I'm John Torek. And I'm Danny Sullivan. Growing population and rapidly changing transportation technologies are affecting our everyday lives. On the next episode of Speaking of Design, we'll learn how public transportation agencies are partnering with private sector technology companies to create a new blueprint for mobility in Denver, Colorado. Denver Metropolitan Region has been one of the fastest growing regions for a couple decades now.
We struggle with congestion here on an everyday basis, and we all realize that that hinders economic activity. We know that technology is freeing a disruption in the way we think about transportation and our transportation future, but how are we really planning for it? So we have to change the way we think in terms of transportation planning because people are choosing much different ways to travel. And we don't really have the tools to predict that the way we have in the
past. This wasn't about just making Denver the best just to be the most technological city. This was really about trying to roll up our sleeves, and and they really got to the root of it. How can these three agencies work together and and really make Denver a better place to live? There is a strong need to think about how technology can enable quality of life, not just developing technology solutions and transportation for the sake of technology.
And I think Mobility Choice, as I said, was not really in the end a technology project. It was about building that community, thinking about how to make people's transportation experience more valuable to them. In the Mobility Choice plan, it just kinda changed the way that we were thinking about what we have done for the last forty years in terms of our planning. And that's really opened up the conversation.
I always say it's like you have the ability either to shape your future or you can sit back and let the future happen to you. And I think a plan like the Denver Mobility Project is the first step in in trying to shape the future in into a way that that you want. Coming up on the next episode of Speaking of Design.
