the medical technology enterprise
to improve health care in India. A project doesn't actually give back in in a single instance. A project has the opportunity or the potential to touch hundreds, if not thousands, if not even tens of thousands of lives. We know that in India, we don't have enough doctors. For every 2,000 odd patients, we just have only
one doctor. So we thought that this particular project would be extremely useful so the researchers could come in, the patients are there, technologies available, and how each one could contribute and help each other to impact millions of people. So this is a small health care clinic that focuses around technology based solutions. It's thinking about health care with what is truly important to create a healthy space
and workable environment for health care workers. Inevitably, when you do a lot of reading and a lot of study on a particular community, you end up feeling kind of aligned with them. And, you know, I certainly experienced that with this project. Each of the team members, they bring a lightness to it and they bring a a passion. They're really doing this because they care about the work. Coming up on the next episode of Speaking of Design.
