Hi there. This is Harry. And welcome back to a podcast where tried to help you to understand the English language. 30 are able to communicate with people in a more comfortable, A more professional way. That's what you choose. So we look att, expressions and grammar, Fraser, verbs, idioms on DH ways in which you can communicate on a much higher level. Okay, so what do I have for you now? Well, in this particular podcast, we're going to take a look at some cold locations on these air connected with work. So different cold locations collected, connected with work. So let me look at the 1st 1 Flexible working hours, flexible working hours. Well, we all like and would like to enjoy having flexible working hours on what this literally means is that the beginning and the end of your day are flexible. You can start at eight and finish it for or started nine and finish it five. Or start a 10 and finish at six. So as long as you get your eight hours on nine hours, whatever your boss requires, then there's flexibility at the beginning and the end of the day so that you can fit it in with your the rest of your life, kids to school or, you know, perhaps an early morning person, and therefore 10 o'clock suit you better. So we like to enjoy flexible working hours. The minimum wage well in Europe. Now we have this aspect known as the minimum wage, where employers are expected to pay the minimum wage per hour for employees on the minimum wage is set by different countries. It could be eight euro an hour, nine year old, a 10 year old, a pound sterling, depending on which jurisdiction you're in. They set and established what the minimum wage is going to be. So whatever number of hours you get, it's multiplied by the amount of the minimum wage, and that is what you can expect to achieve in your weekly or monthly salary. Minimum minimum wage is really important for those people on low incomes on those people on jobs that are not so professional. It could be working in the entertainment industry. It could be working in hotels and bars restaurants. It could be working in the likes of McDonald's and fast food outlets. All of these areas are typically where we will find the minimum wage mean applied, and it's obviously helpful for students and other people to know that they're not working for ridiculously low amounts of money on that their work is valued. OK, so that is the aspect ofthe minimum minimum wage, minimum wage, work, life balance. While this is something that we hear a lot about these days work life balance, What does it mean? Well, work life balance means getting the right balance in your day in your week between your work and your private life, your family life okay, they don't want people don't want to be seen to be working 50 60 hours a week on struggling home tired, not having time for their own personal life, the family and friends. So we want to get that right balance between what is an appropriate day's work on what is appropriate time to spend with their family. Of course, this could include now, because of the Internet, getting emails outside of working hours, getting what's up messages, getting text messages from bosses and people, effectively putting pressure on people to work outside the norm outside the normal working day or working week. So this is all aspects ofthe work. Life balance, making sure we keep everything, equilibrium, everything in equilibrium. Okay, And then the next one is temporary contract. Of course, we can have different types of contracts. We can have permanent contracts where you're you're employed until you leave or you're asked to leave but a temporary contractors for a temporary period of time. It could be one week, one month, two months, two weeks, whatever. Whatever it might be, it's a contract for a temporary period. You start one day and it ends with a definitive end date in three weeks. It could be a temporary contract while somebody is on maternity leave. It could be a temporary contract to complete some work that the organisation needs to be completed as a matter of urgency. So they hire you on this temporary, too weak two month contract. Sometimes it includes a payment at the end of the contract for completing the work. So that's a bonus. Okay, Other times you all we get is a reference on DH on to the next job. So temporary contracts something that isn't permanent. Okay. And then finally, managerial responsibility, managerial responsibility. This doesn't necessarily mean that you're actually a manager, but it means that you have the responsibilities of a manager, So managerial responsibility could give you responsibility for certain key areas in the organisation. It could give you responsibility for some people in the organisation who will be direct reporting lines to you upwards. Okay. So people like to get managerial responsibility because it tests them. It enables them to use their skills in a better way on enabled them to prove to all those particular bosses that the capable of going further in the organisation, perhaps with some possibility of a promotion later so people like to receive, like to get, like to be given managerial responsibility, the responsibilities off a manager, managerial responsibility. Okay, so that's the podcast are connected with work and complications with work on by just reading to you once more flexible working hours, minimum wage work, life balance, temporary contract on managerial responsibility. Okay, well, thanks for listening. And if you need to contact me, you can do so. W w w dot english lesson vice character comin.
